you can try to catch the first ferry cuz its free to and fro.. the casino will have refreshment for you free too.. and so everything is free.. even the bus carrying you to the casino :)

If u r staying at Farmosa, just cross the road to Mandrin Hotel, got a small casino there. Long time never go liao, so dunno still there anot? Can lao chiao verify it.

There are total of 4 casinos in batam. From tanah merah ferry terminal, the casino is in Nongsa, called Grant Arutha at the Pura Jaya "resort". Provides free ferry tickets, bus awaiting you at ferry terminal to bring all the fresh meat to the slaughter and after slaughtering you will send you back to Nongsa and SG. All so called "free".

From WTC, the casino is at Waterfront City behind Holiday Inn hotel. This is the biggest and most popular. Their runners are at WTC at the booth next to the Penguin counter. U buy the ferry ticket but get reimbursement at the casino. Same deal with ferry, free bus trip and even Immigration clearance. All done at assembly line speed for you.

In Nagoya, the other two casinos are at Goodway Hotel, which is quite small and newest addition is at Planet Holiday hotel, which is quite big. From WTC, take ferry to Batam Centre Terminal, then there are guys carrying the sign "Planet Hotel" to assist you in expediting the partition of your hard earned cash from your wallet. He he. Ah Lau has been patronizing for past 10 years in batam and lost all life savings, including Leisure World.
If you not keen on casinos, got all types of "game centres" can gamble also. The one some samster mentioned in this thread called Lucky Studio is at Formosa Hotel in Nagoya. Got local jackpot machines aplenty like the ones in the football clubs in SG which are now banned. But also got horse machines and the rolling ball games, all controlled by computer and possibly magnets. Go ahead, make their day!!! That's what the operators want in Batam i.e more suckers like ah lau hahaha.

From what i know all the casino operate with sing dollar, they accept rupia too but at their rates. And they accept credit cards too!!!

bro.. wat u say is correct.. u use cash $$ to change rolling chips...wat's special is rolling chips can only b used to gamble.. cannot be changed back into cash... use these rolling chips to bet... u win, the dealer will give u cash chips.. using the cash chips, u can "roll" with the rolling gal again, and she will give u more rolling chips... all these will be recorded in ur rolling card... the more u roll, the more $$ u will get back.. if i still remember correctly, u will get back abt 1 or 2% of the total amt u roll...

btw, if u use rolling gal, as long as u got change $$ to gamble, u can claim ur ferry ticket $$ back as well.. but then if u go on weekend, will nt b the full amt refunded... want room, can also get them to arrange for u.. cheaper rates... if u big player, want drinks or ciggis, they will oso provide for u free...

Seriously, most of the people gamble there are old ladies, or tai tais of rich man. Especially on weedends, there are a lot of grandmas there!

In personal opinion, Singapore govenment is right to consider a casino in singapore, if not these people will rather sped it in Batam or else where. Those who wish to gamble will find PLACES to gamble.

Better to keep the $$$ in Singapore than let others have it. At least even the $$$ "lost" still in singapore.

Actually there is a fellow samster who works for the afiliated company of the casino cruise ship & casinos at Nongsa, Goodway and Marina .. he also always want me to follow him to Batam then he can intro some cina gals to me .. but he got mention that if I become the boyfren of any cina gal in Batam, then I better not go Batam to curi ayam .. haizzz :( I still prefer to go lisco to hunt FL leh .... thats why till today never take his offer.

You need to know the "seller" of the chips there first. They are guys or gals wearing a jacket and have a card printing their comapny name

Get a name card from them, they will tell you how to contact the people in singapore to do all the paper work for you. All you need to do is then take the boat to Batam center, or Sekupang, cant remember which one liao, then they will ferry you to the casino, B4 you go back, they will refund you the cash and your passport as well. THe casino is at the second floor. On the 4th floor, there is another section, however, the amount played there is much higher. Also, there is a Jupiter Club, where it is mostly JACKPOTS.

Try the Goodway hotel. Last I heard is that they even pay the departure fees and tax. You need to go to the counter at the entrance, just give them you name and they will refund you. Take note that you have to take your passport on THE DAY YOU GO, after 12am, they will not refund you the cash, but return you the passport only. And the last ferry is 12 midnite. Planet if I remember correctly, the bus to the ferry leaves at 9.30, much earlier.


Better check out the detail when you are there. I am not too sure. There maybe changes to the timing of the bus service.


If you are going for the first time, take to Batam Center. A taxi ride will cost abt 50k. TAKE ONLY REGISTERED TAXI OPERATORS only, for your own safety.

Water front has a casino also. Biggest so far as I know or been to in Batam. Usually very crowded in weekends.

Nongsa also has one, not so big.

Meals are free at Goodway and Planet.

Good way: Get a voucher at the counter. Then you can eat anything at the entrance, where you see they selling MEE, BAK KUT TAY, Burger, Fried rice and so on. Meal only up to 8.30pm.

