Not so easy.
Afaik once you renounce your PRC citizenship..... you are treated as a foreigner even though you used to be one of them.
So if you apply to reinstate your PRC citizenship...... you have to go through the process similar to a foreigner applying for it.
I know a PRC lady who went to Canada University for studies and met and married an Angmo and became Canadian citizen giving up her PRC citizenship. 10 yrs later her Angmo husband divorced her and she return to PRC to her family. As she is now Canadian citizen.... it was very inconvenient and troublesome for her to stay in PRC as she has to keep renew her visa and attend interviews to extend her stay.
So she decide to reapply for PRC citizenship again. It has been almost 18 yrs now and she still cannot get back her PRC citizenship. She currently has only PR status in her birth hometown.
