I have a Taiwanese doctor friend which I knew long ago. Remembered this particular chat about female patients. We all know that medical staff must be neutral when it comes to naked bodies in the course of their work.

This friend of mine happen to be late 20s when we were talking about this.He did tell me although he's a doctor, there's no way not to get affected when a beautiful female is naked before you. The times where he has seen naked females patients are in surgeries, doing his rounds after surgeries (on patients he has operated on), body checkups.

Of course he'll appear to be professional when facing such a situation but afterall, males are hardwired to think otherwise :D. There are also times when he told me that peers (as in doctor colleagues) will purposely 'sit in' to see the female patients which are naked in various stages. In fact, this is quite common he told me!

One surgery which struck his mind was a female artiste which was totally naked on the surgery table but due to the fact that it's a artiste, the room was cleared expect the people needed to perform the surgery. This friend of mine even jokingly told me that the female artiste's body didn't really look that great :D.

The above is really true from the mouth of a doctor friend. I hope readers here can contribute more interesting stories on this topic.

Hi Bro Needyneeds, i believe u r quite rite. Tink they try their best to assign same gender doctors to do the examinations. But dun really noe the reasons y, some of the gals were still assigned to male doctors as related by Bro AnotherJackAss's GF. Would like to share my story.

Suffered a serious limb injury many many years ago. A few days after surgery, a procedure had to be done in order to check that everything was healing fine. I was informed that a nurse would come to prepare me an hour before the procedure. I had absolutely no idea what that meant, so I was lying on the bed completely relaxed and reading a book. The ward was mostly empty and I had no visitors that day.

She came striding to me with a basin of water and a small bag. The nurse was a slim, attractive Singaporean Indian lady, probably in her 40s, with skin the colour of milk chocolate, very nice and smooth. She was wearing a close-fitting blue uniform, not white. I actually know how to use a stethoscope. If its just listening to chest for irregular heartbeat or noise in lungs when breathing, it's actually pretty clear even through clothes (just have to listen carefully). Most of the time, the ones who are sick are the old people, I think it's not everyday you get a young chiobu to exploit. Just go to a polyclinic, and the waiting time is usually the whole morning or afternoon. How many chiobu patient do you see? Hardly any. For surgery, I don't think their numbers are anywhere near the numbers the doctors see in clinics, given that procedures last a few hours usually. Yes, there are no doubts whatsoever tat it is the implied rights of the examining doctor to instruct his or her examinees to undress partially or even fully esp for those mandatory medical examinations e.g. NS, pre-employment, immigration medical check-ups etc, etc. Whatever instructions given by the doctors & nurses during these examinations are to be followed & complied with, failing which it is understood tat the examinee is withdrawing his/her application n will be considered as failing the medical examination.

So the actual safest way is that if you are unsure, refer the patient to a hospital. But this is very bad for a gp's business. Imagine if every female patient of a doctor gets referred to the hospital, the clientele will think that this doctor is useless, might as well go hospital straight away, no waste time go and see the GP.
