Ok.. I might get flame or blame for putting this up here, but I don't really care.. Feeling a bit "emo" now as memories just keep washing up of my baby girl..
Some important info here first before any bros read further:
. Those who never like animation please excuse yourself
. Those who never like "soft", "mushy" stuff kind of talk also please excuse yoruself
Thank you...
I love animation. And the following extract is a part of animation called "Clannad - After Story" which I have seen before about 2 years ago and coincidentally I've chanced upon it again in Youtube today.
Why did I decided to start a thread to showcase this anime?
Well, firstly I believe it is a very nice show that is worth to see.
Secondly.. Because it relates rather closely to me.. I am a divorced man, and my ex-wife has custody over my daughter.. It saddens me that I am not able to have my daughter with me and watch her grow up everyday, teaching her manners and behaviours that I'll want her to nurture.. Playing games with her and bring her to engage outdoor sports more often.. This animation portrays everything that what a father I should have been and what I've longed for.. I'm sorry Elicia for being such a terrible dad...
Thirdly, trying to get you guys to cry lah... Ha ha...
Once again, sorry if you've felt that you have been cheated of your time to waste on this.. At least I know I'm not..
Cheers and regards.

Well. You did not cheat me of my time. :) I am glad to read this. Thanks for sharing; hope it did help you release some of the emotional stress you felt.
I understand how it feels to be in your position. You may not be able to do what you wanted for your daughter, but hey, I am sure you are still able to visit your daughter from time to time, correct? Think of it this way, because of circumstances, every moment now spent with your daughter is ever more precious. Do not lament on what you could not do, but treasure what you could do. Be her guardian angel. Small she may be, but I am sure she will recognise your love for her.
Lastly, cheer up! Do your best and believe in happy endings! It may be dark in here with no way out now, but if you hold faith, and do your best, you will surely find a light to light your way out. :)

Hello Gaofar,
It's better for your kid (or any kids) to live with & see one happy parent, than to live with & see two unhappy ones.
You will always be her father.
Nothing will ever change that fact.
*huggz*
Ps: Thanks for sharing the animation with us. It's so heart-warming & touching.

Hey sorry the animes i'm going to mention are very old school ones.... I'm a very sentimental person so, yes animes and their quotes touched me sometimes too..
**1. Chobits - especially the sub-stories where two mini character tries to express the inner feelings and thoughts. How you feel neglected and unwanted inside.
2. Inuyasha - There are certain scenes whereby it makes you feel/understand what kind of stress and pressure you are undergoing when you have a distance relationship.
3.Fruit Basket(i know this is abit girly) - But this anime expresses different difficulties in life for different people growing up with different environment and families. No one has perfect live, just because we are not living it and experiencing it ourselves results in the jealousy that developed. It's surprisingly ecouraging when you are feeling down and emo.
**4.Rozen Maiden - A female friend recommend this to me, i think you will like it too despite the very girly and childish title of this anime because somehow when i read about what you wrote, this anime shot into my mind! The character inside were a bunch of abandoned special dolls that fight to become "alice" the perfect, just to impress their "father".
5.xxxholic - A set of anime that contains lots and lots of meaningful quotes that can applies in almost everything!
The ones that i highlighted with ** are quite similar to clannad and also quite matching with the sentiments you are having now. I am pretty sure that these animes can touched your heart too and might aid you to release some tears in moments you need to relieve the stress you are going through. I can seriously understand your pain! Be strong!

Thank you Sis Bloopz and Bro 天山童老 for your kind words and comments.
Thank you again everybody whom shown kindness and understanding, in my capacity as a father. I suppose when I was posting this thread then I was feeling rather down emotionally and when I chanced upon the anime in Youtube, it sorts of open the floodgate in me..
Nevertheless, I have since try to get in touch more frequently with my girls and in fact later in the morning I'm bringing them out to the zoo.
BTW bro 天山童老, out of the 5 anime that you mentioned, actually I do have seen and collected 4 of them already in my HDD.. Haha.. Never seen Inuyasha though because I never like "ultra-long" series, I'll rather just short and sweet series like no more than 24 episodes..
Thanks again to all who took time to read through this thread.
Cheers and regards.

hey bro Gaofar,
Din realise that u started this thread until u pm-ed me ...
I have oredi replied u since mid July but has not received your reply leh... and I guess u must be bz...
nevertheless really looking forward to having kopi with u and haiz... we ever share some connection b4... ;)
take care and no worries like what love_angel and others had said....
U will always be her father and it is better for her not to be torn and burdened by 2 cannot get along parents.
I understood the "torn" part although my parents din divorce ... but really agonizing for a young boy who dun understand why his parents are quarrelling endlessly and one stormed out of the house leaving another crying...and it has been > 30 yrs ago and yet the memory snapshot lingers still...can u believe that.
Cheers...
hope to meet u soon
:)
Thanks Bro Gaofar for the anime..I love animation. But yes, this is one emotional one..
It reminded me to give more attention to my loved ones..especially a good listening ear. Think I better give a near 100% listening ear to my family today. Hopefully other days too.
Sometimes, a good listening ear is better than a toy or treat for your daughter. Take care bro.
