Been single for over 10 years. After broken up with ex tried to pursue other gals but failed in the end. Felt tired and hurt of chasing gals and decided to remain single till today.

Get involved with walking exercise regularly at local park. Been doing it full time for 5 years plus and still doing it. One good way to cope with loneliness and my single lifestyle, and found it good for my mental health too.

My other hobbies include cooking, reading and travelling in my free time. When I travel I would use this opportunity to cheong when the budget suits me.

I used to envy married couples and people with partners before. Now I just don't care and decided to stop comparing with them. I am contented with my single life and the 100% freedom and flexibility I can have with it.

And most important is take good care of my own health by regular exercise which I found to be beneficial for my long term health. To summarise I don't think being single is that bad, it all depend on how one lead their daily lives and how one manage their own private life. So far so good for me. :D:D:D

Life is a game. Its how you play it, i suppose.

I'm not sure if that's all i'm aiming for but one thing for sure is, i have the freedom I want. :D

Maybe in future, I will start giving back to society by doing voluntary activities.

Same here. I used to envy whenever I saw families with children running around at the mrt stations. But then I'm not suitable for this kind of lifestyle. I rather look at them from afar and enjoy what I want to do with my own life on my own no doubt sometimes with friends as well.

I still date every now and then. Short dates. No promises of happily ever after. Just be happy for that once or twice meetup. No hard feelings. Happy, stay together longer. Not happy, split.

The only thing I'd rather stay committed to is my work. At least I know I get paid for it. :D Work hard, play hard. Enjoy life as it is. Cheers.

Sometimes being single is still the best... at least for me... I enjoy reading and writing, traveling and relish the freedom to meet friends or anyone as and when i wishes. Most importantly, you must enjoy your own company and finds your own passion in life.

Thanks. One of my romantic interests is "single" i.e. divorcee. She used to be a masseur. Her colleague intervened and told me she already has a child in Johor Bahru, but in Singapore she is not known to be a mother yet. In a way, as her ex-husband has become a taxi driver i.e. having a proper vocation in Singapore, I granted the serendipity.

I probably before reconciling her with her ex-husband if they are meant to be, we are Asians after all. Same case in TS' tale, if you ask me, 'single' and 'divorcee' is different, if you are a 'divorcee', I usually advise reconciliation instead of seeking perfection in marriage.

no intention to marry.

heard too many, saw too many, divorce cases and sexless marriages.

many married men also buy stuff from me due to their wife refuse for sex.

while other men buy couple items such as bondage or vibrators only to play with their girlfriend or FB.

even once in blue moon, when they say buy for wife, is they hope can make their wife horny for sex again.

so nope. no intention to marry.

people may say marriage is not all about sex.

but sexless marriage, marry for what fuck?

Sexless marriage will ultimately lead to divorce in the long term. No point being together if the other half busy with their career or private lives.

There is one case of husband sexting using smartphone and the wife could not tolerate it any longer.

Single is good. Alot freedom & do not have to report to anyone where are u going.

Sometimes will feel lonely but just need to find things or hobbies that u like to do to occupy the time.

No drama or lies from your other half . No need scare of being hurt again.

Meaning of life is what?
To pro create and then abandon the sperm contributor?
To find a lifetime buoy and hold on until the buoy burst?
I'm almost losing the game of life...

I'm almost losing the game of life...

Meaning of life is to realize that the game is not worth playing.

Procreation is for the interest of the species as a whole, this creates the magic called 'love'. But the individual is forsaken by nature thereafter.

We're born self-sufficient. The world outside is merely a meagre projection or mirror of the world within us.. The mistake is seeking the buoy in external things.

No one will gain all without losing all - in the spiritual sense.

I grew up to be quite the selfish person, I used to love having people in my life but, over the years I started to only consider self interests only.

Not saying that I'm very inconsiderate towards other people, it's just that I don't usually put them first. This translates back to having a girlfriend, I don't think she'll get the right amount of attention from me. I understand not all girls need my undivided attention but, I don't feel like jumping into something so halfheartedly, it just doesn't sit right with me.

I do admire my parents marriage, they are polar opposites but, they are still able to make ends meet and accommodate each other. However, just like another brother mentioned above, I prefer to just sit and admire only and not make it a reality for myself.

As for what I'm up to currently, I'm trying to get in the best shape of my life, it has always been a small goal of mine. I plan to invest money and time into proper nutrition, focus on improving myself a little bit everyday and to start learning to enjoy whatever life throws at me.

Then, what is the meaning of life, if its not a game?

Unfortunately, the reply I made above was not derived from experience, but from occasional readings of certain philosophical works over the years. Thus an answer in the abstract I'm perhaps able to render, but not one that has its basis in experience. Yet what prompted me into reading those works was surely an disillusionment with life generally.

Religion and philosophy share the same root of metaphysics, which deal with things transcendental. Now philosophy has the advantage of presenting truths in a more stark and naked fashion, whereas the former has to clothe it behind myths and allegories. However, philosophy may only go up to a certain point as our minds has certain innate limits. What is beyond this has been given names like: Prajna-Paramita, Tao, Nirvana, Moksha, Satori, Communion with God, and so on. To get a glimpse into this, we have to consult mystical works. They are the ones who have attained the final goal of all life.

Whatever problem it is, either it is within the family or external problems, one must learn to let go. I am single and life is not without problems. I am aware married people have more responsibilities and more worries than single people. But then I really do not want to compare with them. Let me lead my own life. Whatever it is I must learn how to live independently and take care of myself. Currently I am having fever and trying hard to find a cure without seeing a doctor or taking medication as I got fed up of taking too much last time. Trying an alternative cure this time. Hope for a recovery soon.

Life of course easier and more fun for singles in SINGAPORE-no responsibility for anyone, can do anything anytime , no need to give and take/compromise ect2, UNTIL you stop working ,or fall sick then what?
Living alone and wondering what to do the next day?
You can join a cause/group, travel, ect2 but deep inside, is it fulfilling?
The ultimate beneficiaries-nieces and nephews as these will be the closest relatives to you when everybody else are gone-unless you move to places like Thailand/Laos /Cambodia Laos ect2 where younger girls are still prepared to be an Ah Pek's constant companion and live/travel with you -but its all about
money and unless you are upper middles class, you probably cannot afford this foreign option.

Agree ,its a gamble esp in Singapore with our Women's Charter .
Spouse selection is important-do not have to marry only locals who are more $/career minded and may dump you at the first sign of trouble.
Some societies the women are more traditional and less money minded eg Thailand/Laos ect2s ,(this is NOT a recommendation).
Travel widely and you may find the right choice/place to settle down.
Even if spouse do not work out children may bring happiness.

I am single and currently sick. Fever with running nose and itchy throat. I am looking after myself daily. Go out shopping and buy medicine alone. It's been a week oredi since this condition started. I could only concentrate 50% when driving, stay most of my time in bed. Yes it is tough in this condition to look after myself. Even if you have spouse there are no guarantee she will be there taking care of you. So I need to learn to take care of myself in this condition. No regrets to be single. Hoping for a full recovery soon.

I got sick because I was fully soaked by hot rain the afternoon. Simply because I forgot to bring umbrella out last week. I always remember to bring when I go out but somehow last week I forgot and as a result I got sick. In everyday life I always pray for my safety wherever I go, of course you never know what will happen tomorrow. I just take it at one day at a time. No one want to get hospitalized and broke their hand or leg. I just hope it won't happen to me someday.
