Not only that, as long as anyone that have sexual contact with that person will be called up for testing and so on and so forth.
e.g, A got HIV and has sexual contact with B, B will be call up then B have sexual contact with C and C will also be call up and it continue.

This is one of the consequence of opening the door to foreign talents and other immigrants from countries that are heavily AIDS-infected.

Not totally true it is also the consequences of horny Singaporeans going to china, Indo and Thailand etc and not using a Condom when they do it. and not using a Condom when they do it here as well If people used a Condom then it would cut down the risk of AIDS and its spread.

The statistics is indeed alarming, but personally i don't think contact tracing in this case will help - just look at the number of illegal pros along Geylang n the number of patrons, especially those along Lor 24+ malay/indonesian girls n the huge number of bangladeshi customers....u think the girls knows who they had paid sex with ???

To me the only safer way to control this is for all bros to use condoms 100% all the time, but this is a very personal choice. From this forum we can tell that not all bros are into it. There's a very good saying - using condon while having sex is like taking shower with a rain coat.

The worst the authorities can do will be like the Sars period, go hses bonk have to write down name and contact number.

Trace down and quarantine? This will be very sticky indeed...imagine 1 guy kena than find the WL than WL lead to many customers than customers to many other WLs...the list can go on and on...very tedious indeed.

BTW condoms is not 100% protection. The best is abstinence.

personally, i find the report stupid.
instead of being honest abt the matter, they blame it on the gay community and guys who goes overseas to fuck around and also the inaction of Action for Aids.

dun just always blame it on the gay guys....we normal guys also play a part in this epidemic. nabei, everytime got trouble find ppl to blame. anyway, fuck local also might kena if the gal or guy have it....its not constrained by any stupid borders...and how do they intend to do border screening anyway? got so immediate Aids test meh? anyway, with the mushrooming of budget airlines, we got more ppl go around neighbouring countries to fuck anyway.

as for Action for Aids, i have worked with them during some course of my previous businesses. these are ppl who have limited funding, looknig for sponsors like my co and yet kena the sai from the bloody govt. what have the govt did up till now?

bottomline is stop the blame game and start doing some real work to control this epidemic.
as for us chiongsters, the least we could do is fuck safely lor....use cap....haha

Agreed should not play blame game. Now what we should do is to think of a solution.

sry i'm not trying to say that you are racist or something but i think according to statistics, the majority of those that are affected with HIV and AIDS in Singapore are chinese.

i think for the screening one will most probably depends on which country and the person medical record all this thing for example thailand.

the tracing is even gonna be stickier than you think it could be if you went to DSC before, you saw this poster where there's a lot of name on it which links to another name that they slept with rite than in the end, the last person got HIV.

yep i agree that AFA is an organisation with a big heart but quite limited support in terms of funding and volunteers. I have had some contact with them previously during some other charity work but i noticed that quite a large disproportionate number of the volunteers r in fact ang mohs... not chinese, malay, indians etc. guess it has something to do with the stigma associated with HIV.

Personally, i feel that volunteering for AFA really takes more courage than most forms of other voluntary work... in a way the AFA pple r constantly dealing with e very morbid issue of death thru this deadly disease... dealing with the HIV+ pple.

So i feel if possible, we shld support them in whatever way we can, I salute them.
