husband's punching bag

hello everyone,

I would like to seek advice what would you do if you are a husband's punching bag? I would like to check once after being a punching bag, should I go and report police immediately or wait till the blue-black is obvious then report.

If just making report without seeing GP, will it valid for divorce? What if I did not make any report for recent punching bag, based on the old records ( a few years back) does the court still accept it?

I need genuine advise.

Thank you

Hi TS, go straight away and don't hesitate to make the police report. Go with a relative or close friend. You don't have to wait till your bruises show. The police will direct you to a doctor. Don't be afraid to make that report. The law is on your side for whatever reason when a woman gets abused. Don't think of giving him chance because once he lays his hands on you he will not stop. If you are contemplating divorce than get a personal protection order.

For your own safety, it is best to make a police report and leave home immediately. Hopefully, your financial situation allows you to do so. Seek help if you can't -- see your MP or an appropriate govt agency.

Really, if you had been mistreated, then you should consider ending the r/s early before more nasty things happen as it could be quite dangerous for you. You got to go to hospital to get your injuries checked and verified their causes, and then make a report with it.

It is hard to live with abusive spouse as every day will be like a torture. So for the sake of your safety and happiness, better end it and move on.

Please go immediately to the police and the doctor. No man should ever lay his hands on a woman. Consider your next step after doing the above 2 first

if you are abused and bodily hurt, please report immediately to the police. They will arrange from there.

Making a police report or seeking legal advice may be detrimental towards the relationship in the long term with a difficult recourse. I suggest a more amicable solution is to seek professional marriage counselling first before embarking on litigation.

Hi there,

Go and make police report straight away. A husband who hits his wife are the lowest of its kind.

Leave home asap, don't let him hurt you again physically, and emotionally.

Ahee.

Yes, you should make a police report. But ask yourself, did you do anything to provoke him? Do you have kids?

While I do not condone punching a woman, sometimes women need to know their place. A man can really hurt a woman, do not do anything to provoke him. Better to walk away than pour oil on the fire like I know some women do.

Bottom line is keeping yourself safe should be your responsibility. Just like a man if faced with 10 guys still wants to hero, he deserves to get whacked. Is it wrong? Yes. Did he deserve it? Yes.

Keep safe.

This might be inappropriate for me to say, but i'll still say so.

Can you try finding out why he abuse you? In some cases i've read, the wife is causing stress for the husband. This causes the hb to redirect his pent up stress at the source of his woes, his wife.

By no means am I implying that you are the source of his troubles. He can be abusive for other reasons...but there is always a reason to such behaviour. It really helps if you can find out why.

violence will not be tolerated.

go and make a police report. The more you endure the more hurt you will be going to face.

I do not approve of what u said Gixer, regardless what was said or done, there's no reason to raise handsat ur spouse. Once a husband gets away with physically abusing the wife, there will always be a twice and thrice more times to come.

TS, i say end this abuse now. Regardless of whether u have kids or not, harden ur resolve and go to the authorities. What's to stop ur hubby from taking it out on the kids next time or when u're not at home? Go to the authorities and if he is willing to change, u can decide whether or not to salvage the marriage or what's left of it.

I personally have a bad temper, but i have never ever used that as an excuse to raise my hands on my other half.
