Why are they only taking action now when they know that over 500 TN shops have been registered over the past year ?

It shows that cos of public reaction after the recent murder then they act ...

Before this, they "close one eye" ....

Dont forget, its the Gahmen that issue all the PRCs with visa etc to come here .... so they have known it all along...

You are somewhat rite bro ... The authority definitely know what is going on inside the rooms of the TNs. Most of the time, the AV will only take action if there is a complain from the public. The government does not wanna be too restrictive in people making a living. If their policy is too tough, people will have problem financially and will likely lead to a lot of social problems. This will in turn becomes a burden to the nation economy as a whole.

In fact TN is not at all an illegal business in the eyes of the law but just that when the massuse offers "seedy" service to the clients, it violates the company act law. I would think there will still be TNs in Singapore but business may taper off for the next few months. I really hope that those standard H/Cs will not be affected by the new ruling ...

Aiyah, the authorities have known about it a long time already lah. The cops are also men what. The thing is, nobody care about it until this uncle stab the masseuse at the HC story. Most of the pple who will complain are the wives, i suspect.

In Malaysia, the wives complained to the government about the PRC charbor coming in and "stealing" their hubbies... nobody asked them to think about why it's so easy to "steal" their hubbies anyway...

Worst thing is there are some Singaporeans who will make noise only because it is politically correct - these are the ones who really have something to hide! the ones who complain loudest are the ones with most to hide.

It will blow over, just like everything else. Don't think the service at the HCs will change much, just that the girls will be more careful who they offer them to...

THey raid in Geylang for FL. Believe me, I seen it before, the vans come and all the gals run for cover. Some, the pimp simply just take them to hide, some smarter ones take cover by sitting down with a group of man, pretending to be their GF. Hoping that they dont give her away.

I know in Balestier, some even knock on resident doors, asking them to let themselves in to escape police. End of the day, I suspect the AV has the gals in their sight, before sending in the vans. They must have " targeted" the gals already. It is difficult to run away if that is the case.

It is a not a nice experience, but there is something to learn from it.

With this, a lot of people will turn to FL. This will in turn increase the rate of STD since at least some people who visit TN only opt for Hj/Bj, but for FLs, we usually go for FJ.

Govt cannot fight against market forces. The power of supply and demand.

There are many loopholes in the policies, not just on this issue, but on many others. Just happen that in this case, we have a fucking guy from Tampines who murdered the china gal and sparked off this action.

In fact, we should all curse and swear at this murderer, and boycott his stall so that he has no income to get lawyers. His action led to the domino effect and crush the whole TN market.

One of the loophole will just contradict with what the DPM W___ said. PDMM should be here just to take care of studying children.

I wonder did the govt screen the financial capability of the Chinese students before letting them in. For someone who can study in Singapore, in my opinon, their father should be earning something like 20,000 RMB (S$4000) in order for the kid to survive in Singapore. This means that the father is able to pay S$2000 per month for mother and child. I bet this is not what our govt is ensuring. Did they follow up with checks by social workers to see how they are doing? I doubt so.

Don;t the pdmm and child have to eat? And the rising cost of living in Singapore will not help much.

For some of us, we patronise such shop as we also pity the pdmm, and help them to survive. i actually sometimes gave extra to them so that they have more allowance for the kids. THere were also times I did not ask for extra service as I just want a good massage, and gave them $50 tips and ask if they need any help. I even teach them how to ensure that their kids pass their exams with good grades. Not that I can afford or rich, but I pity them.

But to be fair to DPM, I am sure he was given a scolding from the top brass and he followed by a scolding down his ranks for action to be taken. Very swift action indeed.

Clamping down on TN is not a solution. What is the root cause? Clamp down is just a wayang, for show only, to appease some that action is taken. But the problem still persists.

Solution will be to be stringent on giving social passes (but here we are being afraid of spoiling Singapore and China relations), stringent screening of Chinese students' family income before letting them study here.

Oh yeah, ask pdmm to work in factory getting take home pay S$600 per month, less rental S$350, less transport and food expense S$230, left with S$20.To buy tampons?

Oh yeah, stringent social passes for Chinese and the Chinese reciprocate with stringent access for us when we enter? We have too much to lose in our industrial parks in China.

Now my question is will HC will affected as these may not be classified as SPA. Are they? I cannot imagine HC with open concept!
If we legalise whorehouses in Geylang, why not legalise such TN and earn the taxes?

I just hope that this is just a passing shower and wayang show, and let it be over soon, and TN will be replaced by beauty house or nail manicure, with massage as part of the service. The gals in GL will spring out again. Or we have freelance work in apartments or hotels.

Is govt going to clamp down on Hotel 81 too? And catch intimate colleagues or secret lovers in bed? Who knows, we may soon have a regulation that 2 hr transit only apply for foreigners, not locals. At most I do it at home lor, or I book a 4 star hotel and share it with my cheongster bros, I mean each of us use it for 2 hrs each for our rendevous.

LIke I mention, no one can beat market forces because Singapore can be considered as a semi regulated though supposedly free market. For those who study economics, you will understand better. Looks like we need people of higher calibre in the ministry and PF. They need solutions, not short term wayang.

Man and Women are lustful in nature.Who is not "se"?

Lastly, what I find ugly about some of my fellow Singaporeans, is they think so highly of themselves. Look at the news. Some of them openly condemn such shop, showing their despise for such masseaue and call them as chicken.

Well, there is still a very very very very very very very long way for Singapore to reach a stage of graciousness. I do not feel apologetic for the govt for its failure to make Singapore gracious since the days when the tall SM was PM. In the first place, is our govt gracious enough and lead by example? I have former classmates who are now working in the ministries earning superscale salaries, and I don;t feel like talking to them sometimes. As if I am earning less than them which is not the case and we both drive the same BMW models, somehow their eye is way on top!

Sorry for this long thread. For me, the shut down of the TN does not affect me as I travel frequently and there are always many choices but I am just worried for the future living of the pdmm.

For once, I sound so serious in the thread.

Happy bonking, and let us cheongsters contribute in driving the market forces.

Very simple. These pdmm will return to China with their kids as they cannot tolerate the cost of living here, hence creating a talent drain, and give the govt another set of problem. The pdmm have often given the hint that they will do so if need be.

If they work in factory or restaurant, they can never survive here. Don;t forget, as the kids grow to JC, the cost will just spiral up,especially if they want to go to University.

In the long term, we will have a mass outflow of pdmm and young future talents (aka leaders) going back to China, and hate Singapore, and before you know it, our next generation of leaders will have a hard time getting things done in China.

You see, it is a domino effect. I have yet to analyse how other sectors will be affected. But trust me, how the agencies do things is they implement action to cover their backside, repercussion on other agencies or ministries not their business.

