Hi all,

would like your opinion on my future work prospect..

Recently i went for SIA interview as a steward. After many rounds of interview and spend money on shirt, tie, belts, shoes and pants i got thru. But the problem is, is it really that good to be flying around.

I know i will have the chance to bonk many different kinds of girls but is it really that important to travel and bonk girls. When i ask my friends, those who encourage me to go are telling me that i have the chance to see the world and bonk the girl.

On another hand, people who have more working experience are telling me that there isn't a really good career path.

I dun see myself working as a steward for life. so i am little troubled whether i should take up the job. salary wise is not very very fantastic, i heard rang from $3200 to $4000+

guys need your help. I got until may to decide

what other jobs can you get? if you are fresh poly grad, think $4k is not bad.

may be work, gain experience and have fun for 2-3 years, before exploring other lines (e.g. hospitality) or even start your own business

Bro, its just a high class waiter position. You can't be flying for your while life. My friend was an air stewardess for 2 years. She said seems glamorous but she fly until she wanna vomit. Sometimes flying at irregular time, sometimes keep flying to the same location. Until a certain age, sure you can't fly anymore, then you have to look for job. Problem is, what kind of experience, knowledge and skills can you offer? Think carefully for longer future career prospect.

hi,
bro, one thing u yet to mention is ur age. I mean if u r in ur thirties, then having this steward role can be tricky as u might be considering a career than a job. the difference is that a career is a path where u are considering the advancement like what u r doing now.

Still personally, I think having this role is cool. If u keep ur mind open, u really will learn and see more things, ppl and interpersonal skills, as compared to land job ppl like me.

of cos, the fact that u will have a higher chance to bonk sexy SIA babe is also a bonus. :D For the interest of the rest of bros here, I hope u will share ur SIA fb once u create ur pool. hehehe

Seriously, if u find my opinion helpful, and like to know more, just pm me.

Ts bro, you should ask yourself what you want in the first place....
1) Do you think that you enjoy being in the services industry?
2) Do you enjoy traveling to different parts of the world to admire the different cultures (ladies included)
3) Do you enjoy being surrounded by chio lady colleagues and you would want to flirt with them?
4) Is there going to be an alternative path in the industry if you do not want to be a steward anymore. What is the long term plan?

If yes to 1) to 3), and you have a long term plan to remaining this line or industry, my humble opinion - go for it.

Good luck

First few months u feel shiok coz can get to wear nice uniform, take free rides and travel around. Your friends & family envy you. After that u feel sian coz u always kenna fucked by passengers especially thos PPS types. U start to feel like a gigoloo or prostitute coz u wearing so nice for people to see & abuse. U start to sense yr collegues back-stab & bitch about you. U start to learn that you will only get promoted 2 or 3 times (Avg 10 years once) in your entire career until u retire. U also feel that you are not learning much or value add to yourself.

U then start to curse the airline and look for another job.

My friends who stayed on in the industry are either those without intentions to settle down or really love the job. Those who are stewardess are ready to give up the job once they planned to settle down. As for steward, the only guy I know is now looking for better alternatives out there.

bro,
this is just my sincere opinion..i tink there are better jobs and careers out there that u can be in and being in SQ is certainly last on the list...all u need is an opportunity..perhaps u can go into ur field which u get ur diploma in and develop from there...cos to me, working in SQ is self destructive

my gf is in sq..and eventho she has repeatedly told me that she still can cope, deep inside me,i can tell that she is feeling the stress...but becos of the bond, she has to put on a fake smile and tries to pull it through..

since this is a sex forum, i will juz add on a bit...as u all noe,the work time for these cabin crew are irregular and since sometimes they need to go for lon flights, they usually come back, with high fatigue and jet-lagged...so it sometimes affects our sex..

Bro Digby, are you ready to work irregular hours, get called back on your off days(stand by) and only serve economy section for your 1st 2 to 3years, imagine you are a flight to india or china??? Are you also ready for all the screwing from the passengers, captain and your purser??? Btw the looks of the SIA gals has DROP a lot and there are a lot of other airline chicks who are better looking like Asiana, china eastern, ANA, shanghai airlines, vietnam airline etc..... If you are reallly flying in future u will know what i mean, try to bonk the a.m. airlines stewardess if you can:D

My 2 cents worth

It really depends on what alternatives u have, what kind of lifestyle u want and how adaptable u r.