Planet: Get a voucher at the entrance at 2nd floor, go to 4th floor and the food there is buffet style. Meal times are breakfast, lunch and dinner, supper usually congee, available after 11pm.

At waterfront, holiday inn, you got to pay 5 dollars sin, for buffet.

Answer to your questions:-

-proceed to 2nd level of harbourfront, buy ferry ticket at Counter 11, tell them you are going to planet casino (they call it Grand Universe casino). Pay $20.
-once u reach Batam centre ferry terminal, no need to "pai tui" immigration, there are guys there dressed in batik shirts and carrying a "planet" sign. Look for them and just hand yr passport to them. Instant immigration clearance!! They will pass you a blue plastic card with a number on it. It is for your passport collection later. Then the guys will escort you to an awaiting aircon van to bring you and the aunties and uncles to the planet holiday hotel cum casino. All u need is to bring yr money to gamble.

Once in the casino, all meals are provided i.e breakfast. lunch, dinner and even supper. drinks also can ie coke, pepsi, tea, coffee. If beer, pay $2.50 only.
- In the casino u can claim back yr $20 ferry ticket and when u finish gambling just go to the staff at the casino entrance and book your return trip. Again there will be people and awaiting van to ferry you back to batam centre. At the ferry terminal, u can collect your passport, immigration card (already chopped for you so u no need to queue at immigration), boarding pass and ferry ticket at the counter next to the "Penguin" booking counter. There is a sign displayed above saying "Planet".
You see, the staff at the casino had already informed the staff at the ferry terminal of your departure time and so all prepared for you. I think even will pay your $3 departure tax. All foc!!!
Alas, the wonders of casino gambling in batam. They are laying out the red carpet for all us SG gamblers to go and try your luck. Competition for your gambling dollar is increasing hence the perks. They only scared u dont come and gamble!!! Good luck and heng heng bros. :D

1) Planet Holiday, I am not sure, but KAHA should be able to provide a cheaper option. But be prepared to wait as the process is rather slow when you are booking and esp if you don't speak Bahasa Indonesia well.

2) Planet, it does seems that Pacific is now the in-place for FL hunting now, though there could be "hidden gems" in Planet... But I do believe it should be far easier to hunt in Pacific. Being there on a Sunday night, the situation is rather similar to that of Planet a year ago while I heard (not been there for a year +) that Planet isn't that populated (by FLs) anymore.

3) The definition of pretty differs from man to man and those of yours most certainly might differ from that of the okt. The standard of ceweks isn't that big in difference but if you really want pretty ones (only looks, service depend on chemistry with cewek and luck), go for those Rp500k ones loh.. like those in Island Garden etc, those belong to the higher quality ones but as usual, there are hidden gems all around, depend on if you can pick them out.. ;)

I normally stay at Harmoni from 1999 till 2000. Later change to Royal Eastern hotel, Oasis and subsequently settle down at Formosa Hotel. Like it because it is at central of Nagoya and most of the time I am always at Lucky jackpot. Night time will be my usual hangout at Ali Shan Ktv.

Formosa is a bit of costly but think back of saving on the to and fro taxi money is ok to cover back the room charge.

As for Puri Garden, I don't think so. Unless Mutiara and Horizon closes, then their business will definitely be affected.
To think Sphinx was able to hold its own when Planet/Ozon were quite hot..
Thats the trend. Its like before Coin, the in place for the local chinese community was Skyline, which was also patronize regularly by the local yappies. But when Coin opens, Skyline's business declined. And it evolve until when Pacific opens, Coins business also drops steeply. Same rationale can be applied to Ozone. Its business declined cause of Planet's opening, and Ozone bad reputation on its obat cases certainly didn't help. And then comes Pacific, and most of the crowds in Planet headed towards there. Now Planet is like Ozone during the period when Planet just opened. Mostly patronized by preman these days. But on the otherhand, there're still gems to be unearth. These issues are pretty subjective and depends on timing and other factors.

In Hari raya, it is considered a holy month. As for this day of 22, we are not too sure yet. But you can always check with the agents who provide free ferry, they sure got info.

Went to Pacific for the first time since I am on this island of batam last nite. Friday nite was not too crowded when I go in last nite, at abt 1045pm local time. Entrance is 20k and it covers a glass of beer.

What strike me most is that at about 1220 or so, there are a few dancers who are hired by the disco to perform dirty dancing on stage. They wore not much when they go on stage and took off all except for the bra and panties. The performace went on for abt 30 minutes. I heard from my friend this show is every nite. I cant comfirm it. Of course, the gals are not my type, boobs not big enough:D, compared to those in Patpong Thailand,where they do such dancing. Just a personal perference.

I guess competion is so great that they have to find ways to attract crowds.

Of course, not to mention that there are tons of FL to choose from, most whom are sitting on the side or dancing abt, see anyone want to take them.
