Sorry for the OT post but I really need you guys for help!
My friend Jack and I work under a same company whereby there is 2 junior collegues (call them Tom and Dick) who like to behave like big-shot and always trying to avoid doing production and always hugging on doing paper-work. Since our company is very new there isn't any boss to monitor them (as the managers are all very busy).
Both Tom and Dick had no heart in doing work at all and they packed up and left 15 mins before actual time. My friend and I are very pissed off with those 2.
We had actually complained to our boss many times liao but our boss told us to bear with it. Now is that my friend really cannot take it anymore and wanna resign tomorrow. I also planning to resign too...
Can anyone pls advice me how to deal with them?
Thanks!!!

IMHO: there is no prefect human being, what u perceive as good intention, might nt be perceived as good intention by others. Thus you have a difference in opinion. Ie working styles, some people wanna total control or free-rein, democratic.

If the production tgt has been hit, they are free to stop work. Unless you wanna to squeeze every drop of blood from them? But you think again, how much are you paying them?

Well, my advice for u:
Only leave your job, when you have a job waiting for you.

I feel everywhere is the same, one muz learn to adapt to the environment. Everyone has their long-comings and short-comings.

Man is not the creature of circumstances;
Circumstances are the creatures of man

Hold it bro, dun break your ricebowl over such issue. Not worth it unless you have already found a new job with a better and conducive environment. Dun worry my friend, it's about time when these 2 scums will get the sack.

Bro, I sympathise with you on your problems..... but where's the "sex" part for it to be posted here? Or to even start a thread?

We got to be fair to all members and cannot just because we are seniors, can "break" the forum rules without getting flamed or zapped. Hope you understand.

Cheers

Bro, I'm not the Boss lah... so I don't have that power to "close" a thread, kekekekekeke

You could always posts in the Newbie Section, or if I'm not wrong, there's a "coffeeshop" forum. Maybe in the TCSSS thread may be more appropriate.

Jusat don't want newbies to feel that as seniors, we can do anything we want as when they post something not right, they kenna left, right centre from us.

Hope you get over your issues.

Cheers

hi virgin lover,

as what the others said, leave only if you got a better offer,in this economy,u suffer if u walk out a hero, btw you and your peers worked hard,i m sure the appriasal would be in your favour, not the lazybums.even you walked out,u can't be sure that your future colleagues would be nice ones or not.I've also had monstrous backstabber colleagues and beastly superiors before, just play smart, bro.

I think you & your pal just try to do half of whatever works in the office, and then always leave half unfinished. Try to get some of the customers to complain, or some projects to fail, then the boss will need to do something.

Anyway they not seem to be the most problematic colleagues. Wait till you work with office bullies, you will know what is really called "problematic colleagues".

i agree with what some of them say, don't resign because of "tom" and "dick".

do what you think is right.

why would u wanna quit due to other people's laziness. that's silly.

suggest to boss to divide the responsibility equally. say the two guys in the a/m and u in the p/m.

so if those two don't do production in the a/m u heck care lah.

at least better than u resigning so soon.

I'm sure you are fully conscious of your situation now and all the advices being given by bros here. To be on a harsh side, they should be the ones leaving, not you. I do not know what's you work related to. If you are belong to service department, can just sabo them by writing an anonymous complaint letter against them. If not just leave them alone lor, unless they provoke you, it's another matter liao. :)

Funny, you have not thought of the fact that having two lazy colleagues is actually to your advantage. If I were you I would work hard on the production and the paperwork as well, given some time you would end up managing them because they will end up being tools while you would be in the driver's seat. Unless you are the type that wants to be just like everyone else and not the leader, you will always face problems like this, because you have a choice to work your way up and the other other choice is just to gripe like everyone else.

Just a suggestion, you may want to get this book titled " The Rules of Work" by Richard Templar, it's an easy read, doesn't teach you anything new but makes a lots of sense.
