Heard the latest news yesterday...not sure how latest this is...the casinos, bola,etc...will be closed for another 3 months...not sure how true this is..any Bro can confirm this news...
This news came from a very good friend working there.

You sure 3 months? What I heard is 1 month. So far no news yet. Looks like the boss in jakarta is keen on closing it for good. Attempts to open have lead to raids, few weeks ago.
Business in batam sure kana hit bad. Not as crowded as usual in batam. Much less singaporeans around

Well, he hates chinese. And the casinos is a big earning for the local chinese gals there. Creates a lot of job for the chinese, becos no malays are allowed in there, so all chinese wat.
He is businessman also. Naturally he see chinese as competitor. Naturally Batam is much more quiet these days.
Imagine all of a sudden a lot of people lost their jobs. And also a lot of tourist dollars gone......

No news yet. As of today. Called up and the inside people still say unknown opening date yet.
Yup, I agree, the casino brings in a lot of tourist dollars. Brings about movenment in everything. Including more gals:D

BTW, do you guys know that there is newly opened posh high-end KTV joint at level 1 of Planet called Gravity Club. I was there in Jan when it 1st opened.
Popped by there 1 night and spoke to the PRC mamasan, named Jing Jing. There were about 10 young and pretty PRC hostesses and she told me the charges, including ST but I can't remember them now. I thought that the charges were kinda steep so I did not pursue further. Besides, I had lost at the Blackjack and Baccarret tables and was not in the mood to make out. But the most important factor was that my family members were there with me on that particular trip and it was not convenient for me to enjoy any sexcapades. :cool:

newyorker, my visit was prior to the fight at OZON and Jupiter Club was also still operating as a one-armed bandit machines joint at the time I was there.

banana, some more info to share with you on the Gravity Club @ Planet:-
1.There are floor shows featuring a couple of young and sexy dancers in skimpy clothes but no strip tease or semi nude performances.
2.There was a local singer and an older PRC singer performing on stage... they entertain requests from the audience.
3.There is dance floor for those guets who wants to dance.
I bought a drink for the mamasan, Jing Jing whereas my friend bought a drink for the local singer... much cheaper than if we were to book the hostesses to sit with us.
Did not stay too long at the club as other things came up. Will update if possible on my next trip to Batam when the casinos reopen, hopefully soon. :cool:

What I mean is that they like to do a lot of road checks, go disco to check for drugs, catch you got $$$ wat. Just wait until the elections here ok first. Some kind of local politican elections. When there is a head to control the govenment, the vices will be open again, then the $$$ will flow, and the situation will be better.
Really headache doing business here also now. The police giving my boss problems, and local gangsters as well. All becos of $$$. $$$ makes the world go around. Becos there is less $$$ paid out from vice. Get what I mean?

What I mean is that they like to do a lot of road checks, go disco to check for drugs, catch you got $$$ wat. Just wait until the elections here ok first. Some kind of local politican elections. When there is a head to control the govenment, the vices will be open again, then the $$$ will flow, and the situation will be better.

Used to go Genting & cruise ships until discovered Batam casinos... cheaper, more convenient and more relaxed with other cheap entertainment besides gambling... like massages, sauna, steam, jacuzzi, discos, food ( seafood and kampong chicken???) and of cos, cheweks!!!
Sentosa casino??? Have to wait for some time i.e. if the govt. decides to go ahead, which IMHO is most likely.
Given a choice, no-brainer... Batam wins hands down. Batam out of the race... stay at home and visit GL Chinatown for some fun lah!!! :cool:

Ha! You think he cares? Frankly speaking, Batam has a lot of pulau kia(nearby islands people) chinese who come to batam to make a living and buy up the houses here also. That is why batam has a lot of chinese. After 1998 riots, many chinese from medan come over here too.
Huan nahs here make a living off the chinese here. Of course, they work and send $$$ back. Casinos is mainly for overseas and almost all the workers are chinese wat. No muslims allowed, so the affected ones are mainly chinese.
But Kalla also too short sighted. If there are more tourist, it benefits all, not only chinese, just that he too narrow hearted. He may be a businessman, but not a good politican.
Just waiting for his time. Not too sure SBY can last how long. But I rather have SBY than Kalla anytime.

Horse racing- You notice that there are many seats? I heard that the machine is programed to make the least bets horse cross the line first. Making the wins least. So that the pay out is not that much
Rolettue- The machine version also the same, preprogrammed to let the balls to fall into "certain" sectors. One friend even suggest that there is air blowing from the most pressed numbers.

Like that ah, dun blame me for misleading then.
Heard on the 8th the casino did open for business but kenna "disturb" by police again after half an hour. Now the rumours is 14th this Sunday the casino will open again, usually on the evening around 5pm.
Also dunno why Straits Times suddenly reports on the Batam Casino Situation on the 8th, maybe to add pressure not to allow casino to open. Hope they keep their mouth shut on Batam Casino. Once they report, Indo government gotta give face and react abit.
By the way, 8th (Monday) report is about Casino operators waiting to go to Batam court for illegal gambling charges. KNN like that Straits Times also want to kay po. If this Sunday got reports again then likely no open, that's how I think.

just returned from BatamView at Nongsa. Heard from the staff that casinos will be opening this Wednesday (purajaya) bec the polisi "ada ganti". Also means that all casinos in batam ie planet, waterfront will be open on that day. Anyway don't know how reliable this info as others may clarify. Esp those who are real 'itchy' after more than a month of closure. Batamview also just opened its jackpot room 3 days ago. Was closed for month bec of the island-wide restriction on gambling. So just a gauge for those really desperate gamblers and on reliability of the above info.

Unlikely la. Heard the new chips already arrive, parts of casino already finish re-renovate. Guess the casino operators just have to sort out the difference with the police and/or military and/or whoever. Don't really think they will close for good.

Even the weekends are pretty quiet. Picked up a friend at the ferry. THe crowd is alot lesser also. Went to mandarin. So quiet also. The massage place also full of WL, no customers.
Ticket price for Indonesian passport holders drop to 12 dollars. Wah Lao.
Even A1 restuarant also rather quiet last sat and sunday... Wonder where did everyone go to..
Holiday Inn will close down if this goes on....

You sure 3 months? What I heard is 1 month. So far no news yet. Looks like the boss in jakarta is keen on closing it for good. Attempts to open have lead to raids, few weeks ago.
Business in batam sure kana hit bad. Not as crowded as usual in batam. Much less singaporeans around

The proposed casino in Lagoi is located at the old Wisma BRC besides the ferry terminal in Bintan.It's undergoing renovations now...
The one at Barelang is still pending approval even though the zone is slated as tourist area as in Lagoi..

In the past can go counter 11 at Harbourfront, pay $20 can get refund in planet casino, still got pple clear immigration for u and also free bus ride to Nagoya and back to Batam Ctr. just hang around casino then claim $20 refund. Also free ferry to Nongsa if going to Purajaya casino of also to Waterfront casino. Nowaways no such kangtao hor!!

Yesterday I was in Lucky Plaza, when I saw the reopening of a poker slot machnes. THose of you who goes there will know where I am refering to. Locally and in Jakarta we call them "micky Mouse".
Whether they are open for good or open for a while I am not too sure.
basically, I prefer casinos than slot machines.

Chinese Girls in batam is quite pretty. Managed to hook a dealer there. Ask her lots of casino.

- They are just like robots
- These chinese are the not rich type
It take me almost half a year to get her. The casino is strict so i have been thinking of ways to get her phone number. In casino, no chance to have private talk.