Good luck to them. Not coordinated enough.

apache
24-06-2006, 11:28 PM

SINGAPORE: Massage parlours will now face more stringent regulations before they can operate.

Private rooms with curtains are a common sight in massage parlours, and many of unlicensed massage parlours have sprouted out in HDB heartlands, causing many residents to feel uncomfortable with the secrecy of their services behind closed doors .........

I really hope that the authority will apply the open concept to standard massage parlours like Leisure, Dragon, BHC, Casanova, etc. man! If they do, all bros here might have to switch to GL, FL or JB H/Cs for a bonk  ... Yeah, having 500 shops empty suddenly is a big problem for the property market. They will result in a net loss of nearly S$1million of rental income per month.

But anyway, govt will not care much as this is the tenants' problem and not theirs. The drain will not affect the Tem__ Holdings property arm, which target at bigger fishes and property.

In the end, we people suffer, that's all lor.

But somehow, sillypore will not dare to offend China, as Sillypore is just too small. It has to sway with the winds of the US and China. Having future leaders (from this batch of kids who return to China with their mum) in a future China will not be helpful to Singapore.

Anyway, if words like our gossiping aunties calling these Chinese ladies as "chicken" go to the forum in China, I believe it will have a detrimental impact on Sillypore. Maybe lead to a boycott of Singapore!

What happen to our Mediacorp censor? They should have censored such comments.

well, the excuse is by having a very high pay, it will match to them to outside corporate pay as a CEO. something like making up to their opportunity cost. Also, another excuse is that this will minimise corruption.

You know, being a MP or Minister today is no longer all about serving the nation, but it is like employing the "better" candidate to fill the top post. This is Singapore Inc. If we pay the salary scale like the American, I can bet half the cabinet will go back to the corporate world, and we will see who truly wants to serve the nation.

Somehow, by having such high pay, the long term problem is eliticism.

It is actually like a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. And what our MM has taken years to build will somehow one day go down the drain.

Anyway, this debate has been defused long ago.

Now is how to help and support these pdmm in their livelihood in an unforgiving sillypore.

Apache, well done and well argued. What the gahment did, in one fell swoop, as usual, is to LUMP all PDMMs as sex workers. Considering that there's a good population of PDMMs who work legitimately in massage joints, without offering special services, this new regulation has pushed them out of a job, or have made it very hard for them to earn an honest living. They talk about multi-ethnic society and all that, but this regulation is as anti-ethnic/anti-racist since it targets, very specifically, Chinese mothers. Oh, but I'm sorry, the 30000 odd PDMMs who are here in Singapore are not citizens and therefore can be excluded because of their race, language and religion.

Consider these facts then:-

1. Most neighbourhood schools have had to accept more kids from China to bulk up their classrooms, given the decreasing population growth. The gahment is targetting specifically China for recruitment of primary-secondary students into Singapore. Some will go into JCs, most into polys, and most will leave for western countries (inc Australia, USA etc) to get a degree. They WILL remember how Sillypore treated them and their mothers and when they become important players in China...
2. There IS no financial checks on their ability to sustain themselves, unlike USA or UK which requires incoming students to sign a financial guarantee form. On the other hand, there are agencies in China that promises PDMMs and families that they can easily find lucrative jobs in Singapore to help sustain them.
3. These new regulations are not the only ones recently targetting PDMMs. In 2003, regulations prevent them from working in the first year they are in Singapore, the gahment will be stringent in giving them permits for jobs in 'shady' industries like massage, reflexology, hostessing. It means, increasingly, some of the PDMMs who were successful people in China (managers, executives etc) end up in jobs that locals won't want - coffee shops, cleaning places etc low end jobs.
4. The clean joints are now going to have to be certified by people who know the least about massage therapies - Health ministry and Singapore Physiotherapy Association. Most PDMM therapists are on-the-job trained, but will probably require some crazy certification. I smell a new industry booming in Singapore which will 'train' these PDMMs and then 'certify' them to work in massage places. Like some diploma in massage therapy like they have in the USA/UK.
5. Even if they are certified, how many clients will want to go to joints which are open-concept?? And viewable by the public outside? Even proper reflexology places like Kohong have massage beds sequestered for privacy. I can imagine tons of samsters now waiting outside the Thomson area where Diana Ser goes for massage :) In my years of experience having proper massage in the West, I have never been inside an open concept one because it's against the idea that massage is supposed to be calming, relaxing and private.

But you're right that the gahment never thinks ahead and just reacts to public opinion, which is typical of them. They just need to be seen doing something. And you're right that people are creative enough that they will figure out loopholes or alternative means to provide special services - supply and demand will always be there. Not HCs but physical and counselling therapy centres? How about HDB flats being used privately for massages? Or more using Hotel 81 as base of operations? Or they'll all move to Potong Pasir or Hougang :P

Some smart guy will figure out the way and everyone else will follow. PDMMs here are not financially stable and they will always need the income, whether from proper or special services. You chase them out, you're moving a hot industry (foreign students) out to other countries, and leaving schools half empty.

ok lah let's not get too personal abt d political part. i dun thk those kids will hate us so much n take revenge la. too much hk serials bro. :D

well, there will always be some form of negative impact. I don't know the exact figure of the Chinese students here, but if it is really at a strength of 30,000 or more and all pull out to go back to China, (all parts of China, I would say), then word of mouth will spread and there will be no doubt a negative impact. When these students go back, they are ahead of their peers and likely to excel in their studies and might become future leader. This will hurt Singapore-China relations in both short term and long term.

Don;t forget, China is big enough to be an economy on its own. Only some gahment will say they need to open up and cooperate with other nations etc, just because we need them more. Go to China a few times and you will know what I meant. They got oil, they got plentiful of food supply, they have booming industries, they have raw materials, they have human talents, they have a relatively stable govt..... give them another 10 years and you will see China being a world power. hmmmm, this means we sillyporeans still have 10 years to fletch our tiny muscles a bit in front of the Chinese, before we get "hum thum" by their big muscles.

Let me say this, the pdmm has no financial resource to continue their children education here. They also do not want to live like beggars here.

OK, let's say gahment want to provide subsidy of $500 per student, then that will be S$180million per year! Is $500 enough? Probably just to cover room rental and the child's food.

We are in a way depriving them of an education here, due mainly to lack of support and also due to their financial status.

I have met pdmm who used to be accountants and managers in China, but their qualification will not get them the same jobs here. They also cannot get the same pay which they can get when they were in China.

The same theory will also apply for us. We may not get a job if let's say, our sillypore women become pdmm and go to China. The Chinese will unlikely employ us sillypore graduates at Singapore price!

What the government should do instead is to clamp down on these so called agencies which brought the pdmm and students into Singapore. These agencies earn the most.

On a deeper thought, having a certifying body will also mean that gahment suddenly have a huge flow of income. It is impossible to have NTUC massage parlour. And right, the certifying body may not have the expertise to certify too. They may just call a meeting, ask for tender or "expert" opinion, and come up with some criteria or check list. everybody also want a share of the profits.

