Someone is out to kill. I believe this was from a recent spate of events organised by a fellow samster in here. Won't name them but regulars would know. Says that it is even reported on wanbao. That's it.

The only reason for the demise is because Singaporeans are too timid and have developed cold feet just because of a bit of publicity.

If no laws are being broken I see no reason why the organised orgies cannot proceed.

If the story from that news is true, then it is illegal as the organiser did profit from such events. So I guess TS should have said "demise of paid commercial GB/orgy event"

The orgies should be restarted and the profits donated to charity. That way no crime is committed.

as long as money change hands, legally speaking, profits are earned. prostitution is legal only within stipulated guidelines like having a licence, operating within designated zones, etc.

donating to charity does not change the fact that illegal prostitution had taken place.

similar to gambling. there are legal gambling outlets as well as illegal ones.

That's rubbish. Prostitution is legal throughout the country. It's soliciting in public and pimping that is illegal.

that means an unemployed female desperate for cash can offer sex service from her home? as long as she does not use a pimp and does not solicit in public, can post online ads instead.

More than 5,000 foreign sex workers caught in S'pore

Despite its reputation as a straight-laced society, prostitution is legal in Singapore, where licensed brothels operate in designated areas such as Geylang. Pimping and public solicitation are illegal. -AFP

SINGAPORE - THE Republic arrested more than 5,000 foreign prostitutes last year but it is unrealistic to expect vice to be eliminated, the Home Affairs Minister has told parliament.

Wong Kan Seng was responding to a question from an MP about efforts to curb 'rampant gambling and prostitution' in Singapore's red-light Geylang district.

'The vice situation in Singapore is under control,' Mr Wong said in a written response released on Tuesday.

He said police across the city-state last year conducted 950 vice-related operations, up from 890 the previous year. They arrested 5,400 foreign sex workers, a 25 percent increase over 2006, he said.

Despite its reputation as a straight-laced society, prostitution is legal in Singapore, where licensed brothels operate in designated areas such as Geylang. Pimping and public solicitation are illegal.

Foreign women working voluntarily in the sex trade cannot be arrested unless they are caught offering their services out in the street or violate immigration and other laws.

Mr Wong, who is also a deputy prime minister, said installation of closed-circuit television cameras in Geylang has helped deter solicitation.

He said daily police operations to target gambling in the back alleys of Geylang led to 280 arrests last year and an improvement in the situation.

'Illegal gambling in Geylang is not rampant,' he said.

'But I should add that it is not realistic to expect vice to be totally eliminated,' he said, particularly as the city-state seeks to promote tourism.

'Among those who come, there will be a very small number who enter under the pretext of social visits but engage in vice activities. This is the reality which Singaporeans should face up to.' -- AFP

I rem reading this guy help FLs post online ads (can't rem if SBF was arrowed) but he was arrested and fined for helping and earning a good 5-figure income.

So does it mean FLs can post ads here but cannot pay $300-400/mth to have a forumn savvy bro post for them is it?

Can some news savvy bro post that news story, I'm talking about, here to clear the air?

FLs can advertise directly but once there is a middleman involved it is considered to be "living off the earnings of a prostitute" which is illegal.

It is also illegal to run a website that contains advertisements for sex services so what I am doing would be illegal in Singapore.

OIC ok they should advertise in the StraitsTimes then.

Would that finally be legal in every sense now?

If the organizers want to find out who sabo them will be real simple, just look back at the WhatsApp record of the guy that enquirer for details of the event in the picture of the article. Since only the owner of the phone will be able to take the screenshot of the conversation between him and the organizer.

Maybe if anyone want to held paid sex activities now, best is to get a Msia prepaid sim card or what. When shit happens just throw away your sim card. Take turns/always using different nick for different event each time. Never reveal your real name and phone no to participants. By using whatever kinds of chat apps.

@sabo king, you are seriously dumb for saboing the paid orgy organizers. You ruin your own fun and the others. At the end of the day, nobody will gain anything, so do you. Then don't come and complain that there is no fun in SG!

As long we do anything that the book stated cannot, big bros never get to have their shares from our earnings (taxes/licenses) or people are getting harm from our actions (underage, rape, no health checks) = illegal. As simple as these, don't need to think till brain burst.

Giving people free food is fine, as long it doesn't make people getting food poison. But selling food without a license and making profits out of them, whether your food is poison or not. You will be committing an offence.

The FL thingy, best is to have the girls advertise and post themselves. If you were to help them and getting free sex or money. This is where shit happens. We will never know when the gov will clamp down all the FL/unlicensed sex business, as we know Geylang now is getting boring compared to last time, without much streetwalkers to see any more.

i still stick to my earlier thinking that without licence it is illegal. not just pimping and soliciting in public.

only with licence then can government regulate them using regular health checks and make them pay income tax. if not, can just advertise on wechat, open the feature "people nearby", and travel around the island or station in red light district or inside hotel, waiting for business from nearby horny dicks.

if they declare income too low so that they need not pay any tax, licence not renewed.

Only licensed brothels are legal. Any brothel operating outside of the approved areas is illegal.

However it is perfectly legal for any girl to offer sexual services as long as she does not solicit in public.

Bro sammyboyfor is correct, so long He/She is a Sillypore citizen or PR. They can provide sexual service in closed door.

If He/She can self-advertise, then the middle-man is no longer require anymore.

perhaps the law may be changed so that ads = public soliciting.

perhaps the law may be changed so that ads = public soliciting.

The law has already been changed and ads are not considered to be public soliciting.

However websites that carry such ads are breaking the law.
