Hi, would like to seek advice with regards to the online divorce portal. Anyone has diy their own divorce without using lawyers? Both parties have a mutual agreement to part amiably. Basically it’s an uncontested divorce, no children no high end properties. How long is the process before it’s official? Anyone used DivorceBureau? Many thanks

Civil or Syariah court?
What you are looking for is Divorce by Mutual means.

Amicable split here. Nobody wanted anything from anyone. No kids, no shared assets.
But even then, we still used a lawyer. Reasoning being that its better to have a professional sort it out rather than slip up on some minor details later on. Was also not in the right frame of mind to worry about the paperwork.
If nobody is disputing any terms, just one lawyer is enough to help you file for divorce. Cost around 3k. Filed in December, final judgment in April the next year. Relatively fuss-free.
If you want to use the e-portal, make sure everyone is on the same page, and everything is in order. Portal page also has a disclaimer:
"You do not need a lawyer to use this eService. However, applying for divorce is a major decision, and you should consult a qualified lawyer if you are unsure about your rights and obligations. Please note that you will need to comply with the legal, procedural and formal requirements of conducting court proceedings regardless of whether you have a lawyer or not."
Caveat emptor. What seems to be the cheapest option at this moment, may end up costing you more down the line.
Good luck. Wish you well in this difficult period of time.

A lawyer will be better just in case.
Simply because private agreements come second before law.

But if there no any demands on each other wouldn't it be cheaper to take care of it yourself? and not too complicated. there is no property or children to fight over. But indeed, if you have more money, using a lawyer no take up your time because almost everything is taken care of

Thanks to all who offered advice….
I have managed to go through the whole divorce process (with a lawyer) in less than 6 months and spending less than 1k. Please note this is for couples who have no complicated requirements and not contested. Best if no children and both parties agreed to part amicably.
Anyone interested can pm me for more details.

no children and both parties agreed to part amicably.
So means what? Will still keep in touch? Message her on her birthday/christmas/new year/ cny? Can still meet up for meals occasionally? What is the new normal?
My friend got a divorce after the wife said she no longer wants kids. After the wedding then changed her mind to be more career focused. Before the wedding say can have 2 kids. He wants kids.
Doesn't mean that she is a terrible person right? They still keep in touch as friends. His current wife knows and accepts as long as he informs her beforehand.
