My definition of 'senior' is someone who has posted a substantial number of verifiable FRs, where his taste can be somewhat determined and accuracy of FR trusted. It has nothing whatsoever to do with rep points or the date that the fella joined this site. If you just joined, have 10 rep pts but have posted more than 10 FRs, I can trust you more than someone with higher points earned through posting of pics and links.

Since the objective here is to verify that the contact is genuine, the objective cannot be achieved if a newbie 'verifies' the contact - especially if it is the guy's first FR. He has not established a pattern that his taste can be determined from, nor has he gained the trust of others on the forum on the accuracy of his FRs.

And what's to stop the newbies from registering another nick just to 'verify' the contact? I'm not saying that this threadstarter has any intention of doing so, but unfortunately it has happened before, so he has his work cut out for him.

This 'senior first' practice is in no way meant to snub 'juniors' or pull rank. It's just a practice that is accepted to be safer - for both the FL and samsters.