Though a small amount, it is substantial:

500TN x 365days per year x $90 (per job of massage and special) x 8 average customers per shop per day (very low estimate) = S$131.4million

This is my minimum estimate. It can be as high as S$300million per year.

One can imagine how much tax is not received.

OK lah, let us help the gahment and also help ourselves.

Get the WDA to put all pdmm into their training scheme, get them certified and get back to business (though it is true that all masseaue have their own techniques as they come from different school). Waive the 40yr old age limit for subsidy for these pdmm. Nevermind if gahment earn the certifying money, just get the pdmm back to business.

In fact, the WDA training scheme, I was skeptical. It is like forcing everyone to learn one style of Qi Gong, when there are so many types. Hey, we are not doing O' or A' level here with model answers leh.

I also wonder whose brilliant idea it was in the gahment to have open concept TN. What the shit lah. Why not we shit with the door open, a la China style?

I am not used to having people walk past and see me naked with pants.

How about the ladies? Wow, good idea somehow. Got free show liao when we go to unisex TN and see naked ladies covered by small towers on the bed being massaged. I think I will do foot reflex, and enjoy the show from the chair.

GAhment, AV, and other agencies, POlice may score points with their recent press statements. But I think they should not make such hasty decisions (decision made within a few days without proper research and studies, probably based on findings by someone who has to submit his report). It has a serious domino effect. Don't set solutions for one problem and create problems in other areas that affect other agencies and ministries.

Better discuss with the Manpower Ministry, Foreign Ministry and Education Ministry first. Or did they?

Anyway, just what our gossipping aunties will say, "Not my business lor". They are the gahment and they should solve their problems themselves.

One also will not know what the pdmm will do when desperate. when dogs are desperate, they jump the wall. If in financial distress, will the pdmm stage demonstration in front of home affairs, a show of disapproval? Geez, having a 20,000 people (both chinese pdmm and chinese workers in support) demonstration. Half of our police force? Not as if the dragon workers have not done such things in smaller scale before in front of MOM.

The media should be careful what they report from now. Any words that hurt the pride of the Dragons should be censored, which I all the while tot they are good in censorship. having statements hinting on "chicken" etc should not even be shown in the media at all.

Silllypore gahment should be thankful that they are not running HK.

Why dun you see often sillypore bookies being caught? And there are plenty out there, especially this season. These people racking in millions.Aren't they afraid being caught, worry that they legs run off, worry that their business suffer heavy loss.OF COS THEY DO.But they practise discreet.

These TN openly jio people during their wives with them,w/o assessing the current situations.OMG.

One day after passing by 1 TN, my wife openly asked me did i ever go patronised b4. Silly question.how to answer!!!!!!No wonder police have to act accordingly.Sillypore can be a exciting place if everyone practise more discreet.

Bro Apache, your points and arguments are spot on ! I agree entirely. I feel your anger and frustration and the way gahmen do things ...

Consider the following :-

1. Person in charge of this sudden TN clamp down is same person who was in charge of james gomez saga.... Will MR BROWN soon come up with another "ter kua" podcast ? (I am eagerly awaiting it)

2. PDMMs were allowed in cos we wanted the "smart" PRC children to come and "replace" our population ... so how can u cut their income off jus like that ? Many of brudders here who know PDMMs will know the majority earn a living here by wat they do ... and they work hard for it ! Some of them even have better "after-sales" service than our locals .. Maybe gahmen can use the PDMMs at the upcoming IMF/World Bank conference and see how good they can be .... ;)

3. Finally, its jus sway the murder happen in AMK .... cos it is the capital of Singapore. (Our "capital" used to be in Marine Parade and was moved in Aug 2004) Something has to be done so this is the wayang .... joo chiat is happening everyday and everynite .. no such wayang still ..

So .. Wats going to happen next ? This stuff will continue but in a new form ... someplace ... somewhere ... at a place near you ! Akan Datang !

Most of us would not be surprise of this outcome as more of such joints starts to appear in HDB estate. This murder case is just a catalyst for its' early demise. As a TN regular, I am also sad especially when I was just thinking of visiting a new one that opens just a week ago near my place. However do not fret, as I am sure that those in this business should be abe to come up with creative ideas to satisfy our cravings. well, the excuse is by having a very high pay, it will match to them to outside corporate pay as a CEO. something like making up to their opportunity cost.

Just a matter of discussion, you think someone like the short DPM can earn as much as he is drawing now as a DPM if lets say he is not a DPM now? When he was first invited to join politics by the then 1.9m tall PM, he was only a HR Manager of HP. How much further can he go if he stays on in HP or join another company as a HR professional? Therefore , it may not be correct and/or accurate to peg the ministers pay to the top 5% of the nation income as they may not possibly earn so much in the private sector, so to speak ...

The loss of 500 over HC will affect Singapore economic a lot.
Let us look at how the girls contribute to oue economic.
The rents they paid, the food they eat, the handphone they keep on change,
The clothes they buy, the $$$ they spend on their off day, the $$$ for their children etc...
This is going to be quite a impact to our economic.
How does economic work? We each earn each other money, the cycle go on and on, many ppl spend, many ppl earn, many ppl eanr, more ppl spend, govt earn many though tax, govt spend on wages and projects and the money keep rolling.
Now suddenly there is a 500 HC tat close down, thousands of girl stop earning and by the way they are very generous with their $$$, i watch them spend before. This will somehow affect the whole economic chain.
The govt should not have react in such a way, it is too much.
In term of sympathize, govt will kill off many child education and there will be some brain drain, china child normally work ve hard and study ve hard.
In term of economic, govt kill off many merchant business, the chain of economic is break in somewhere, it will affect the whole economic.

Don compare ktv girls with massage girl, ktv girls will not contribute tat much.
All along it is massage girls tat is willing to spend much.
If u are on ve good terms with them, they may even treat u when u go out with them, it happen to me before, haha. Ktv girl is more careful with their $$$.
Well, we will wait and see wat the govt will do and how the massage girl counter attack. Human alway like to beat system.

Think of what will happened when the PDMM cannot pay rent and kena thrown out to the streets by the landlords... they might end up have to sleep in the void deck with their kids.... imagine that... :(

I think before the gahmen decided to take action like this.. they should have a plan to find some kind of livelihood for these girls... if not, the problems will still be there... just turn into another form...

There are 2 types of TN:
A Those manned by PDMM and everyone is talking about them.
B Those manned by SYT. Less talk about them becos they are more discrete and not that many around. It is the same thing except that sex is the main course and not a dessert. And loopholes there are many, many la. They are registered as health and beauty and supposed to offer facials, foot massage and so forth. But the biggest loopholes are their excuse to stay here. Some got student pass - that is a big joke where they enrole in some wayang schools offering English class or even pastry making class, and everyone in the class is a SYT whose main purpose is here to make a fast buck. I heard there are other passed like commercial passes and some other kinds of social visit pass that enable them to stay more than 2 weeks.

