I know this is a topic that we have hashed out time and time again but it seems like some OKTs dont take notice.

In the last 2 days I have got more than 8 or 9 unsolicited sms from OKTs about their promos and their new arrivals etc etc. The repercussions of this is that i just dont use these OKTs anymore. I cannot speak for everyone, but i believe that the majority feel the same way i do.

ALL OKTs TAKE NOTE: I will contact you if i see/hear/read something i like. DO NOT sms me about your promos or deals. OKTs who do, will not get my business. As it is quite obvious, all my FRs recently have been for gals with discreet OKTs.

Here is a tip, "push advertising" does not work in this "industry". Discretion is the way to go.

Actually, standing on a okt point of view, he also trying his best to get more awareness, more biz for his girls. So cant really blame if OKT really doing it.

But what a consumer can do is to remind the OKT that, " pls no sms " . A steady OKT will respect this decision of your. If he cant follow this basic respect, time to you to change to other OKT. just sms him " sorry, i changing to new number, pls dun sms me this line anymore cose i giving this line to my mum. I will give u my new number once I get it "

For me, my customers know that I not only will NOT sms them any updates but I will also direct them to my yahoo group or this forum when THEY sms me for updates! Hahaha :D

For Bro's who dun want this kind of problem - get yrself another prepaid number just for these, use it only when you want to....

In general, it's not just OKT's - I find many ppl like Banks / Insurance want hp no just to call / send promotional SMS. Even there, it's bloody irritating; esp when at work, someone calls to say "I'm calling on behalf of xyz bank, we have a new promo..."

Nowadays I don't answer the phone unless I know who's calling.

OKTs will sms you initially if you join their yahoo group or leave them your contacts at PMs without telling them not to sms you on updates.

I also kenna some initially but all OKTs will stop sms when I replied them not to, sms is also not free for them so they will stop if you tell them to lah. ;)

Now that I learnt my lesson, I always leave them a note telling them not to sms me when I join any new yahoo group.

IMHO, though advertisement is crucial for OKT to have business, discretion is also required.

So far, I'm only receiving occasional updates from independent FLs rather than OKTs so I believe sometimes, the above issue should be highlighted to new FLs as well. :)

Just the other day, a OKT smsed me about receiving my intention to join his group. It happened that I was driving and the phone was at the dashboard ... my CO picked it up and read out the message to me! :eek: I nearly shit in my pants ... had to lie to her saying that it was prolly a sms from the wrong person ... lucky I haven't save the OKT number in my address book.

So bottomline is, discretion would be much appreciated. Being internet savvy and of course horny ... OKTs can count on us to login to check on the availability of gals lah.

Frankly speaking, this is a discreet service where bros in this forum enjoy telling others only in this forum coz we speak and think and bonk at almost the same frequency, they do not wan their mobile to be flooded with quotes like "NEW STOCK" , "SPECIAL DISCOUNT FOR 2 F**KS" or even "WANNA F**K". This is bring danger expecially to bros who are attached or even have a life time partner.

Of course to the OKT, this is a chicken and egg situation. OKTs can always say, you not horny or you not gian, delete lor..doesn't cost u a single cent to receive one pathetic SMS right? But this of it fellow OKT bro, one OKT = 1 SMS a day, what if 10 OKT send on the same day? You do the math, and thats one hell of a disturbing issue i would say.

Bottomline, to cut things short. We already have a wonderful portal where everyone exhibit their products or rather goods and services, this is almost like a virtual "GEYL**G" already. Dun worry, if your product is good, it will definately be blessed with fantastic FRs and dozens of SMSes will be coming your way.

Give the bro here some breathing space, when their mojo is high, their SMS will fly...:D

If you are comfortable being in whatever groups that you are in - good for you!! Be these groups be sms-ing u or not to keep you abreast of the availability of their stocks...

If you are the kind who prefers discretion... There is always the button in these groups which reads "Edit membership" and you can always hit the "Leave group" button...

That's what i do... Freedom of choice... The choice is in your hands...

Get my drift?? To sum it all up... I do not see the need nor reason to post whichever groups name that you are unhappy with... Simply because there will always be others whom are totally happy with the services that these groups deliver...

"New stocks arrived: Prada $120; Gucci $130; LV $120....' shit panic like hell, luckily OC is little blurred and commented that wow how come these branded goods so cheap, real or bluff stuff?

That's the reason now why I only go for those OKTs who are discrete in their gals and never sms you promoting their gals....

Usually, we do not know if the Group that we subscribe to alerts us via SMSes...

Upon joining... once I receive an unsolicited sms... I will immediately unsubscribe from these group... Heehee...

That, even after I msged her to tell her that I WILL contact her, no need to message me everyday.

There was one day when she sms-ed me twice in the day! Morning and afternoon. The second time (afternoon), I asked her to see my previous sms on me contacting her and she don't need to keep messaging me and she said she don't know which sms I am talking about.

DUH! Just my two cents. Can only pray that she doesn't sms me again.

Bro, i think this kind of okt must blacklist them. I can understand that okts needs to promote their product, but if one opt out from sms update than they should take note and respect our decisions.

For me i welcome updates as not all the time i am infront of computer looking at internet. even if i am, i would proberly be working in my off till i receive updates after which i will go and see the product. of course not at night as my CO will be around or too early in the morning.

I always clear all my message after reading. hahaha safety first ma.
