Was having lunch on a friday at Yio Chu Kang and was heading back to my car when i saw a funny incident outside a hair saloon.
There was this girl (quite well stacked and pretty) and a middle age man. Apparently the man is her father. He was scolding her for working in such a place. Saying that man will take advantage of her and that they will ask for special service. While the girl keep insisting that the place is not those kind of sleazy hair saloon cos it only allow female customers. But the man keeps on rambling on about how could she bring bad name to her family.... He stopped when he spotted a guy looking at his daughter. He shouted at the guy to siam and the guy walked away embarrased.
Ha ha quite a good show actually. But seriously the father is over-reacting cos that place really only serves female customer and not those sleazy types one like the father mention.
Hmmmm... I wonder if that man frequents this site cos he sure knows alot of the going ons of a sleazy hair saloon :)

Well, if you are a father too, will you like to see your daughter working in a place like that? Maybe that is the reason why most of the gals are old aunties. Except for those in bigger shopping centers, where the hairstylist are more of younger gals.

How old are you by the way? I think the top hair stylist earn much more than me and perfectly decent... The point is there are decent hairstylists and decent hair saloon and being a hairstylist is a perfectly respectable job to be in... I dun wear special lenses to see other people with different jobs...nor should any father or any person for that matter just equate all hairstylists as indecent and provide specials for clients...

Hey, I am old enough to be a parent of any kids. I do agree that there are many hairstlyist who are out there making a living. And in this case neither am I saying that all hairstylists are making a living with specials. Just to clarify that Most hairstylist are doing nothing indecent. Of course, I know those which are not as well.

Can't really blame the father. As most of us have noticed in recent years, there have been a lot of 'special ' providers using decent business as a venue/coverup to ply their trades.
Spa - used to be just a decent place to relax in a hot pool, sauna and gym facilities.
Tui na - used to be ah pek physicians who give painful massage for sprains and other treatments in chinese medicine.
Salons - need i say more?
In other words, the traditional images of the these trades have somewhat been tarnished/tinted by these 'special' providers.
Any mention of the above and people will give you the suspiscious look or a cheeky smile. :p

Few months back newspaper also reported about Tui Na shops in China town. Now many people knows about special service.
