Some Ideas for FLs:

Don't take house calls for first/second time customers or customers you are not comfortable with. I'm not in the business, but I'm guessing that most customers will not opt for house calls, so lost of earnings is quite low. Alone in a hotel with a guy is not without risk, but I think a little less riskier.
If customer start to show attitude before you meet him, chances are nasty customer... so cancel the appointment. He might bad mouth you online, but you can always post your side of the story. SBF bros can also tell the difference from clues like FRs by newly created accounts, etc. If you have customers that have posted good FR for you before, there is nothing to worry about. It's like any other internet review: what do you think of a restaurant on HungryGoWhere that gets 9 good reviews vs 1 bad reviews?
Only 2 FLs have ever asked me for cash up front. The rest wait for me to pay at the end. For first/second time customers, I suggest asking for payment upfront, or at least show the full cash amount up front.
