Hi all, am keen to look for buddy or even buddies to travel to boracay sometime next February, before CNY.
I understand that this is a sexual forum but am actually not looking at having any kinky fun overseas. Am just trying luck to see if anyone here is keen on going Boracay together.
Am posting this way before schedule as I hope to meet up with those interested party/parties beforehand and to see if we are able to get along. (I want to avoid as much awkward situations as possible)
I'm 26, Chinese, Female.
I would prefer Chinese 25yo and above to travel w/ me. No gender restrictions. And of cos, all expenses will be self paid. :)
Interested buddies may drop me a mail at
[email protected]
Thanks all for your time!

Boracay is a beautiful island.
Have a good time!

Yeap, it seems a little ambitious but it's either that or I'll travel alone. Hence am giving it a shot and hopefully miracle happens!

Boracay's natural beauty makes up for the risk of kidnapping.

I'm not too aware of the kidnapping stuff. You mean it's happening? *gasp*

No la. If ended up I can't look for anyone to join me, I may just go kimchi or sushi land instead. Spending time alone at relaxing place with potentially large crowd or tons of couples will only make me super emo only.

I have toyed about this idea awhile ago; here are some inputs:

Not very common at our part of world, but its pretty okay in western regions.

Hi Sis,
would love to be your travelling buddy but I cannot confirm anytime soon. will pm you again soon if i am able to.
anyway regarding all the kidnapping and things, should you do a solo trip, common sense will keep you safe to some extent. it pays to be careful and to take some precaution.
other than that its fine even if you dont have a diving license the place there is beautiful enough. would be better if you have one though, otherwise you end up paying for those underwater trek things which i think are quite abit of ripoffs.

Hi bro,
Thanks for the fruitful input.
Just had a discussion with my friend and colleagues over the past few days and it seems like Boracay isn't the best place to travel given it's location. Will be deciding between going there with the potential kaki or to switch it to somewhere else.
Planning an overseas trip can be quite a pain in the arse!!!

HI Sis, am interested to be your travel buddy if you are still seeking one. For me is quite lonely to travel alone for holiday. Planning an overseas trip shouldn't tense up over it. For me is find a place i like, book air ticket and accommodation and jet off. The rest is history.

Not true wor..
It is advisable to book the air ticket now if you are planning to go by end of this month, otherwise you will be paying much more if the date gets nearer.
The last time I went Taiwan was in Feb 2014 and I paid $600 for 2-way ticket (non-budget)..

Hi,
If you are afraid of travelling alone, I would say don't be. Sole travelling is like a journey to self-discovery and learning more about yourself. Getting comfortable of being uncomfortable. Meet more people and experience difference cultures etc.
Here's a good blog on by a sole female traveler. I think you will like it.
http://grrrltraveler.com/
But if you want company and cost sharing, it may not be too bad. However, as you've mentioned yourself, travelling with a buddy with different travel style indeed will be a nightmare.
Boracay will be a nice place to go. I can say scuba diving is not too difficult to learn. If not you can always try out those helmet type of underwater walk.
Good luck in finding a travel buddy who doesn't have a secondary agenda.

was in boracay earlier this year and it's amazing.
well, if you like amazing beaches, with lots of watersports and a vibrant nightlife.. this is the place for you.
the only downside is traveling there is a hassle. might probably be heading there again with my significant other early next year around the period you're intending to, we'll be totally cool if you would like to party/watersports etc together. but of course we need out time alone so it would be good if you went with someone as well.
hit me up if you wanna know about hotels, safety etc. i'll be glad to share.
btw, i saw someone posting something about kidnapping and stuff, and seriously if you've been to boracay instead of just reading a bias newspaper article that's skewed in certain perspectives, then you'd know that safety isn't really an issue there.
lastly, i might sound hyper and protective of the place, but i don't do any businesses there or live there or anything like that. i just went for a beach getaway and fell in love with the place.
cheers

JJane - would love to join you but I can't take leave then :(
Good to learn how to blow bubbles & achieve neutral buoyancy, but CNY weekend is still the monsoon season, hence Tioman will still be closed. Reopens end March or to early April. Best visibility & least choppy seas would be @May onwards till early Sept yearly.

Agreed, but for Perhemtian Islands, best time to go is between Apr to Sept, though dive season is betwee. Feb to Nov, but beginning & ending of season, water may be choppy & the vis isn't that good. Would recommemd Perhentiam Kechil in lieu of Besar as it's more laid back & less touristy. Sand wise, both are equally powdery...

Feb monsoon season not over yet
April onwards is the best to go as the water will be clearer from wat i find out
Btw April is their summer holiday so there will be lots of people there
Safety issue is the same across anywhere we go
Just be careful and haf fun if not where also no need to go already
I'm still deciding to go Cebu or Boracay in April

Feb monsoon, but hardly affecting up north like Perhentian. If you've to choose between Borocay & Cebu, I would suggest Cebu - head over & stay at Malapascua, cos it's the only place in tbe world where you can see Thresher Sharks, and it's pre dawn dive. Luck also plays an important part to see those beauties. Thereafter, you can do your surface interval at Cebu.
