Hi Bros,

Know that bros now and then will go to GPs to ask for advice for STD / HIV. Besides DSC and AfA test site, can bros PM me or advice as to which docs (location and name would be good) are more specialised in STDs, or have more expertise and experience in this area. Thanks!

Yes I agree with bro Wowzz. Dr Cheok of Cheok Clinic at GL Lorong 21, which is situated in a commercial building directly opposite GL 16, is a very experienced GP specialising in STD.

He has been practising since the late 70s. :cool:

I think those GP specialise in STD should be good in enough.
The Kreta Ayer clinic Dr Tan is good leh... He also can see skin problem...like acne rashes etc. He has been around for ages..
Very experience one. You go his clinic can see a lot of prostitutes walk in and out. I think they go there for some routine check up.

In other word, beside the blood test for HIV and VDRL, do they do the smear test and Type-specific serological tests?

Thought only DSC has Type-specific serological tests. Is it true??

If the clinic does not offer the full range of test, then may still need to go back to DSC after all.

Can bro who has gone to the 2 clinics before shed some light on what was tested.

Dr Cheok is very good in STD treatment. Most of the time, I will go and see him when I feel pain or irritation at the penis and genital area after each seesion at HC. He is very thoroughout and will inspect your penis and genital carefully. Normally he will gives an injection and some antibiotic to takes. All the pain and irritation will goes away after that.

But be upfront when describing your encounter, every little details you need to inform so that the good doctor can better assessed your situation. So far he has never conduct any test, smear, blood or urine as he said don't waste money, it is not necessary.

Advise from Dr Cheok is that as long as you have condom on for oral and vaginal sex, there is no need to worry. And please don't lick the pussy or insert your finger into the pussy and taste it in your mouth. Also PRC street walker posed a higher risk as they do not generally bother to clean up probably.

Sad thing is Dr Cheok's clinic will be relocated soon due to MRT line digging work. Came out in the news. Not sure where he will moves to, so catch him fast. The clinic number is 67436636.

thanks for the info. went to Dr Tan but he was not there during lunch time. so went to Smith st. This old dr is quite kind and said I got inflammation with my dick. he told me it should be monilia (I think one kind of fungus) and it may due to my long foreskin. I did test before at DSC and that dr said there is no STD and the inflammation might due to allergy.

any way, this time he gave me an injection on both side (could not walk properly after out of the clinic), and some antibiotics I guess. I would appreciate him if the medicine could help me out of this problem during several months.

the medicines are damn bitter and made me drowsy and headache all the time. the inflammation gone (skin not red) in the first two days. unfortunately, it comes again and appears the other areas itchy as well. just wondering whether I should go back to see him again or go to KA clinic.

btw, I asked for the receipt even the old male assistant did not want to give me. the receipt could be treated as antique, it is as old as in Japanese occupation. How can I submit this for a claim? everybody will be shocked. any way, will the insurance company monitor this clinic?

It seems my problem is still there and worse. have to see K A Clinic and hope to find a solution. Half year ago went to DSC when the problem came in the very earlier stage, just some irritating but no inflamation. But DSC could not find any STD probem. They may not treate fungus problem as STD.

Just some updates after I visited Dr Tan. It seems he's specialist for skin problem so he told me what I have is a skin problem which is more frustrating ome than normal STDs. STD could be easily cured by injection and anti-biotics. Unfortunately the skin problem is always long term and could not be cured permantently.

That's really funny, I did not contract STD but fungus, around little head so have to rest lah. Next time will visit here first rather than DSC directly as we guys are too worry about this.
