Ten years later.....

I was on a business trip to KL. After a week of hard work, finally can pack up and go. As I was schedule to take the flight next day 3 pm, I still got time for some shopping. I was staying near Lot 10, so that would be my starting point.

As I was busy shopping, my eyes were busy too looking at nice looking mei mei. I bought a dress for my wife and a game for my 8 years old son. At last finished all the purchase that I needed. I settled down in Starbuck with my ice-blended chocolate. I was enjoying the people as they passed by.

Suddenly someone caught my eyes, I was not sure was she the one that I knew years ago. The answer soon appear as she smiled back to me.

'Mandy, you are still as beautiful as we last met.' I joked.

'Joe, call 'uncle'' Mandy said to her 9 years old son.

Joe smiled, ' Uncle, how are you?'

I replied,' Good boy'

Mandy sat down with me and let Joe ordered their drinks.

'When did you get married?' I asked Mandy

'Why do I look like I need a husband?' Mandy's answer shocked me.

'I am running some small trading company. Life is ok.' she continued.

'Why are you here in KL?' Mandy asked.

'I am on a business trip, will be back to s'pore tomorrow. Where are you staying now?' I asked

Joe came back with their drink. He answered,' Mummy and I are staying in Cheras. Uncle, are you mummy friend?'

'Yes, your mummy and I are very good friend many years back,' I pat on his head.

'Are you my mummy's ex-boyfriend?' Joe asked

Why a 9 years boy asked this knd of question? How to I answer Joe? ( Mandy and I used to be an item)

'Why you so Kapok?' Mandy spoke to Joe.

'How? Does Joe behave like you?' Mandy said in her cheeky way.

If look closer on Joe, Joe do resemble me about 70%. The kapokness looked like me. Joe also so talkative and out-spoken just like me.

'Do not tell me Joe is my son?' I joked.

'Joe, tell 'uncle' your full name.' Mandy talked to Joe.

Joe said out loud,' My name is Joe Lim Si Kiat (林思杰）. Uncle, What is your name?'

I replied,' Mine is Alvin Lim Wee Kiat (林为杰).'

'Uncle, our name only different only by one word.' Joe was so excited.

Mandy put down her drink,' Does that answer your question?'

Serveral answers popped in my mind.

1. Is Joe really my son? Yes or No?
2. Was Mandy pulling my leg?
3. How can I be sure?

'Mummy, is uncle my daddy? I had never see my daddy before.' Joe asked

'You like uncle be your daddy?' Mandy asked while her hand was stroking on Joe's head.

'Can I called him 'daddy'?' Joe was very excited.

'Mandy.., Hmm.. How do I going to put it?' I asked.

Mandy just gave a sweet smile,'Me too. Not sure what to tell you.'

'Anyway, since Joe like to call you daddy, then you just become his daddy.' Mandy tapped on my shoulder

It was a pill of cold cold over my head. What had just happen?

I needed to know the truth and Mandy was not very cooperative on this issue.

We chatted for an hour.

Mandy asked,' You want to come over to my place?'

'Why not?' I replied,

At least, I could find out more about her for the last ten years, how she managed?

We arrived at Cheras by taxi. Joe rushed to press the bell at the main gate of a normal 2000 sqf terrance house. There was a Toyota Camry parked in the car pouch. In a short while, there was a barking full grown German Shepherd rushing to the main gate. When he saw Joe, he stopped barking and wriggled his tail ferciously.

The maid rushed out to open the door and pick up the gorcery Mandy had shopped just now.

'Got time to stay for dinner?' Mandy asked me.

I nodded.

'Mary, please prepare dinner for 3 of us. He like spicy hot food' Mandy always speak with her gentle and polite manner.

Mandy still remember my liking.

We stepped into her house. It was nice and simple in decoration. The floor was sprking clean and things in the house is well organised. It really gave me a warm house feeling. I really like the place. I looked around trying to spot Mandy family photo. I could not find it.

'Invite a male friend back home for dinner, will your husband not like it?' I asked.

'I told you before, I do not have husband.' Mandy raised her voice a little.

'When are flying back?' Mandy asked.

'I am flying back home tomorrow.' I replied

'I thought we can do some catch up.' Mandy sadly replied

'I think I can extend my stay for a few more days.' I said.

'It will be great, if that is the case, shift in here to stay for these few days. I have a visitor room.' Mandy happily said.

