Haha... Bro, it's true. Honestly I really wonder at times too.. I did try FL or even house. Cos honestly as a married man usually would prefer pay and f than go. Each 5 lbs protein easily cost $80-150 each. Guess u know the ex protein come from muscletech. I easily take 8 scoops per day and each albs only have an average of 60-70 servings per tub. That's easily 3-4 tubs for me in a month. Easily cost me $300 or so per month. That does not includes my L-glutamine, creatine, akkg, multivitamins, and other cocktails that can easily cost me another $2-400 on top of my protein.

U are definitely a sportsman if u know all those stuffs. Than u should also be able to calculate my supplements because I compete too and I train 6 times per week. And I also box 3 times a week.

The amount of supplements and testostorones I have in my body are constantly raging. Can't blame me from losing my patience. As u know, bodybuilders never have patience my bro. Roids is definitely a juice that we competitor bodybuilders do to be very honest. No bodybuilders are clean especially in heavyweight cat. U should know a human body can only grow to a certain limit. And I eat 6 meals per day my bro. So calculate and see how much I spend on my supplements and food per year.

Each 5 lbs protein easily cost $80-150 each. Guess u know the ex protein come from muscletech. I easily take 8 scoops per day and each albs only have an average of 60-70 servings per tub. That's easily 3-4 tubs for me in a month. Easily cost me $300 or so per month. That does not includes my L-glutamine, creatine, akkg, multivitamins, and other cocktails that can easily cost me another $2-400 on top of my protein.

let me show you how inefficient you are as a bodybuilder:

1 tub of protein powder is 5lbs, which is about 2.3kg
70 servings means per scoop is about 33g

you have 8 scoops per day = 264g of protein per day from supplements
say you have 30g of protein per meal x 6 meals = 180g from food
total protein per day = 444g

although there's no real guidelines for protein consumption for this purpose, research has suggests that elite bodybuilders can consume up to 2-2.5g per kg body weight, anything more is excreted.

so if you are 90kg, at the elite level, your protein intake should be about 225g, that's if you're elite level. even let you have 3g per body weight is just 270g. 444 grams? com'on, whatever your body can't absorb, it will excrete out of the body, so it's money down the drain. absorbing the optimum amount, that's what i call, efficient.

steroids don't make you absorb more protein, it speeds up the protein synthesis in a 24hr period, excessive protein consumption in that 24hr period is excreted.

also, bodybuilding is for mostly for show only, rarely see any local bodybuilder who got real world strength, i've seen how your so called national bodybuilders train..... it's a fucking shame.......

Having a built and chielsed physique is definitely superior to having an average physique. Of course, personality is the most major part of the equation, and being a prick like the TS will only "negate" your impressive exterior.

If you are training/want to train, you should not be doing it for others, not for the girls, but yourself. You will not only get bigger and stronger on the exterior, you will also grow internally - increased discipline, determination, self-belief and these will create positive externalities on the other aspects of your life.

The thing to note is the amount of time and dedication those elite bodybuilders are willing to sacrifice for their passion. Seriously, I really take my hat off such people and at times envy them. Life becomes truly meaningful only when you are truly passionate about something. i do agree with you with regards to bro mysterious bashing of what seems like the whole bodybuilding community. i'm am quite sure that he is directing those insults at one particular individual, and in the process of doing so, lead to a generalization of bodybuilders from his personal perception from the people around him.

harsh words from bro mysterious with regards to defining the reasons behind what drives the bodybuilders to do what they do. but in reality, there is always some form of narcissism or self adoration factor involved. which was the main driving force, we will never know.

let's just take a few examples, say swarchenegger who came from a humble background, touched weights, knew he was good at it, pursued it, and made it big. we can safely say he was driven by the desire to lead a better life through bodybuilding. but think about it, who doesn't want to look and feel good about themselves? we are all subjected to this. for him, he got the best out of both worlds.

tiger woods is a great golf player. was exposed to golf at a very young age, got good at it, made it big. now, is his 'passion' for golf purely for the game itself or was it because he knew he was good at it? frankly speaking, we will never know.

like you said, the passion that athletes, martial art practitioners, musicians and political activists are definitely admirable. that act itself is, but what's the reason behind it is equally important. just like that war, was it an act of making the world a safer place or was there some other agenda? sad thing is now we know what really happened.

I'm currently sitting at about 9% body fat last caliper test, which is a little low.

The sport I play is Rugby and I am a winger. Also, genetically I am predisposed to gaining more muscle mass than your average person as I am half polynesian and half European.

I know that Asians tend to have a lighter and smaller skeletal frame but are more flexible, but man after traveling through the north of China I saw a lot of big people out there!!

I have no issues with you taking a dig at the TS (because he is a prick), but by bashing other bodybuilders (who are not like the TS) and the sport only demonstrates your inability not to stereotype.

To begin with, the primary aim of bodybuilding was never to attract the opposite sex. Don’t mix up “training to look good and healthy” (the category most men fall into) and “bodybuilding”. IMHO, like any other sport, passion is the underlying reason. Roger Federer plays tennis not because he wants to attract the ladies but because he’s really passionate about it. Similarly, Ronnie Coleman bodybuilds because he really loves bodybuilding. Linking bodybuilding directly to picking up girls is just a plain insult to the sport, and to the elite bodybuilders (i.e. those IFBB pros) who have dedicated their entire lives to this sport. Do you think Ronnie Coleman gives a damn whether Jennifer Aniston thinks he’s “hot”? If he did, he would be nowhere where he is today.

I do not deny narcissism can be a reason for a person’s passion for bodybuilding. You played basketball for the first time, and you realised you love this sport. Similarly, your cousin took you to the gym for the first time, and somewhat just fell in love with pumping iron. Seriously, passion is unexplainable.

Nonetheless, whatever the reason for this passion is of secondary importance. The thing to note is the amount of time and dedication those elite bodybuilders are willing to sacrifice for their passion. At least these people have something which they are truly passionate about, and they are prepared to devote their lives to it. In other fields, we witness athletes, martial art practitioners, musicians, political activists and so forth dedicate their lives to something which they are highly passionate about. Seriously, I really take my hat off such people and at times envy them. Life becomes truly meaningful only when you are truly passionate about something. How many people living on this earth have found something they are really passionate about, and are pursuing it? Most people are just passing their lives day by day, without knowing what they really want in life.

Beyond those “gleaming ripped muscles” I see years of dedication, hard work, and discipline in the weight room which is something for me to learn from. “Throwing light insults their [bodybuilders’] way that suggests even the slightest imperfections in them” to unravel a “a hideous orc-like creature who will stoop to anything, insults, coercion what-have-you in an attempt beat u into submission” – why would you want to do that? To make yourself feel better by putting others down? C’mon...

The fact is, a significant number of guys in this forum are insecure and/or immature. It's a very Singaporean disposition.

Whenever anyone displays their wealth, or demonstrates they are better off in any manner e.g. muscular, good looking, the bashing automatically starts. Its a knee jerk reaction.

Granted, it may not be in good taste to flaunt, but the statements made often have nothing to do with the issue at hand - but rather because they felt their ego was trampled on - intentional or otherwise.

That being said - I don't think the TS is a bodybuilder in the first place.
