I think the media has overblown the situation in tokyo. Yes we are all concerned about the Fukushima thingy, everyone is glued to the TV, and the streets are quieter. Other than that, everything is as per normal.

Since you are a fellow Toyko-lite, I can share with you that I normally do pickups at train stations, in the trains, traffic junctions (I kid you not), and cafes. By far, cafes are the best for pick ups.

Based in Tokyo. The P4P scene is pretty dead for you, unless you speak good japanese. And that goes for even the pick-up scene. Non-existent for foreign dudes without nihongo. Prices are also way exhorbitant (see earlier reviews).

I was in Tokyo for a few days for a quick getaway during the National Day holidays. I'd like to share my experience that I had when I was there...

Did find some time to walk around the Kabukicho area; abit overwhelmed as I wasn't familiar with the place and I'm not sure which ones are foreigner-friendly (gaijin-friendly) because apparently most establishments have Japanese-only policy.

while you probably have a treasure trove of information here on P4P, sadly the pickup scene in Tokyo is non-existent if you happen to be Asian or of Asian origins. Most often, foreigners flock to Roppongi (which really sucks, IMHO) where you get perhaps some of the worst Japanese women stock in the whole of Japan. Outside of this place, you will find it extremely tough if you are Asian. Women here don't really fancy Asian guys (outside of their own kind) and will keep a wide berth away from you, if you attempt any pickup. I have been told that they feel "disgusted" when they are approached by an Asian who cannot speak Japanese.

Most importantly, set your expectations lower when you come Tokyo. IT really is not what everyone makes it out to be, like in those AV.
