Any bros need some pocket money every month for his HC or geylang,can consider this.Recently i went to ktv and get to know a china gers,she wish to keep their money in bank but unable to do so,because she cant open bank account unless she got work permit.
she need the bank account badly because she cant keep their money in her rented room(share with 3 persons) or bring along to work.she offer $200 everymonth for using ur POSB/Uob account and atm card.
I wanted to earn that extra money,but due to my house got a very strict CO and furthermore we have already open a share account.

Bro, I think not necessary so, I have many Chinese friends who do not stay in Singapore but has an account here....If I had remember correctly, they just need to provide the bank with their passport, their Chinese I/C and if she has a driving license will be sufficient. I hope I dun miss out anything...

Beware my bros.... foreigners are allowed to open bank accounts if proper documentations are provided...
Using your name to open an account may invite trouble like money laundry or other illegal activities ( ie drug/terrorist...)
Especially if they are willing to give you $200/mth just for that? it's too easy money bros...

1 ktv gal i noe keeps her cash wif an 'agent' who help her 'look' after her money....
then when they go back the agent will return her...
but one fine day, she was unable to extend her visa and was forced to return to homeland and she got problem looking for the bloody agent who was holding her money....
so it might be better to keep in the bank...

Something is wrong somewhr. China pple no probs to open bank acct in S'pore with proper docs.

Unless:
1> Came using a fake passport, Which many is doing it in china.
2> The money came from dun know whr, Illegal means ?
3> Illegal transactions to be made using yr acct.

Bros, Proceed with cautions. IMHO this is not quite rght, if you hv credit card probs, income tax probs then its gonna be a prob when asked for enquiry for whatever reason. How're u gonna explain all the cash, u lend someone yr acct ?? If by illegal means, lagi worse, u end yrself in court explaining yrself if that fella gets caught. Unnessary trouble, bottom line is that you dun even know who is the person u lend this acct to. It might land up this acct is meant for someone else, not the one u lend it to. Get what i mean ?;)

No Offence to anyone. There are Ah Long that accept ATM cards to extend loan. This is not a hoax; go and ask those in coffee shop and they will tell you.

Could bank give you loan? Yes! DBS just doing some telemarketing recently and you could easily sign up.

As for opening a bank account, I open a saving account and a fixed Deposit account in Malaysia. But I am a Singaporean and I do not work in Malaysia.

On banks checks on money laundering; it is only when depositors put in a huge amount of money eg in excess of 50k that the staff will asked where the money comes from and that is also about all - unless u put in several 100k than u asking for trouble. But working girls even FLs etc shd have no problem depositing money.

I can confirm that all you need are documents to prove that you have a local address. However, that is already tough since there is no prove nor documents to show that especially for someone with a social pass. Therefore, either show a pass with a local address, or the utilities bill with the applicants name on it. Otherwise, no way at all. How do i know? Im a banker. :D

Yup....my Chinese friends also shows his china utilities bills when he opened an account in singapore....the bank basically needs an address for them to send out the bank statement every month I think......so address may not necessary be singapore address.....
