I was in Pearls' Centre last Sunday. On ground flr got one hair cut place call Just Cut. Those clean Japanese type haircut centre that only cost $10. There are two cutters there. One of them quite chio and young. My friend kena her while i got the other one also young but not so chio. MTW is low profile, not situated in yr fanciful orchard or city areas, n it's clientele is more of those in their late 30s n above. used to go there quite often some moons ago but have quitted as standards have since dropped. hairdressers r mainly s'poreans n msians. if u r lucky u may juz find 1 or 2 SYTs.

JC area oso got a couple of hairdressing shops with d same concept i.e clean massage + haircut/wash. didnt take note of d names but few mths bk went to 1 (near indian prata shop), not bad ... got 1 or 2 SYTs. N their haircut standard is decent, price reasonable.

Due to the increased competition, many of these saloons are actually offering quite good prices for cut & shampoo (some as cheap as $18), better services and of course some use chio bus to lure us in... :p

Salon 916 has been around for quite sometime (guess about 10 years or more).Intially it was just like any other HDB salon usually patronized by those bookies type of guys (smoking, gambling, etc).They were especially crowded during CNY where playing black Jack was a big thing.
The recent few years the image of the salon has changed, now more "high end" customers are common and long gone are those bookies types.
The gals there are all Malaysian and some of them are really one timers.
Dated some of them for partying (some already went back Malaysia and got married).
They do not provide any "special" services but if you do get to know them well enough and like you....anything could happen. My buddy did managed to bonk one of them after which my buddy never wnet there again..scared she super glue.That particular gal is still working there now.
The prices is a tat more expensive that the normal HDB places but some of them could really give an awesome hairwash/massage.
The gal themselve dont really earn much thus tips are greatly appreciated.
The place is located ate Upper East Coast road, opp. coffee beans.
There was another branch in Siglap center previously but not too sure if it's still there.

Well, above is what I know since I have not been there for a while now (been going there for the past 8 years)...now regular at MTW.

Sorry guys, many will know i old timer like to bring back history. If i'm correct uni sex hairsalons appear in this country around the late 80s. I recalled after NS 25yrs ago, where i was staying at Commonwealth Close. The i think Commonwealth Drive market had 2 such shops, stylists were SYT Malaysian gals.

That time was i think $8 for haircut, normal shops charged $5, the ladies don't really know how to cut hair 1. Today, $10 for normal some even markup to $12 same don't know how to cut and, almost same styles probably trained by same schools.
