advise u to go to this as well. DSC is gahment and got its own lab there as well, got subsidised rate some more. If u go GP clinic, result will not be available immediately since they don't have lab to analyse your samples.

Most importantly, will only become big big carrot to chop.

My friend went to SHIM clinic and kenna chop $1300 for 2 visits. And all he had was a simple case of chlamydia. The first visit he was already shocked by a $500+ bill. 2nd visit to verify test results, they pushed him to do another set of tests and charged $700+. :eek:

Understand some people won't want to visit DSC clinic precisely because it is government. But as long as you don't do the AIDS test there, shouldn't have any concern.

It is no different from visiting private clinics as the clinics are required by law to inform MOH if you are confirmed to have std. They will lose their license if they cover up for you.

Yeah, advise him to but he is shy lah. Precisely what this doctor is banking on I'll bet. And he said every customer also kenna chop like that. :(

He said the first set of test he had no choice, because he really kenna STD, so chop chop lor. 2nd time, they were literally calling after him to do a second set of tests (totally unnecessary in my view), plus take a one month course of antibiotics, on a presumptive (meaning guessing) view that he had longer term infection somewhere in his body. We have another friend who said this was total bullshit. hahahah

So i guess ultimate solution is DSC clinic. Good to know.

You mean ALL CLINICS, no matter government, private or even hospitals have to submit your name to MOH if you kenna STD?

It used to be only for HIV but the list has since been expanded to include other infectious diseases/viruses. There is a schedule of such diseases that MUST be reported upon discovery. :D

Ultimately still recommend u to go DSC. They have a night and weekend clinic, there's no reason u can't make it :rolleyes:

There is a lady doctor in Toa Payoh. She is about late 50s. Whenever some guy patient goes to her clinic for STD...... she will call all the female staff into the room and then do a physical examination of your kukubird in their presence. :D

DSC is the Specialists in STDs. Used to be known as Middleton Hospital when they were at Middle Road. They are involved in every aspect of STDs from education, advertisement, testing, treatment, aftercare etc.

no matter how "won't chop you" and "reasonable" the pricing may be, private clinic will not be cheaper than DSC.

I find that treating STD is actually a very profitable biz, just look at Shim Clinic who charge patients ~$500 (yes, it's five HUNDRED).

this is so not true bro.

After u've seen the doc, and before u collect your medication, they'll send u to another room, i.e the counseling room to chit chat with you, find out who would possibly be also be infected. They'll then give u a form, u can "smoke" any names u like. You can don't reveal anyone's name, they don't put a knife to your throat to ask u reveal.

This form is to enable your partner to be treated FREE (FOC), coz the illness is being tag to your name.

actually, even when u enter the door, take the Q # to register, you can already tell the registration nurse that you wanted extra privacy. There's actually a sign there.
