anyone care to share one's experience of connecting with someone who became his fb?

how was connection made? how to keep it casual while making it more than a brief affair and how did it end?

I met one of my ex-FBs at a business dinner function, we happened to sit next to each other at the dinner. We exchanged business cards, and chatted about work during the dinner.

First "date"
A couple days later, I called her office and asked her out for lunch. Lunch was the usual business chatter plus some personal stuff like "what you like to do on weekends/where did you go for holiday/any good restaurants" sort of thing. After lunch, I called her up again (got her mobile number during the lunch), and asked her out for dinner the following week (on a weekday).

Second "date"
Generally same as the first date, but talk more about personal than business.
Before the date ended, asked her out on the coming Saturday night.

Third "date"
Went out for a nice romantic-ish dinner at a nice restaurant with wine. After dinner, asked if she would like to come over to my place for a drink (I have wine at home). She said ok. She came over, we drank more wine. Ended up bonking her 3 times that night :D

After that, made it clear that not interested to have serious relationship. So we have a FB relationship for about 2 years. It more or less ended when she found a boyfriend and got engaged. Although we still had sex a few more times until she actually got married.

personally, i think it is quite difficult to keep a fb relationship. If you have sex with a girl more than a few times, things tend to get complicated. Sooner or later, you or she will have to break it up. either you find that you are beginning to like her or the other round. You know that you have to move on to keep yourself and the other person sane. And there is the risk of being found out. i think one should not have sex with the same person on more than 2 occasions. feeing attraction and keeping attraction at bay are contradictions in terms

Getting into a FB relationship means that you need to specify what boundaries the relationship covers. Somehow, it's easier with friends, and not strangers, because you are more aware of their lives and boundary presets are present. Once emotions evolve, better to let go.

Once I got to know a gal from zouk & been going out as friend for several months before we had sex

Subsequently we became FB for a year and half before she left for overseas studies

Since then, no contact.
Such a shame but I miss her
Sometimes even it's FB, we cross the boundary:(

Had a FB from same company for about 3 yrs. We had this understanding from beginning that there'll be no strings attached as both of us are married.

ya i agree its hard to have a FB.

Most of the time, emotions take over and somehow someone will try to take a step further. Usually (my case) the gal would turn out sticky, asking where you'd be, be angry when you don't have time for her etc....

It'll be great if someone can share more abt handling such instances as I had to let go of a few gals when they get stickier.

i think i understand the advice given. setting out the understanding and marking out the boundary is important so that the other party can decide whether to continue fb relationship without feeling getting in the way.

finding the right person to be fb is also important. One can only guess but cant be sure if he has found the right person to be a fb. possible to make clear before the sex itself? not really practicable right? (not more deducting reputation points please)
