Also, whilst you have no black and white with him, you have shown that you have done all the work and stuff and have not been paid, there is likely two causes of action for you, one in contract and one in equity. It is not true that oral contracts do not stand up in court, especially as you have put in effort and did things for him, or for the business for that matter... but as others have mentioned, this might not be so strong as you do not have anything written. The other action is in equity, where you can show that he has become unjustly enriched off your work etc... Again these things would be better answered by a lawyer, and I believe that you can go in for a consult with the lawyer, most lawyers should charge very little for the first consult or sometimes even nothing.

Please do not despair and give up so quickly, least consult a lawyer and see if there is any plausible cause of action that may be taken first, not least there is the small claims tribunal which as I have mentioned is not as expensive as a full court hearing.

i have done workmen compensation claims before and it's complicated and by the end of the day no news no outcome no claims done. perhaps i have done it the wrong way but that aside, the point here again is, the $5,500 could have helped Ronn's family by setting aside spare cash for his father's future medical expenses.

financial problems

1. Since you said you are going to NS, ask for stay in. I assume your family
has flat and you probably have your own room. With you stay in at the camp,
you can rent out your room for S$500/mth. Its not much but it will help tide

2. Since you need money and going to NS, maybe you can consider Sign on.
You will get a stable paycheck every mth and unlikely you have to worry

Does your partner recognise you as a co-director? If yes, you should get your dues soon. If no, then you are representing your company to hire that illegal worker. Under business law, the company holds liable to the act of representative (agent-agency act something like that). So this company which is 100% owned by him will get all the fines and warnings. Whichever way, your partner need advise from his lawyer to argue his case.

Last but not least, you both do not fit in a business world. You win some you lose some. I can't believe 2 business partners can fall out over $5,500. It probably wont even cover the image and goodwill of any company.

are asking whether the 5.5K was for the whole 2 yrs or per month for 2 yrs,

For me i think that the 5.5 K should be for the entire 2 yrs, because it
cannot be monthly, so the notion of doing 90 Locks per mth is not credible.

If it is monthly, LovePotion will have an IR8A form that will state the
source of the income, because 5.5K for 12 mths is 66K, more then the
taxable income of 22K/year

This means with the IR8A form, LovePotion can easily prove he was owed
the money, also claim he was a partner in the business, because in the IR8A
there is a section stating the designation in relation to the source of income,
which should be "Director Of The Lock Company".

Sadly i first started to feel sad for TS, but when we probed deeper, he starts
to avoid certain question, so his version is definately no the whole truth.

Like most bros like myself and others who do business, will know what an
IR8A form is, this form is irefutable proof of any income from any company
whether self employed or otherwise.

His downside is that he does not have valid document to stake a claim on the biz he put effort in. On the positive side is he gain the experience to run the biz where the owner do not have at all. He can used that for the future but not now as he's going for NS in a few days.

There are always alot of unscrupulous people and bosses around, karma will bite them back. Happened to me as well now i waiting for my own bosses to return me 4k worth in claims. Only try to taichi here and there say going overseas very busy, make me waited 4 months.

Gotta wise up plan ahead, you still young man, after NS get a degree 5k is nothing. Better yet become an Airforce officer, prospect quite good. Finish service can come out fly aeroplane.