I think the fine of $1000 is a big joke. If the shop can make 5k or more a month, and get fined 1k once in say 6 months or so, what's the problem? Or get caught another time, just "close shop", change name and get a proxy to register the business and just continue to operate again, just as per normal. Another hole in the net, not quite like a loophole.

Well, there are plenty of alternative jobs around. Like dishwashing in food courts, chambermaid in hotels, part-time domestic maids, hawker's assistant and so forth.... But then, most of these jobs require long hours, shift work and continuous hard work and with some OT pay, they could get like $1200 or so.

But these pdmm prefer to work in TN - just say 3 jobs of 3 hours a day, with the rest of the day chit-chat with each other, the camaradery among them and the potential of earning fast buck and some tips. A HJ is a Ferrari speed fast buck earner - just shaking for like 10 minutes to get 30 bucks, it is $180 per hr or 35k a month!

the govt or police would have long know about the loopholes and growing number of TNs in singapore.....just that this murder case...and recent others plus maybe countless of complaints from public, force them into action

i bet u the chinese ambassador to singapore would have been instructed to pass some strong words from the china govt about this case.
i mean, to charge the guy while he's still in hospital.....plus have they even interview him yet to establish anything....was there a motive?

i hope HCs wont be affected, just the TNs only.

Govt cannot fight against market forces. The power of supply and demand.
The govt CAN indirectly influence demand but they CAN simply alter supply as and when they want. Remember the banning of chewing gum?

Rich PRC kids do not need to come to Singapore to study... their top choice is U.S. and Australia. Why bother to come to Singapore? What is there to attract them? NUS? U must be joking...

For some of us, we patronise such shop as we also pity the pdmm, and help them to survive.
There are hundred of thousands of disable, handicapped, poor and unfortunate Singaporeans suffering in low income families or abandoned orphans that need your PITY AND HELP TO SURVIVE TOO...

Solution will be to be stringent on giving social passes (but here we are being afraid of spoiling Singapore and China relations), stringent screening of Chinese students' family income before letting them study here.
If we really wan to attract talent to migrate to Singapore, they should be accepted based on their academic merits, regardless of their income level. Btw, if u have a chance to get to know some China’s student/scholars, u will know that 9 out of 10 does not want to become citizen here, even if govt INVITE THEM PERSONALLY…their ideal is to MAKE USE OF SINGAPORE TO EARN $$$ and build up their CV/experience so that they stand a chance to work and migrate to US …

Oh yeah, ask pdmm to work in factory getting take home pay S$600 per month, less rental S$350, less transport and food expense S$230, left with S$20.To buy tampons?
About 15% of Singaporean are low income families and that means surviving of less than $1000 income per month (some are jobless) for a household of 3 – 5…

Oh yeah, stringent social passes for Chinese and the Chinese reciprocate with stringent access for us when we enter? We have too much to lose in our industrial parks in China. Singapore are being fucked up down left right by them in setting up our INDUSTRIAL PARKS there, dun u know? That also marked the end of the political career of the MP that help setup Suzhou park...

Now my question is will HC will affected as these may not be classified as SPA. Are they? I cannot imagine HC with open concept!
If we legalise whorehouses in Geylang, why not legalise such TN and earn the taxes?Tuina is a traditional Chinese method of massaging to help the blood flow and muscle relief in the body and it is perfectly legal to practice Tuina in Singapore. There is no need for partition rooms with locks for traditional Tuinas…

bluff bluff ask them what they will do with all these new regulations, she just say die die must stay here cos go back china worse, their husband will fuck them everyday literally and physically and their only child will not have any more "future".

So now instead of TNs we have more FLs liow!!!!!

From what I understand, most of these pdmm are divorcees and got nothing much to loose. And their kid is their only hope. So, they must survive no matter what. If they got rich hubby, they do not need to work that hard, hubby send them 2k a month for maintenance liao.

Some of them tries hard to get hooked on to an old man to get PR so that they have less restriction. Others try to look for a BF to provide some emotional/financial support.

Just wonder how many TN are decent joints and what proportion are sleazy?

Wat to do? Ah Boy's GRC suddenly got murder case so now very hot lor. Plus must show people he doing work otherwise next elections he get less than 60% damn loss of face :p

Haha thats is a good one.

i think the govt must be sick of those china pple using Singapore as a stepping board to the world, yet are not contributing to the Singapore economy.

I wonder if fellow samsters here when on board the place to China ever read an article saying a lady in a beauty contest once state that she will not regard China as a home though she is born in China. This lady received her secondary education in Singapore (think got her “A” level here as well) and then move on to further her education in Canada and settle there. And although this article did mention its not totally Singapore’s fault but it dose somehow already Singapore into bad light.

But I guess the police will only target those "Hotspots" i.e where there are a huge flow of crowds or location where its too open to be ignore. Killing everything off in one swoop will only cause the govt to encounter new types of problems faster and I like to think they would avoid that. Closing the TNs one by one will give the public an impression that they are working and at the same time softening the impacts on the pdmms.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Yup, I feel that the government shouldn't implement the regulation so quickly. Should probably give the PDMM 2 to 3 months grace to fold up their business and find new employment and livelihood.

As for sleeping in void deck, I certainly hope they need not resort to that. The mother and child will suffer tremendously. I hope that they will be able to find some other employment such as domestic help or work as waitress, hairdressers, etc.

I think even before all the economic problems, brain drain and future political problems arises... social problems will happened first..

Bros,

Please take heart that we should understand these pdmm. For their sake of their childrens' future, these pdmm left their country to be here to earn more money and to give their child a better living. Their only satisfaction gained is when their child perform well in schools. Don't forget pdmm neeed to contribute $1K to MOE every two years. Then there is their monthly expenses, school fees etc. These pdmm MUST be allowed to work in TN centers.

Most of these pdmm have many man friends and unless we men can control our jealousy and does not expect much from a relationship with them, nothing will happen.

But I do not have pity on those PRC on social pass to be allowed to work in these TN centers. This group are the most cunning, flirt and greedy.

I think pdmm should be the one allowed to work in massage joints instead of the local gals. Most of these local singaporean gals are cheating on their bf or hubby to work in this line. Some are even richer but for whatever reasons they are lazy to slot hard in other jobs available.

I Support PDMM.:)

The series of measures were not a knee-jerk reaction..

One could see it coming the recent murder of the china woman at AMK TN was a catalyst which the Police could no longer just gloss over... the mushrooming of TNs in the heartlands have also caused concern and disquiet amongst the residents-esp. the women.