'After dinner, I drove you back to hotel to pick up your luggages.' Mandy continued

If I were you, I will not stay at her place. She is quite emo and even names the kid to remember you. If you sleep there, she might just wake up and stab you for her tough life as a single mum. Esp if you say things she doesn't like hearing, like your family back here. Better to stay at the hotel and have a place you can safely retreat to in a foreign land. The daily travel from hotel to her home won't be that far right?

After dinner, Mandy drove me back to the hotel. While on the way back to hotel. We chatted on the things and times when we were together. We are Poly schoolmate, I was 1 year her senior. Both of us were member of TKD club. She liked to do kicking and sparring. We are black belt when we joined the club. Our instructor are the old school type who allowed boy and girl to do light contact sparring. As we were practising unarmed combat too. Mandy was my sparring buddy. We did demo to the junior as well do demo when there were school function.

It was was not long that we started to date. It came so naturally for us to become an item. It was our puppy love. Sweet memory returned to my mind.

'What are you thinking?' Mandy asked as she saw me smiling to myself.

'Just thinking of our Poly days.' I answered.

'It was like yestersday.' she sighed.

'Do you remember our first kiss?' I asked.

She blushed,' Of course, that was in my house and my mum came into my room without knocking. I was so 'paiseh''.

'Me too.. How is your parent?' I asked.

'They are in Austrilla staying with my younder brother.' Mandy replied.

We reached my hotel in no time.

She slapped lightly on my chest,'Stiil so naughty?'

'To you only.' I peeked her cheek.

'I want you.' I held her close to me.

'No, today cannot. I am on red alert. Wait another 2 days.' Mandy replied.

'What to do? I needed you. I want you even you are on red.' She had just turn on my sex drive to the max.

We went back to Mandy place. I suggusted to Mandy that I could extend my stay in KL. I purposely looked at her facial expression. I could feel that she really like the idea.

'Let me arrange my company matter and I can treat it as a holiday, Anyway Joe is free this few days before school start.' Mandy delightedly.

We chated about life after she left Singapore.

"Why you never try to contact me all these years?" I asked.

"I did try to call you but at that time you are in the army and I needed to return to KL to look after my dad as his heart attack getting worse as his work load as increase." Mandy said.

"OIC, I thought you are mad of me due to I spent some time with Kelly after her break up." I said.

"Do I look like a girl that so easy jealous?' Mandy replied.

"Who know?" I joked.

"Do you know that since you left for oversea training for 3 months, it was after 1 week that I need to rush back to KL. You were uncontactable. I told Kelly my contact in KL. She said that she would relay to you" She said.

"No!!!!!. Kelly did not said anything. After I came back to Singapore, the very day, I lost my handphone. They give me a new number. I was unable to retain the old number for some reason." I said.

We travelled up to Penang as Mandy missed the food there. I was fine with it. Mandy and I took turn to drive, while Joe and his maid sit behind, it was a long ride. Joe will keep talking and asking my personnal life, this included job family and hobby. When he was tired, he will just zzzzz.

While Joe was sleeping, Mandy and I had a good chat.

She is still the amazing girl that I known.

When we reached Penang, we go for food of course. A rule of thumb, look for the longest queue. After sight seeing a few place, we settle in a hotel which is near to the beach.

We had 2 rooms but I would be alone for the night. (Do not think crooked.)

I was die tired but unable to sleep. After much tossing, I gave up. I decided to go for a stroll on beach.

Just as I was stepping out, I saw Mandy's room door was opening. I waited a while. Just as I thought, it was Mandy. Mandy was surprise to see me too.

'Looking for me.' I joked.

'Just can't sleep, thinking to talk a walk along the beach.' she replied.

'Then I accompany you.' I said.

She just give me a smile.

There was nobody on the beach at this hour. We took off our shoes and walked on the waterline. Suddenly she held onto my arm and started to kick the water.

'I missed this feeling, it feel like many years ago. I feel that l backed to my teenage year.' She said.

'Me too.' I replied.

'Except that you already had a tummy.' She smiled.

I started to tickle her, she moved aside.

She ran away.

'Try to catch me.' She laughed

She kept running and always kept a distance away from me.

After 5 mins, still unable to catch hold on her.

'You lied to me, just now I was really out of mind. My mind just blank.' She said with a beautiful smile ( can really feel she is happy from her heart) while still allow me to hold on her.

'I am sorry that I lied to you.' I peaked on her cheek. I was touch by her sincere expression.

'I will not lied to you again.' I promised.

I peaked on her cheek. Follow to french her. She was ready to respond.

After a while, she pushed me away.

'How about your wife?' She asked.
