I smile back at him. He walks towards me... ohh... how do I face him?

Gary: Hi Daph, it has been a long time. How are u?
Me: Hmmm... I am good, thanks. How are u?
Gary: I am good.... (He looks at me with those eyes...)
Me: How old is your baby? (I smile at the baby... it must be a boy as he is wearing blue)

Just then, I hear a woman's voice.

Woman: Hey Gary... there u are...

I think to myself, that must be his wife. She walks towards us. She is well dressed, long soft hair, slight make up but it looks nice on her. I feel... pain.
I squeeze a smile at both of them as the woman slings her hands into his arm.

Woman: This is?
Gary: Oh Gail, this is Daph.
Me: Hi, nice to meet you (I extend my hand out for a handshake)
Gail: Oh hello... so you are Daph (She looks surprise and shakes my hands forcefully... as if she knows some secrets)
Me: Yes
Gail: So you are the one who stole my brother's heart?

Gail: Come, pass me Daniel. You are not a good babysitter... he cries all the time when u carry him. I cannot leave him with u even for a second. And Daph, my brother

has been single for the past 2 years. My family is wondering if he is going to become a monk! (She laughs)

Gary: Hey Gail... u have been talking too much...
Gail: Yes yes... I am sure u guys have a lot of catching up to do. (She looks at me... ) Mind if I ask if u are still single?
Me: Hmmmm..... yes.... (I was surprised at her bluntness)
Gail: Good, I will make myself scarce. I will take a cab home on my own... U guys have fun. Nice to finally meet u Daph. U must be really special. (She winks)
Me: (I blush... and awkward) Nice to meet u Gail.

She left and we are alone on our own. There is a level of awkwardness between us. Not sure if it is due to what Gail has said... or the memories of the things that we

have done together. Gary walks towards me and saw the heart pandent on display. I look down... unable to perceive his reaction.

Gary: Daph, I really missed u. I think about u all the time.
Me: Gary.. I...
Gary: I have never forgotten u... (He reaches into his pocket and takes out the heart pendant... ohhh... he still has it) I bring it along with me all this time. I

want to give it to u in case I bump into you someday.

I am speechless... I start to tear... ohh... I am so touched. He feels the same way as I did. He has never forgotten me...

Me: U were always on my mind Gary... I tried to forget u but it was hard.
Gary: (He leans close and takes my hand) I love u Daph, can we start again?
Me: Yes....
Gary: Oh baby... (He hugs me... )

I let my tears of joy flow...