Career prospects-wise, it's always better for stewards than for stewardesses.

Stewards get to keep their jobs longer in SQ and r generally promoted faster than stewardesses.

If u work hard and stay out of trouble, u have a good chance of becoming IFS in your 40s and make close to $10k/month.

Of course a $3-4k starting salary and a cap of around $10k may not be enticing to some.

Others r put off by the irregular working hours and the amount of time they have to spend overseas.

And some r just not cut out to be kind of like an usher/waiter/cleaner/personal assistant on board and serve with a smile.

To each his own. Hope u figure it out soon. :)

Back in the 80s and uptil the early 2000s, scoring stewardesses weren't hard. But there have been many changes since then, not the least a few high profile (high profile in the airline, but hush hush to the outside) cases of stewards sacked for sexual harassment. The scoring-rate has dropped dramatically thereafter.

As others have mentioned, while there is career advancement from steward to leading (not difficult) to chief and ifs, after a few years, the routine of the job will become stale. Airports become a blur, the smell you get as you walk down the aerobridge gets nauseating and the checking of special meals become a chore.

While you may enjoy singing the "the world can see, we've come a long long way...." anthem at the beginning of every class during your training or you hang around the stc-pond bitching and picking on the newbies, you soon realise after you graduate (or as early as your probation) that you're the lowest of the dredges up there. Many have quit after realising they can't stand the bitching or the hierarchical nature of the job.

Then again, gone are the days of flying plates/saucers, carving beef in PCL, getting the mini-ladders on the now-obsolete 7Q or laughing at the aircraft-code for the hijacked KUL-SIN (it's STP, or Shoot the Pakistanis!), so life could be worse. At least now you've got a decently working Krisworld, trays that don't slip, safety videos that look nicer and hardly have to do any live-safety demos.

So my advice? If you love service, try it for a few years and see things go. If nothing else, you've gained more wordly exposure and service experience. If you get some pussy along the way and also like the job, stay on. If not, then it's still a good experience.

I think bro bonkster had it lay out quite well. I mean u r in ur 20s. how bad can it get to try for a couple of years and then decide if u wanna switch?? not to forget ur resume is rather clean for other jobs now. Also a starting pay of 3k is quite good as compared to what other is getting. of cos if u factor in career advancement then all i can say is... the ans is find urself. meaning "so, what do u want" ? don't get me wrong.. i'm saying it in a sincere way.

Alot of sound advice given by bros here on think long term.
My thoughts are similar but from a different angle.

You're in your early twenties, you will be working for the next 40yrs. If LKY has his way, you'll be working forever !!!
Precisely, to think long term. You are only young once, One Life, Live It man!

If you think you will enjoy flying and being a service provider, just go ahead and fly.
Its a good opportunity to travel the world for free.
But i would manage expectation on the "bonking" part. :-)

Forget about career planning for the first few yrs. The last time I checked, ex-SIA Stewards/Stewardess are hot property in the service industry whether IR or Hotel or Sales related career, RM in banks... no short of jobs waiting for you when you're finally done with flying (or bonking). :D

Don't worry too much about practicing what you studied.
Go ask around. 90% of the time, you don't use the knowledge from sch.

Enjoy yourself for couple of years, see the world, you should have a clearer career direction by then.

One Life, Live It! No Regrets!

Good luck for whatever choice you make!

With all d lao jiao here giving u input, here is my 2 cents:
If u are working as a steward to bonk girls -> don't do it. U don't need to be a steward to bonk them. They prefer others bonking them.

If u are working as a steward to travel and see d world -> u may for just a while... but consider your long term goal and decide which is more important to u. If its me, i will anytime work hard to travel, then to work as a steward. Like others said, there is nothing u can learn in being a steward.

But here is what i think u can gain in being a steward. U can fly to different countries to source for things that are not found here and buy them there and bring them back to sell, or d other way. Its free travel and running your own business. So in short, while u are working as a steward, don't see it as an end but see it as a means to achieving your ultimate goals.

Look at d bigger picture, u will be clearer. The only way to look @ d big picture is to see from d TOP, and see FAR.

All d best!

And for d good of all of us who have contributed some advise to u, whether it be good or no good, can u please do us all bros here a favour? Select d best SIA gal for us to bonk every trip? That will be a good reward for us.