A couple of years ago HC bosses already warned me that sooner or later they would have to convert to "open-concept" and it remains to be seen if the latest rulings would extend to HCs..I keep my fingers crossed the will not!!

That is not true. You just know only the surface.
If the shop got raided. The police will fine the shop $1000 for operating without a massage license and $1000 each if the girls are caught are not with a massage permit. This is not the end yet. Next the MOM will come after you and per illegal workers is 24 to 48 months of levy fine ($240 per month) you do the math. The newspaper just reported a little only.

No one wants to do any business that is risky and loose money or even risk going to jail. The fact that there is such a proliferation of these TN, both in private shophouses and in HDB estates is ample proof that this is a damn good business.

If the law is much stricter, like mandatary jail term, and a hefty fine like 10k, coupled with intensive raids, I doubt anyone in their right mind would open such TN business.

Just like HC, TN are more or less tolerated by the garmen. But now, the potato is a wee bit too hot liao. Once this AMK case has cooled down, I guess things would resume, albeit a bit different. Just like changing the soup, but the herbs remains the same la.

The new regulation will mean KO for most for of the TN. What will happen is that all this suddenly out of job PBMM or PRC on social visit pass will end up in GL. Some will go underground and we will know, I am sure, how to contact them again. They will not be so open anymore.

The Police only mention those TN in HDB estate but those in GL and non HDB estate, they omitted to mention.

Abt Singaporan, PR and Malaysian only allow to work in TN, this will restrcit the PRC more. Guess some will end up in KTV also. Maybe thats what the Police really wants. Drive them out of HDB estate. They know they can't eradicate the business totally but at least they can influence where the business should be clustered.

The govt CAN indirectly influence demand but they CAN simply alter supply as and when they want. Remember the banning of chewing gum?

Hmm yes, the gum banning simply drove people to drive across the causeway to get them or bring them back when overseas. They can stop the supply but they can't stop the demand. Sure it reduced the supply, but chewing gum is what I'd call a minor (non-addictive) habit. Sex on the other hand, is an addiction for quite a lot of brothers here. So the demand will *always* be there and be there in quantities. Consider what the sex industry was like pre-sammyboy and pre-TN - Singaporeans going overseas or GL. It didn't suddenly appear because of massage parlours. It's always been there but just that now, it's more visible. That is probably a flaw in the supply/demand argument.

The grass is always greener on the Western side, both for Chinese and for Singaporeans. Many Singaporeans who can afford to migrate over to the West, would do so. And a reality check here - immigration policies for US and UK requires that any student entering the country must guarantee their financial status especially for university studies. In other words they must be able to provide evidence of financial support for the period of time they're there. This means getting a bank, or guarantors, to certify that you have $50,000 x no of years that's needed to keep you as a non-working student. So income level determines a large no of overseas students going to US/UK, not academic level. For the Chinese students, no such guarantee is required, because the gahment knows... if we don't provide the education service for these students, they'll just go somewhere else! And the gahment knows very well that the majority will not stay in Singapore (can't bond them). Instead, they ask the same question - if we don't provide the education space for these Chinese students, will they go to (say) Malaysia to get an English education? At a conservative figure of 30,000 mothers with their single kids here, that's a lot of income for cash-strapped schools.

Tuina is a traditional Chinese method of massaging to help the blood flow and muscle relief in the body and it is perfectly legal to practice Tuina in Singapore. There is no need for partition rooms with locks for traditional Tuinas…

Wait. How can the gahment distinguish between tuina and massage? Is there a body of professionals (eg Chinese Association of Tuina Practitioners) somewhere in China that can certify the therapists as Tuina trained? It was only the last 10 years when acupuncture became a certified practice in China alone. Remember that a lot of these kinds of therapies are not 'taught' in schools where you get a diploma at the end, but passed down by training. I don't know if Tuina is certifiable now but I don't think it'll happen that quickly. Who knows, maybe the gahment is creating a demand for such certification and someone will do that soon.

About 15% of Singaporean are low income families and that means surviving of less than $1000 income per month (some are jobless) for a household of 3 – 5…

In the factory I am working in, there are quite a few china staff (Not just operators, also engineers and techs) Most of the operators I work with are fine. The problem are with the techs and engineers that have studied here to get their diploma and degree.

These people are Damn Arrogant and have no respect for Singaporeans and Chinese operators alike. In Fact their favorite phase is "Singapore is so stupid, Let us study and work here so we can enjoy life that when bond is over, we will go to a western country and say bye bye to stupid Singapore" (along this line)

In a nutshell, majority of the economists believe in the power of supply and demand.

The power of supply and demand only help in determining the market price and the corresponding quantity i.e. market equilibrium of the commodity in question. They believe in the power of supply and demand in its own ability to determine the market equilibrium and hence the price both party are willing to buy and sell. Nothing more than that. Got supply sure got demand? Got demand sure got supply? Only if the price is right...

I am not in favour of the govt actions, as a matter of fact, it is precisely due to the govt actions that PDMM problem arises. The industrial parks are the best examples of the old day practice that secret expertise/skills cannot be shared with non-relatives, as they will surely setup their own shops to snatch your customers away. Do you know that the Chinese started building another industrial park exactly modeling suzhou-sing JV industrial park and it is located JUST BESIDE the JV one? The Chinese said that there is nothing in the JV agreement to prevent them from IMMEDIATELY COPYING THE JV industrial park and nothing to stop them from running another industrial park alongside the JV one to prevent Singapore to profit all the money?

Btw, you forget what is the major criticism of the Porter 5 force analysis. There should be a 6th force - relative power of stakeholders like the govt and in subsequent years, development of the all important extension to the porter 5 force to include the complementor - the govt.

The supply and demand curve will tell one many thing, and it wil also be influenced by many external forces which can be partially defined by PESTEL and Porter 5 forces and other models. THere can be an equilibirum price at the intersection of the supply and demand curve, but in reality, there are some people who are willing to pay for "luxurious" item, which are priced above the equilibrium. This is why we have bros here who do not mind paying $150 for a bonk at DHC, which some really pretty gals are located.

As you go deeper, you will realise that TN and massage is not a commodity, it is a luxurious item where it has to be analysed differently. If you talk about rice, salt etc, yes, the equilibrium price will work. For this market, no supply, higher demand, and likely lead to social problem too. The seeds have been sown. Can the bros here tahan not cheonging for a week? If you look at the page views, sammyboy cheongsters can easily hit more than 100,000 people.

Got supply, demand is still there, and demand will surprisingly increase, hence we have more TN and massage springing out like a viral effect and it can go out of proportion. This is a very unique case study, friend. I can even use it for my DBA thesis one day. In fact, i am gathering data for my SPSS analysis.

Like i said, there are hundred of thousands of disable, handicapped, poor and unfortunate Singaporeans suffering in low income families or abandoned orphans that need our pity and help to survive too. Open your eyes to the people suffering beside you first..

