Hi Bros, Im sure many of us sometimes need to think twice about which hotel to go for a short time of 1 or 2 hours.
Been to a few and so far is paying $20 for 2 hrs. But so far hardly got use 2hrs loh. For benefit of everyone, maybe lets pool our information so that we can save the $10 for future bonks!

H81 Foch Road = $20 2 hrs
H81 Changi = $20 2 hrs
Ming Motel along lorong 24 = $10 1 hr

More info for the brothers here... I called up Hotel 81 Changi to book a room for a 2hr period. They say they dun allow and replied that they only allow phone bookings for overnight stays. Guess it probably applies to all Hotel 81 chains.

Been trying to find a budget hotel in the Pasir Ris area where I can bonk my girlfriend in peace. Anyone knows of any at all? If not, what's the nearest alternative?

I'm not sure about all Hotel 81s, but:

1. I believe minimum booking is 2hrs for most branches.

2. They have DISCRETE membership programme that offers discount only at Geylang branches.

3. Bookings through phone are only for overnight stay. For "hourly" stay, you'll have to book in person and there is no "advanced" booking.

4. Over-time surcharge is per 1hr block. But if you stay for under 15mins, most likely you will not get charged as most staff choose to waive it (it happened to me once when I had to go back to use the toilet in Sakura). However, it depends on the staff; if you annoy them in any way, then they'll also make it hard for you.

5. All have weekend rates (Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays) for overnight bookings. I'm not sure what they are like.

I don't know if any of these policies have been changed.

An afternote: Some hotels in Geylang area charge an hourly rate during weekdays but then offer a 2-hourly rate on weekends (meaning, no more 1-hr booking). The lady at Hotel 20 told me so when I went down some time ago.

Tried a GL FL the other day and she brought me to a cheapo $10/hr hotel since my deal included the room cost.

Don't know what's the name, but it's the first building from the frontend of Lor 14. Diagonally across the open garden area where lots of bangla hangs-out. Can't miss it if you're at the end of Lor 14.

Actually it's quite a popular hotel for lots of street-standers who hangs around that area.

Room is very average, no bath tub, no intant noodles/bottled drinks, but at least got air-con and queen size bed. $10/hr wat to expect? No deposit nothing, just have to surrender the NRIC as usual.

I've read there are $5/hr deal for some houses along Talma Road too; but those are not hotel by any standard imho.

Hotel81 seem to have a strange practice.

i personally encountered it.

for overnight stay on a saturday, some branch say can only check in at 11pm
while other branch say can check in at 1am (ie sunday morning)

thinking they are reserving those rooms for transit...

not really healthy..

am not sure if they have such practice on weekdays..

Dear bros,

Mentioning about discreet, I'm just wondering, what is required in booking a hotel for an hour? How fast is this process? Already, walking into a hotel for an FL where room is included can sometimes be embarassing when eyes of the hotel staff are on me. So, do enlighten me on this. I'm new in this aspect, thought I've done FLs several times with rooms included.

Thanks!!

Already, walking into a hotel for an FL where room is included can sometimes be embarassing when eyes of the hotel staff are on me.

You'll get used to the looks; I think the staffs really can't be bothered because it's so obvious to them wassappening - most sell CD somemore so what's there to be shy about.

I oni don't like those video cameras and holding of my NRIC.

Remembered when I was new to FL, I asked the MM to wait for my SMS for the room number before she joins me later after I get the room myself. Even CD I bought from 7/11. All so ley-chey and like I say after a while got immune to all these stares even on the street walking with the FL holding my hands to the hotel room.

BTW, can someone share more about those "membership" cards; which hotel offers them? I remember years ago I was offered this card that looks very decreet like a usual pocket calender. With it, I don't have to show my NRIC on subsequence visit and got discount somemore. Any more of these?

Nothing to get embarrased about, bro. The hotel staff are fully aware of why you are booking a room. In fact, in Geylang all those hotels exist for the sole & only purpose of providing transit accommodation for you-know-what. You ever see tourists staying there ?

Even the H81 staff are fully aware. I bet the management has briefed them when they join as counter staff. Heck, I look them straight in the eye ! Sometimes I even joke with them. For H81, you can register yourself as a member of the chain. The service is quicker, you get better rooms & no need for deposit.

Happy bonking !!!
