Sorry to hear about your father. Hope he will get better. I believe the hospitals should be open to negotiations when it comes to paying bills. Perhaps you can apply to pay it back via installments or apply for MediFund?

Please try not to be a fl. I know times are tough but you may end up regretting doing this, esp after you had cleared off the debt. Since you are currently working, ever tried to borrow money from EzyCash. You can borrow money from a post office if the amount is not too big. You should really consider all the options given by the Bros here. There are many ways to enlighten your finacial burden right now and yes, being a FL is one of them but this is strongly UNADVISABLE and should only consider it after exhausting all the other options list by the other Bros. It will definitely bring you much anguish and regrets in future.

Jessie. If you have siblings I suggest you pool your medisave together since you are employed. One of the rules is children can used their medisaves for their parents. Give CPF a call ASAP before contemplating going into FL. In your desperate situation you might not think of this alternatives.

My dad twice had cancer and now is fully recovered. We too had financial difficulties. We approached the hospital for financial help and indeed it was helpful. I suggest you doing the same.

just a few cents of thoughs and advice...

wat the bros earlier have mentioned are probable and better solutions to resolve ur financial problems.... having to enter into FL does not provide you with substantial amount since you are only free for that 3 hours...

in fact, why not transfer your dad to a government hospital like Tan Tock Seng or NUH, from my understanding GH is more of a private hospital now and has limited capabilities in helping financial subsidy unless ur father is a government servant...

check out with above mentioned hospitals, they do provide installment repayment and compassionate financial aids to those having such difficulty...

or seek help from ur relatives in this... going into FL line is not exactly a good thing since u have a proper job and life... there are ups and downs in life.. so try not to take the drastic move becoz of impulsiveness or desperation....

in addition, hope ur father will be well soon... and try not to worry or think too much.. get ur family and relatives to help out if need..

You should heed the advice from the brudder.
(get hospital finanical aid, borrow from relatives and friend and bf, apply for Govt assistance via MP, loan from bank, use of family members' medisave, transfer to cheaper ward, get another temp work)

FL is not an ez work, and like what some brudder had said, it may haunt you in the future...

Although you may think this is a temporary solution to raise fund to help ur dad, but think also of yourself. You may not do this forever but this bad memory will stay on with you forever.

Problems will always lead to solutions, but which is the best solution to adopt u will have to decide carefully.

As other bros had already offered u with various advice, i also contribute one.
I think u may also try to speak to the MP of ur area and ur MP might be able to help u on this, of course not possible to waive the medical fees but might be able to negotiate with the hospital for instalment scheme or partial payment first.

I suggest that you do not enter this line. You can do like most bros here suggest and go the singpost for the easyloan. Or you can try TCC. It is a non-profit institution different from Banks and Finance Companies. It is setup to help its members. You can take a personal loan from them at about 12.8% per annum interest. All they need is you join as a member and put $10 a month into a savings account with them. You will also need a surety for taking the loan. The bad stuff u experienced is just an ounce of the badness in the world girl... u have not physically and personally experienced. I have heard so many horror stories from FL's and WL's. Just leave it bitterness behind and move on..

Jessie is real and she really faces financing problems - his dad’s medical fees.

I had email Jessie last night and suggested her to get for hospital financial aid, because my cousin working at that department (GH). I did give her the contact no. My cousin call me just now confirm Jessie is real, my cousin and her colleague will interview Jessie this evening to discuss about her dad’s medical fees. As per what I know, her family still owes GH a big sum due to her mum previous hospital bill also.