I am also a volunteer, and I also contribute to community welfare services. Since you are also a volunteer, you should know that there are assistance schemes to help them. The CDC have welfare and job matching schemes. But do these poor Chinese students have such schemes? Some say they have bursaries, but not for all 30,000 of them, for goodness sake. For your said poor children surviving on 1 meal per day, they have the options to go for the welfare schemes. If they choose not to, then we cannot help them. But there are also many bogus case. I have met cases where they say they are poor. But you will be shocked when they answer their phone call on the Nokia N70!

I do not blame you for not knowing the existence of the various schemes. The CDC may not be doing enought to promote the scheme. And the Ministries may not have made known its schemes too. These people may be just concerned to show some report to their head of dept, something like this year how many people benefitted from the scheme, and they are unlikely to show how many people who needs the scheme but are unaware.

errrr, your first lengthy debate on my thread seems to show you are in favour of gahment's move, and you even explain your view why they are doing it. For me, I am still strong in my stance against the move. But anyway, I am open to debate.

Btw, you forget what is the major criticism of the Porter 5 force analysis. There should be a 6th force - relative power of stakeholders like the govt and in subsequent years, development of the all important extension to the porter 5 force to include the complementor - the govt.

There is always a time factor in PESTEL and 5 forces analysis. The govt will mainly contribute under the Political, Legal and Economic aspects of the PESTEL.

For the benefit for the cheongsters, 5 forces include:
Bargaining power of customer
Bargaining power of supplier
Threat of new entrant
Threat of competitive rivalry
Threat of substitutes

PESTEL:
Political
Economic
Socio Cultural
Technological
Environmental
Legal

BY analysing these 5 forces and PESTEL will shed enough light. Every model has its criticism. The said criticism can be solved by another model by doing an interdependency studies on the 5 forces and PESTEL, without the need of a 6th Force, in my opinion. There is always a limit to what the gahment can do, because, at the end of the day, they are at the mercy of the voters, especially in years to come. It is a very vicious cycle. Gahment may score points among some with their recent actions, but the repercussion which resulted in other issues will give them more problems.

Hey friend, you sure know something, and we may come from different school. There is always a difference between a UK and USA MBA. But I am trained to look at macro and micro analysis. I have to read more, you too. No hard feelings.

Gahment actions may partly contribute to the pdmm, and I would say, they sow the seeds in the first place, with a good intention of needing more "foreign talent" (chinese students) to come to Singapore to study. There is also a reason why Chinese students. But their policy makers made some blunders such as not screening their financial background well before approving their entry. They also did not take into consideration what their pdmm can do or will do in Sillypore to sustain the living. But the main driving force will come from us customers! Seeds can be sown, but if there are no customers, the seeds will die.

I drove past Geylang a few days back. Despite all the "sweep" by AV, the streets may look a bit quieter, but somewhere in the corner, there is a big party of mei mei. This is the power of customers and suppliers.

Men are bornt lustful. Who is not lustful? i am sure all "100% clean" officials also need to release. Can they not do it for a month? But of course, I have friends who did not do it for 2 years with their wives. But a very very very rare breed.

For me, at this point in time, I cannot achieve that stage.

If singapore government has allowed chinese FL to work in Cat 40 like the thais, perhaps a lot of such problems could have been averted.

Anyway the more the government want to curb down, the more it will florish underground. Give it few weeks, i expect to see them back in full force in GL or even back in some other forms very soon. When one is desperate, especially in terms of earning more money, all things are possible :D

Hi Bro,
Just to share ..

you are right if our govt can allow the prc gal (including pdmm) to work in the fish tank like thai then a lot of problems will be solved and we just go direct to the fish tanks and look see look see.

However it will not work, I did told one prc gal before how nice if they are allowed to work in fish tank ... 1st, they need not to play hide and seek with AV and 2nd we as a customer also have one more choice to choose ... but she told me it will never never be possible because of the china govt don't allow this to happened to their women not like thailand and malaysia.

She told me it will be very the lost face for such a big and powerful country where their female citizen need to work in fish tank here, a small red drop.

in fact i think our govt are more than happy to allow them to work in fish tank so that there will be more income like the clinic check up fee and the mata also need not to play cat and mouse games with them.

I did mentioned on yesterday these prc gal (including PDMM) are very smart and business oriented now i heard they post as kara-kuri and do door to door sales in HDB to sell their services.

cheers :)

They have a minimum rate to charge lor. Or else it makes no money sense to come to Sillypore.

geez, now the pdmm go under ground and go home service to go freelance. This actually make their work more dangerous, especially if they go to unknown customer for the 1st time. They are virtually trapped in the house once the customer lock the door with the padlock.

Who knows, murder case may increase if they kena psycho customers. All the best to you, gahment, for your policy. You have to bear responsibilities for your "swift but too hasty" action, very shallow ones. We have new incidents waiting to happen...

And I wonder, how will police raid homes for pdmm doing service? Search warrant? Customer can say the pdmm is his friend. Any law to forbide pdmm to go to other home for a "visit"?

Sigh, short sightedness...

Be realistic, gahment. Either send all these pdmm back to China to solve one part of your problem and you create prob for the schools due to the huge withdrawal, or give them some leeway to survive here.

Be a bit compassionate! Pls don't do anymore silly thing to lose future votes, which you are losing gradually.

But I am sure the decision makers behind these moves try to make decisions as a team, as they do not want to be held accountable for any mishaps. That stupid arrow game again.

This is not the way to solve a problem that runs deep socially! Don't repeat the mistakes of the Vietnam war. This is like a guerrila warfare.

Or perhaps WDA can offer job training for the pdmm, and pls match them to jobs where they can have income to survive well, not jobs with take home pay of S$800 which can barely cover their costs!

Bro apache

I beg to differ, the garment decision to bring in foreign students is a short sighted one in which the side effects are not considered.. What of screening financial background, there are no way to ensure the PDMM have $$$ as they can easily get ceritified doc showing big numbers...
The problem with the garment is they tot the world is like sillypore, chinese are chinese whether they came from m'sia or prc, the truth is it's not, (1) they assume that financial screening will be clean and clear cut like here, (2) they assume that ppl will only come here cos of higher education standards (sad fact being they need English education, not that the standard is high) , (3) they assume that the PDMM are rich tai tais here to supervise their kids (while the sad fact is, a lot of them are escaping their no good husband and future-less life for their kid), (4) they assume that everyone gets 1million p.a. and more than enough to survive...

What spark off the problem are the facts that PRC are smarter, hungier and money minded than they think, it's not the real PDMM that are causing the problem, in fact, they are victims as well, its the fact that students visa are another means of digging for more gold before returning as rich successful gals....

