Ask her which KTV she is working and who is her Mummy.

If she can answer, call the KTV recep and ask if this girl is scheduled to work on that day.

KTV recep usually handle the scheduling and they maintain a roster of girls who are scheduled to work that day.

Typically a girl who is scheduled to work but doesn't turn up, needs to pay a fine. This rule is typically strictly enforced, because KTVs usually involve multiple Mummies and multiple shareholders so even if the said girl is a particular favourite/ang pai she is not immune to having to pay the fine.

This arrangement is 100% a scam. It has nothing to do with legitimate KTV operations or money laundering; it is a text-book variation of a dating or "credit-for-sex" scam. [1] (https://www.police.gov.sg/media-hub/news/2022/20220523_police_advisory_on_credit-for-sex_scams)

If you transfer any money, you will never get it back, and you will never meet the lady.

How this Scam Works
1. The Hook: The scammer (who is often a syndicate operating overseas using stolen photos) matches with you on Tinder. They build rapport quickly and suggest moving the chat to WhatsApp or WeChat. [1] (https://www.asiaone.com/singapore/polytechnic-student-swiped-right-tinder-lost-2100-love-and-game-scam), [2] (https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/student-lost-2100-in-love-and-game-scam-after-sending-999-stalks-of-virtual-roses-5-times), [3] (https://www.police.gov.sg/media-hub/news/2022/20220523_police_advisory_on_credit-for-sex_scams)

2. The Excuse: They claim to work as a hostess at a KTV or nightclub. They tell you they want to hang out, but to leave work early, they need you to "book them out" (buy out their shift) by paying their "manager" or the "club administration."

3. The Fake Promise: To make you feel safe, they claim they will "refund you the cash" the moment you meet up.

4. The Trap: Once you pay the initial booking fee, the "manager" or "agent" will message you claiming the transaction failed, or demand additional "security deposits," "insurance fees," or "protection money". If you refuse, they often pivot to threats, sending fake or graphic videos to intimidate you. Is "Out-Call" Service for KTV Hostesses Legal in Singapore?

• Inside the Club: Legitimate, licensed KTVs in Singapore allow customers to pay a fee to buy "drinks" or "garlands" for a hostess to sit and talk with them inside the premises.

• Outside the Club: True KTV establishments do not offer "out-call" booking services where you pay the club to send a hostess to an external location for private meetups. Any arrangement involving upfront electronic transfers, gift cards, or cryptocurrency to "release" someone from a club is completely fake. [1] (https://www.police.gov.sg/media-hub/news/2022/20220523_police_advisory_on_credit-for-sex_scams), [2] (https://mothership.sg/2023/11/taiwan-love-scam-tinder-date/)

What You Should Do Right Now
• Stop all communication: Immediately block the person on Tinder and WhatsApp/WeChat.
• Do not send money: Do not purchase AXS credits, gift cards, or make bank transfers.
• Report the profile: Report the account on Tinder to help get it taken down.
• If you have already transferred money or received threats, file a report immediately with the Singapore Police Force or check official safety resources on the Singapore ScamAlert Website.
