Just back from my 11 days CNY holiday break to BKK & Hanoi ....

Hope my FRs can provide some information to BKK & Hanoi cheongsters ..

package 1 & 2 comes with FREE coffee/tea ... one serving only ..
dun tried the refreshment there ... some of it is bad ..
must have been there for a while ...

U can choose your massage gal at the counter ...
they have the massage gals photos on the wall ... but dun give too much trust on it ... pictures are mostly taken when the gal are in bad mood so they all looked quite gloomy .... so the ugly looking one in the photo can turn out to be a gem ...

The spa consist of sauna/ steam room ... warm, hot and chill pool ....
nice relax lounge with leather seats ...
clean bathrooms and the waiters are so eager to be of service to u ...
this is definately a nice place to loosen up and relax ..

Massage is so so .... really cannot compare with BKK ....
i dun think anywhere in the world can give the best massage except Thailand .. they're the best ...

after dinner, we decide to go to Hanoi Karaoke ...
was lead to a small KTV room upon arrival ...
a mamasan came in . ... she was very aggressive and try to sell their service to us immediately ..... instead of trying to know the customers first ..

find out that charges are almost the same as BOSS KTV ..
same house rules and territory rights applied ...
Hanoi gals cannot go to other hotel unless we booked a extra room for them ..
otherwise we can stay in Hanoi Hotel and dun need to book extra room ...
KNN .... the mamasan keep telling us that as long as we're happy, the hotel room charges is nothing ...
NOTHING !!! it cost at least US$70 for the room .... including the gal ST ... that will come to about US$130 before tips ...

IMO ....in comparison, Hanoi SPA is a lot better than Fortuna SDP in terms of ambience, cleanliness, friendly environment and services ...
we both agreed that Hanoi SPA is the best place to be for relax ...
the lounge area in Fortuna SDP is very badly lit and this is also where the foot massage took place .... and we can see there are male masseuses ..
that's why we decide not to have foot massage ...

Day #8 (HANOI+BKK)

waken up by the 7.15am early morning call ...
we've to be at the airport at 9.30am to catch the 11.15am flight ..

floor 4 ... all electronic and cellphone shops
floor 6 ... handicrafts and some cloths shops
floor 1 -3 ... all variety of shops .. (i always hang out on these floors .. much more interesting unless u want to get some electronic stuffs) ...
i bump into AOD in Watson .... i dun think it's easy to bump into someone if u're walking around MBK ... there are so many ppl and so many shops around .. but fate will bring ppl together ...

Good and detailed FR bro chinaboy. I had just returned from a trip to Haiphong and Hanoi from 2/2/05 to 6/2/05. First 2 days in Haiphong and the latter 2 days in Hanoi. While in Hanoi I too stayed in Fortuna Hotel.

Well you have tried Boss Ktv and their gers, the spas in Fortuna and Hanoi hotel and I couldn't add anything more to your details oredi provided. However I do hv one encounter which I think add to my enjoyment of my stay in Hanoi was that the ger I had at Boss Ktv stayed the nite and became our tour guide the next day throughout.

In Vietnam I never misses a good salon visit where I get a thorough job including haircut, hairwash, ear cleaning, body massage, manicure, pedicure and facial. All these for around 120k dong or about $13 sing. She brought us to a place called King Model located at 42 Le Van Huu. NOt only did we have the above services as mentioned, we also managed to have a good time with the salon gers with lots of manhandling including boobs and buttocks. Unfortunately communication is a problem as they speak only a couple words of english or else can consider hooking them for sexual services after work.

Next we went shopping at Hanoi's most famous shopping district 'HUNG KAI'.
There are literally hundreds of shops selling clothings, shoes, painting, souvenirs etc. If shopping is your cup of tea, can immersed in this place for a whole day. Having a local ger with you like in my case really helps. Incidentally my ger from Boss ktv speaks good catonese or in their lingo 'pak wa' so it was a easygoing day for us.

Lots of good 'imitation' Nike, Adidas etc goin for 1/5 the price of the real thing.

Incidentally the food at Hanoi hotel is really good. Also I believe the Hotel is HongKie owned not Korean. The resaturant serve good hongkong food and the captain speaks good cantonese. No hassle here when comes to ordering.

For Haiphong, not much to report there except for two cheong places. One is known as Thuy San about 40 mins drive out of Haiphong Central. Have many 'disguised' KTVs there with big bedrooms. No need waste time there as the gers don't speak foreign language. Just pay for bonk,bonked and leave. Cost 300k dong and I picked a really nice SYT with a beautiful body. Service include catbath, bj and fj. Cud have enjoyed it more if can speak some vietnamese.

The second place is a massage joint located at Bach Thang Hotel. Cost only US$5 for an hour. Room comes with an attached bathroom including a built-in steam room. Was able to kiss, fondle and dig my young masseuse. Gave her 100k dong tips before leaving. Had a delicious S$0.50 cents 'pho' beef noodles
near entrance of hotel after the session.

Haiphong is a lot cheaper to cheong than Hanoi but language is a big problem.

wake up around 10am and start to pack my stuff ...
flight is tonight at 1915hrs ....

i always hate this day when u've to pack ... cos it's going back to REAL LIFE again ...

peter called and he says he still not fully recovered and will not be seeing me off at the airport ...
anyway i checked out and proceed to MBK for my facial and foot massage and later for my hairwash ...

rules have changed ?? not sure ... but one thing i am sure is that my timing in Hanoi was during the CNY ... and many things are different than normal .. example the massage tips ... when i wrote 100,000 dong on the chit .. they complain not enough .. they wanted 200,000 dong but i only agreed to 150,000 dong (no hanky panky at all) .. probably they're trying to "milk" the customers during the CNY period and thus everything has inflated ....

This is my comments between thai and vietnam gals ..
i could be wrong but this is my opinion.

Thais MP gals have been more commercialise nowadays ...
it's like "No money, no honey" ...
but the bed service of these gals are great ... they're more experience and know how to do their job well.
There are many pretty thai gals in BKK ... and many dark skinned gals which farangs love them ...

Vietnam gals are very affectionate and are willing to please their customers to the best of their ability .. they always like to treat them like bf ..
they've less experience in bed and thus the quality of them are better compare with thai MP gals ...
Vietnam KTV gals are at least above average in looks ... some are even really a gem ...
they've fair skin, good skin complexion, mostly are small built, very sweet, friendly and beautiful ..
Hanoi gals are better quality than HCM ... they're not been "maximise" yet ..
but things will changed when the tourist industry increase in the coming years ...

that's my opinion of thai and viet gals ...

Haiphong is 2 hrs by cab that cost around 600k dong from Hanoi. Not much in terms of tourist sites but can visit Halong Bay which is 1.5hr drive away. It's a world heritage site and quite similar to Phangga Bay in Phuket but much prettier. Tour includes boat, lunch on board for 4, 2 way taxi rides all under US$100. Tried dog meat there, quite good and cheap. Go for the freshly cooked stuff, not cold meats. 70k dong for 4 pax.

Haiphong is cheap to cheong but you need to have vietnamese speaking friends with you otherwise problemetical.