Whenever there are rules, there will be loopholes and they managed to use PDMM as excuse to get extra $$$ and as the business is soooo good money, it eventually spreads to HDB (where the true TNs suffer along with bros here) and with the media hype, something has be done (or wayang a bit) to show that garment is doing something, what are they doing, they have no idea.... now the certification bodies (whoever they are) are laughing their way to the bank as sooner or later, $$ can be make by issuing certs... and then new rules will come out and new loopholes to fill ...and on and on ......

I have great sympathy on these PDMM and female PRC students too!
Many are from really poor families or broken marriages back in PRC.
Many are also being fooled by unscrupulous syndicates who promised them good paying jobs in this little RED DOT. Many incurred huge debt borrowing from relatives and friends to fly here. On arrival, they were assigned to swim in the open seas of GEYLANG and HDB because they are not the selected species licensed to swim in luxurious FISH TANKS.
GARMENT is too childish to comment that the PDMM are all well to do TAI TAIs so they are supposed to only look after their children when they study here and need not go out to work. GARMENT admired their reported family income and bank account balance but forgotten that the figures stated are in RMB and not US$!

GARMENT should close one eye la! Since these poor girls are already trapped here, give them some loopholes to send back bread crump to feed their poor parents, brothers and sisters la. If want to have sex with PRCs or PDMMs, just say so, don't come and say how chum they are. If your sympathies are real, you would have just given money to these China Girls and not even ask for a Handjob.

Talk about sympathies. My foot! It's only because you can get to use money to have sex with this girls thats why you come up with all these theories.

Bro, in my opinion, if all the PDMM's TN joints converges at one locality like in Geyland, one would lose the privacy aspect. If one met their cousin, relatives, GF or spouses within the premises, they would naturally become very suspicious. On the other hand, if the TN joints are spreaded across all over the island like in HDB, shopping malls, near kopi tiam, etc., your dark "objective" would not be that obvious and you can easily come up with a somewhat realistic & valid excuse for your existence in that area if you happen to encounter someone you know accidentally, agree?

Bros, there are some of us who go tui na really just for tui nas and no specials. I go to some at Bukit Ba+++, Tampines, Boat Quay and they are really just tui nas by PDMM. For those, they will normally apply oil and I will strip down to my undies. These massages really helps to relax all my tired muscles and relief a hard days' stress.

The new government ruling is also killing these legit businesses by insisting no curtains/partitions. My sympathy goes out to these businesses. It really shows that some Singapore leaders really have no brains (and prob "can't sing" too!) to come up with these policies. I guess this is another "World's First" for Singapore compared to the rest of the World (next to stuff like chewing gum ban).

I really wonder what's next... if there are more sexual harassment at office or clinics, does that mean no partition and open concept for offices and clinics too?

I guess now places like GL will be more crowded, KTVs will have more choices and we will get more "TNDelivery" services at our doorsteps/conveniences.

By stopping TN shops, the government had made a big mistake of breaking down shops into individuals (contradicts the GL concept which is easier to manage and administer). Imagine now Anti-Vice have to track down individuals who are mobile instead of shops with fixed addresses. Last time, one shop catch 6 to 10.... now have to catch one-by-one. Really shooting themselves in the foot. I bet the AV officers are now cursing and swearing at their big boss.

If the business is legitimate, by insisting on no curtains/partitions isn't a problem. Everything is done outside for everybody to see.

Its only 见不得光,所以才要躲躲藏藏。

Since you go TNs only for decent massages and no specials, the new ruling shouldn't hurt you. All the more it gives you more reasons to say you go in there for a decent massage.

hmm interesting. juz pop in to say 'hi' and to share another concept.
in manila, philippines, there is one centre where they have 'open area'
and rooms. the open area is cheaper but they dim the light so you can
hardly see the next guy beside you.
for the rooms, it is more expensive and it is upstairs. but the rooms still
have small glass partition.
I used to frequent this place because most of the ladies are quite skill and
it is quite reasonable priced. also included is you can go into the 'wet area'
where they have sauna & steam and hot-pool. after that, you may request
one of the 'bath-girls' there to wash you up. again, they have the 'open area'
and the enclosed cubicles with curtain. no difference in charges though but
these girls depends on tips. market rate P100 to P200 is fine.

Like someone said just now, I think the legit business are the ones which are going to be hit as well. Then again, if they are legit, then they probably will do the necessary paper work and get on with it.

I feel that the problem with all the TN mushrooming all over the island is that it looks like a red light district in no time. At one time, TP was caked with so much foam that one would think it is GL. If that did happen in a HDB town centre, I think more people would stop going for regular business, and these business would shut down.

I'm sure most PDMM will find something else to do. After all, it is just easier to make money offering special stuff.

Actions should instead be taken to prevent those unscrupulous syndicates from fooling more poor PRC girls ending up here.

Talk COCK!

How come I don't see anyone mentioning how poor and chum the poor children in 3rd world disease-stricken countries?

If want to have sex with PRCs or PDMMs, just say so, don't come and say how chum they are. If your sympathies are real, you would have just given money to these China Girls and not even ask for a Handjob.

Talk about sympathies. My foot! It's only because you can get to use money to have sex with this girls thats why you come up with all these theories.

If i want to fuck a prostitute, I just pay money and fuck. I will not say how chum, how sad their stories are to justify that what I am doing is right.

SC

Brother siamcutey,
I am sincere in my remarks. I have known a few PRC girls who are really from good families and in great poverty. They have no better choice as they could not find jobs in their home villages even they are willing to work hard and with low pay. Even they have some finances to set up a small business there, none of their neighbours will have money to buy their goods or services!

Though we pay to BONK them on a willing buyer/willing seller basis, we must not spite them ma. They are humans too so we must appreciate their willingness to let us BONK them la. In a similar manner, we also wish our BOSSes to appreciate our contributions to their business even though we do not do it for free, right? :)

My friend, you are totally missing the point. This is a commercial transaction. Why look at it from such an emotional point of view? Let me break it down for you...

WL needs money = her problem
You need to fuck = your problem
Her problem + your problem = mutually beneficial trade.

We don't care about why she needs money, and no one cares about why you need to fuck. It's irrelevant. Similarly, I'm sure your Boss doesn't give a shit how you use your monthly pay or why you need it. If he were to fire you next month (touch wood!) do you think he would care that you have 7 kids at home? Why should he? It is not his problem.

This is not about spiting them or looking down on them. Remember, the best way to appreciate a WL is NOT to get emotionally involved with her. If you really appreciate her service that much and think she deserve more business, then the last thing you should do is get in her way by trying to be her knight in shining armour.

We're here to seek fun and pleasure, not to be heroes to save WLs in distress. Let's get our priorities right.

I guess these affected PRC gals will move to Malaysia, Indonesia, etc. to work in the massage parlours. There are already alot of PRC WLs in these neighbouring countries ...