Everyone agree?

Bro, if u r looking for prospect, I think air steward is good. What kind of Jon pays $3-4k per month for non grad? $3-4k is the pay for deg holder in their 30s. When u stop flying, join IR or those high class boutiques like LV, Prada, Gucci

If you are looking for Free bonk, don't waste time in airlines unless u r a pilot. Haha!

Give you my 25 cents on this. I'm not with the airlines btw.

If it is bonking stewardess, you dun need to be a steward to do so. Just have friends in the cabin crew and you'll get plenty of chances. As one post had mentioned, things had changed quite a bit. They no longer build a team and have them fly together for a year before switching. So how easy it is depends a lot on whether you are a fast or slow worker. Cause you might only have this one chance to hit it off with the stewardess that you fancy before you're assign to another team. Good things is....since it is not a fix team, it's easier to fuck and go. Steward friends in the past love it when they are a guest star on flights. Higher chances of a ONS.

It is both a good and bad job to see the world. Good as in your destination can be anywhere your next schedule sent you to. Bad as in the days the days you have out station is shorter now. So effectively, after recovering from jet lag, you don't really have that much time to do some sight seeing.

As a diploma grad, you training would most likely be with a bunch of foreign gals....mainly Malaysian. Great thing about Malaysian girls are, they got their own place. So you don't have to worry about finding a place to screw.

Life in and after stewarding varies. I have friends that are chief steward now and working to become an IFS to those that went from chief steward to a taxi driver. Most find a good fit in sales job. Be it car dealers, insurance agent or property agent. There are also those that stick with the service industry working as captains for hotel or restaurant. The better off ones have their own business and are doing very well. It's really opportunities that you gotta seize. Impress a rich bastard and he could offer you a good job. Businessman are always looking for talents and not just a free screw with the cabin crew.

Things to be wary of is watching your expenses. It's not just branded goods that guys have a lesser tendency to fall prey of. It's really the clubbing and boozing that's part of the culture. When you put your credit card on the tab, you are not going to know what is the bill that you gonna be ending up with. Get hit by a hefty 4 digit bill and you don't get a long haul allowance to bail you out. You'll be snowballing on interest by rolling with the credit cards company. That is the biggest trap I've seen many get caught in.

Lastly, don't get fuck in you ass. They are hiring more gay stewards these days. Gays are more attentive and service orientated plus you have less bgr problems. :)

Thanks all for this valuable advice. Thanks for pm too. I agree that controlling your expenses overseas is quite hard. I just wanna let everyone know that honking a stewardess is actually last on my list but because this is a sex forum I want to be a little more honest.

Getting advice here are really different from other forums and friends man. I see a bigger picture now. I received a few pm stating how did I get thru. Interested ones can pm me. I can guide u thru the questions and answer that got me thru. I got zap for being off topic but just wanna know honest answer from honest people and asking samsters here is the best!! U guys are honest and open to anything. Thank you so much. Will post more if I really get a chance to bonk a stewardess man!! Thanks!!!

BernardFrosty speaks truth. Either he's really in the airlines or he's pretty close to someone who is :)

Yeah, they abolished team-flying abt 2 years back. Not exactly a good thing cos without a perma-team, the seniors aren't really that interested or keen to teach the newbies the ropes. In a perma-team, the more you teach, the smoother future flights will be. In batch-training, they'll only teach you up to JCL service. Even then, without proper hands-on or a mentor, all that trolley-service and setup will only be something on paper - the actuality is something else altogether.

The overseas experience is invaluable though, especially if you're a people-person.

Agree on expense-handling too. Although allowances have gone up through the years, so too has cost of living. And with allowances coming in at regular intervals, you'll never see a proper 'lump sum' monthly package except during bonus time. So, handle your expenses carefully.

Having cabin-crew in your resume isn't a bad thing, especially in the service sector but do try to stay on for at least 3-5 years. A 2-year stint in the airline doesn't really impress employers as it shows lack of commitment and too short a period to be deemed as having sufficiently learnt the ropes.

I've left the airline for some time but am lucky that I now work in an MNC and the lessons learnt in the airlines are still applied. So all is not lost and you don't have to worry too much abt lack of prospects thereafter. Just make sure you learn as much as you can and adapt accordingly. Afterall, it's a zappy zappy world up there.

Good luck!
