I'm sure alot of us are using hotels for our activities

I'm concerned about virus transmission from SHN people who r staying in same hotel.

How do I know if the hotel has any SHN? Do I ask directly to the hotel? I'm sure they won't tell because of confidentiality

I dont want to kena call up by MOH for contact tracing if one SHN person has spread virus within the hotel.

No offense sir if there is shn you will not be able to even book a room as it will be monitor by in house guards and government employed security so rest assured you are fine.

Secondly singapore owe a big thank you to the staff who worked endlessly catering to shn guest throughout. They do not get the recognition as nurses and doctors in.fact most hotel staff even suffered salary cut resorted to working shift jobs weekend shift from normal 9 to 6 monday to friday.

You can ask the hotel directly - they will not hesitate to tell you the truth. SHN guests are segregated from the rest of the community, from the point they enter the hotel till the part they enter their rooms they will not come into contact with members of the public

Take for example, the Shangri-la - the entire Tower Wing is currently booked for guests serving SHN/Quarantine Order but their other two Wings are open to the public. The SHN guests do not enter the tower through the main lobby but go through a service elevator straight up to their assigned rooms.

For hotels that do not have the luxury of having separate lobbies (which is to say, most hotels) the government will book out the entire hotel and you won't even be able to enter.

Echoing what some of the bros have said, just ask the hotels. My gut feel is that they are obliged to inform you...

Even if they are bounded by some confidentiality clauses (which I’m pretty sure is not the case), it’s still super easy to get answers simply by asking. Those hotels that are not participating in the SHN programme will be very prompt in telling you that they don’t have any quarantine guests so that you will feel safer booking a room with them. Those that give very vague and nondescript answers are providing you with a good enough clue that they probably have SHN guests.

I thought they will put up notice at entrance? Been to some and they did announce it somewhere. I remember seeing a list of hotels you can book for SHN

I think there's a list of approved hotels from STB website. But like one of the bros mentioned, beside staycay, they are also used for quarantine purpose, just that they separate the floor/block etc

yes, that is correct, you will see a notice pasted around the hotel, mostly on door, something like "this facility is an official SHN" bla bla bla

Last sun I went for a wedding lunch at one of the hotels near town.. the front entrance got a sign that says it's a SHN quarantine facility or something. So don't need worry so much.

Take lift to every floor, if u see some floors have chair or bedside table placed outside the room door, there are SHN staying in the hotel

Most hotels require a keycard to access the guest floor levels, and the better hotels will program your keycard to access only the common facilities (pool/gym/spa) and your own floor, no others.

So, how to see? Take the fire exit and walk walk - saying Hi to the security camera every time you enter a new floor?