For your Info, there are thousands of them in Indonesia liao. They have taken over the locals as well, especially in Jakarta. There are so many of them that you will not believe. All the nite clubs and Kara Ok.

It is estimated that there are 1 million Chinese PRC in whole of Indonesia, that is conservative estimate. I am refering to man and woman PRCs....

The reporters are appealing for Horror Spa stories..

If the reporters do that , then major AV raids will be expected following the pressure from MPs and Ministers..

Hmm ... bro, you know what ... this idea may pave the way to a new concept of making $$$ for those TN trained PRCs ... I shall call this TN On-Demand ... just a phone call away only! They can be arranged to go to you place, her place or a neutral place (i.e. hotel).

In fact, massage fronted sex on-demand is very common in all over the whole. When you're travelling overseas, just flip thru' the yellow pages in the hotel room, one would find a big list of ads offering this service. But one must be careful when soliciting this kinda service as they might reap a big deal from you. In Singapore yellow pages, this kinda service is discretely advertised as Escort Service which is a legal business in the eye of Singapore judiciary system. In fact it doesn't need a rocket scientist to figure up that this so called escort service is more than the actual meaning of the word, escort ... :D

The way the police conducts themselves in this "raid" is very very very distasteful. Is this what they learn at the Police academy? They should find out the motive first before launching the raid. What are the recce team for? How on earth the police can charge in before the recce team say proceed?

In fact, the reporter should take pix of the police who stop the photographer from entering the non-existent parlour, where the police interrogate the Chinese lady who is not working there.

In fact, she can sue the police for harrassment. THere is no grounds why the police should interrogate her, despite the report saying that they are doing an interview. So what if they have warrant of arrest. Is this how they abuse their power? Why don;t they ask if the reporter is working there or is she disguising as a reporter?

These police are really doing things overboard. Sooner or later, they will get into trouble.

Is this how my tax money is being used?

Word of mouth will spread, and will tarnish the reputation. I think the officer in charge should write a report.

:D

Geez, not many people knew about this.

Looks like the P Academy need to look into how they train the recruits, and how they deviate in real world after POP. Or are they under too much stress? Wanbao should call for a press conference and ask the Police spokesmen to say a few words at the scene. That will be embarassing.

Re-enactment of the spokesmen (not real, just a proposal):
"Today at xx.xxhr, our Anti vice team raided a TN outlet in xxx too hastily before the reccee team manage to discover some hanky panky action. We found only a 50 year old man, a Chinese national and 2 reporters in the TN joint. Our men asked the reporters to move out of the TN outlet so that they can investigate the identity of the couple. They are proven innocent and that is the end of our operation. Thank you and we shall not entertain any further queries from the media."

I am still utterly disgusted by how they behave in that "raid" which is uncalled for. A real waste of manpower, or do they have too much that they need to justify their actions to meet quota? That "raid" will project them as a real laughing stock, sad to say. It is like raiding an empty shell and try to find some scapegoats. The best part is, quick as they come, quick as they leave, in empty hands and embarrassment, if any.

Can you imagine their faces are on the newspapers. People now know who they are! A bunch of clueless policemen who stormed an empty outlet!

Please make sure our tax payer money are properly used. This is not the way to hit quota. I think they are the ones who need to cool down. They must be mentally exhausted. They need a break. "They" refers to the police, not the TN pdmms.

Hmm... given how resourceful humans are, there are bound to be new incarnations of the HC/TN model.

Just noticed the other day a TN joint I hadn't noticed before. Went up to have a look but it was completely empty. Thing is, it's completely new, or at least, everything looks that way. Even the curtains looked really new. Was it a case of a TN joint that closed even before it opened? Dunno. Strange thing was, the door was open and I could walk right up.

But you are right, bro... better be careful because you never know when everyone gets caught up in the fervour and the patrons get punished too. Reminds me of the time when a couple in Yishun kept making love with windows and curtains wide open. A large group of guys would crowd the opposite blocks but when the story broke, a lot of people said they were disgusted... my response was, if you are disgusted, don't see lah!

Dunno how true this is - AV is targetting those TN in HDB shops, but less so for those in private shophouses and shopping centres.

Or they intend to wipe out those in HDB and then tackle the rest progressively. Now, island wide, there are far too many to raid, in addition to those FL in Geylang. I guess, those in AV must be damn shacked, doing continuous raids for the past 2 weeks non-stop.

owen1

I think after all the fuss and raids have died down, (the AV can't be
doing this for ever) given the ingenuity of S'poreans and PRCs
surely something else will emerge and we can once again chiong.
But meanwhile lay low and wait like crouching tiger and hidden
dragon. The question now is are the raids and new rules applied
to any joint in only HDB estates and the ones at shopping centres
and other places are left alone to continue their business.

And don't come and say toilet dun need high partitions. Toilet is Toilet. Massage is massage. If you want to say an apple is the same as an orange, then you must be stupid.
So don't come and use toilet and cross reference with massage. Because by saying this only shows that you talk without using your brains.

If u read the new rules, without partitions and curtains also means that the massage session will be in full view for the public on the streets. Guess u don't mind having a massage while visible from the streets huh? Well, I do and I am sure a lot of bros here do too.

I dun go tui nas for specials. If u do, so be it and pls don't think everyone does that. If u check my posts n recommendations on tui nas, they are all for non-special ones.

More like u r the one talking without using your brains. Don't think u know everything in the world and what u say is 100% right.... From your posts in this thread, u r the stupid one here.

The CNA reported that the police raided 129 TN joints and caught 79 illegal WLs (i.e. mixtures of Thai, PRCs & Malaysians) within the week ...

129 TN joints and only 79 illegal WLs... looks like AV's intelligence is really bad. I would have guess avergae of at least 2 to 5 WLs per joint.

At the rate of 10+ a day, looks like AV will have a tough time answering their bosses of this "poor performance"... maybe year end no bonus liao.

Agree with you, the AV is talking most of the action in HDB area, look at Geyland & shopping area not been touch, from my point of view they won"t shut down all TN shop due to the reason is the PDMM with have no choise but to pack up go back to China, lost income for this goverment.

I heard alot of PRC ex-TN gals are working as FL now. I was approached by a young 22 years old above-average looking PRC a week ago ... she told that ...

If you don't go tuinas for specials, u scared what? There are many open concept tuinas done by uncles and they are certified by the association. U rather be massaged by certified or uncertified people?

My guess is you rather be massaged by PDMMs so that your cock can stand

Anyway if you do mind having a decent massage in tuina and scared being seen by the public from the streets. THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM.

Relaz bro, Firestarter was just giving his own preferences, which is as valid. Remember TN and massage are not just black and white, sex or no sex. Thats what the government wants us to think.

If we want to have a nice soothing massage by a young woman in a private place, why not? By passing those regulations, it will only hurt those samsters who enjoy that kind of "grey area" massage.
