In Taiwan, they have commutation system whereby all prison sentences get reduced a certain number of months/years when they have big occasions like ex-President's birthday or big anniversary of Founding of ROC. The last five took place in 1971, 1975, 1988, 1991 and 2007.

Maximum sentence is 30 years. He got 22. It is a reduced sentence. Once the media spotlight is gone, who knows when he will be out? You never know. He might get an individual jail cell with TV, air con, cushy bed, toilet and internet.
