I guess it is "karma" when they raise their prices to $30 when times were too good. Like the hotels in Joo Chiat who had been disallowed hourly rentals, I think its a matter of time they will go into history. I mean which tourist will stay in Kovan - no shopping, no tourist attractions, no accessibility? Now, you mention Kovan to any FL, they definitely will say no, thanks. There 1 time i overshot just 10 mins as they did not call to remind....they said must pay $15 for the extension. I even propose pay $10 as not my fault....they threaten to call police. I say i will wait. And the police did not atend..so I left them without paying....that history from now I banned going H81.....they think they have monopoly the industry and fxxk altitude.....

So either all transit hotels close down or have to find new tactic. Eg. on paper, minimum booking is 1 night. But if early check out will give discount. So we can check in at 1pm for 1 night (say $50) but we check out 2 hours later they discount us $30 so we only pay $20.

At the end of the day, i dun know why they doing this rubbish la, we (customer and FL) not disturbing anyone ma....and some more newspaper quoted woman's charter that living off the earning of a WL is a crime. i wonder who they are refering to that is living off the WL's earnings? The Hotel? Cannot be wat, we pay the hotel directly and pay the WL separately. Unless, unknown to us, the hotel has been taking a cut from the WL all this while...

Think the ban likely got to do with the police raid last Thurs where 12 prc were arrested as reported in the Straits Times on 4 April 2010. Too much activities were carried out in these hotels and most probably residents there complaint lol..

went to visit this PRC I know who used to operate in K81.

she got spooked by all the raids. Was warned away by her 'sisters'.

First, she told me to avoid K area at all costs and requested Balestier. Not that I mind, but it's a little far and she used some Chinese term for Balestier which honestly, don't sound the same at all.

Her version is 'some of the girls wore too skimpy and this got the ire of the aunties around the area'. Apparently she heard our boys in blue are also baiting girls advertising online.

It seems that K81 now requires both "identification papers" - IC from samster and probably passport from PRC (assuming she is not an illegal) inorder to book a room. To me this is an extra nail in the coffin; I mean after the recent raid, the biz there practically evaporated. Now no PRC FL wud like to go there and still if this is what they want to do; then K81 would sooner than later "eat grass".

Actually, if we look around, there are a lot more budget hotels at $20 for 2 hours besides the 81s and Frag. They can be found outside G area even. There is something called the Yellow Pages.

But not for long, I heard that owing to some of these PRCs who perceive they have received immunity already, hence they take a step further by being informers... not to the authorities but to their fellow FL/WL jiemeis as they hv all the insider info relating to raids. Hence authorities are starting to be aware of such issues where these conspiracy exist between white carded FLs as well as those who had not received "immunity"

Hence authorities are seriously beginning to consider clamping down on these double spy "wu jian dao" as well because they are abusing the white card system. It's a matter of time these white carded gals will be affected as well. Btw ladies with white cards hv to go for regular extensions as well

Choose a strategic spot and was there for about 40 minutes - didnt see a single man walking into the two budget hotels. Didnt seem to see a lot of cars turning in from the main road either. Agree with power69 tat tis is special vist pass. Its purpose is for the gal to stay and attend investigation, court cases, etc. Let me relate. Once, i got a chance to befren a gal. She got a 1 year work pass to come Sillypore to work for a certain msg parlour as a masseue. Just imagine when she arrived shore, the parlour is non existence. No choice lor, in order to survive n to recover her sunken cost (quite huge), she got to work for others. Eventually, she was caught. Her work pass does not tally so was confiscated. She was issued with a special pass instead to stay in Sillypore in case need to testify against her employer. The case dragged for many months. Finally she decided to plead on compassionate ground to the mata2 to let her go home. She gone home liao.

Choose a strategic spot and was there for about 40 minutes - didnt see a single man walking into the two budget hotels. Didnt seem to see a lot of cars turning in from the main road either. So, they are really swapping flies now.
