Question regarding pre marital sex and baby
 

Dear senior bros and experts, I am a newbie having a serious question about laws of singapore

If a female and I, both age 21 and above have sex and subsequently she gets pregnant, am I required by law to marry her?

What if I choose not to marry her and she chooses to have the baby born? Am I legally required to pay monthly installment for the cost of the child?

Hopefully bros can give me advice on this. Thank you in advanced.

Its not a requirement.

And if she wants/sues you in a sense, then will you be required to pay. If she says nothing, then you need to do nothing.

I am afraid the Answer is YES...your partner here can request you to pay child maintenance for the sake of child...even if you marry or dun marry her...the amount is determined by the Court...if both go legal...if not the both can argue til cow come home also no agreement...:)

You can request DNA test to ensure child is yours...:)

Bro, before you poke her, did you sign a contract stating that if she is pregnant with ur kid, u gotta marry her. If yes den u lan lan. If no den u think what u wan to do next.

Secondly, u tink the child is a loan ar? installment? need to pay interest somemore!!

Oh ts if not wrong this "installment" u might need to pay till whatever age the court order...... probably 21 or dod they change.

Under Singapore law, even if you are not married. If she goes to court, and prove you are the father, you will have to pay maintenance. If she decide to raise the baby alone, you still cant have a peace of mind when she will come after you for money.

Best is to becareful and not start it. If talking about shot gun marriage, it is common. But you sure you want to be with her to raise the kid for rest of your life? Think carefully.

Bro, judging by how u sound so offended with your reply and the personal insult, my guess is you are already married, probably not too happy and with a kid. Or you are on your way there. I'd like to take a step further and say that you wished you were single again?

TS, it is not personal insult. i am happily married and dun have a kid. when i have a kid next yr i will pm u and maybe invite you to ang kway neng. Anyway im not trying to start argument la. just want to point out one thing, since you heong heong shoot inside, u also need to accept the outcome.

It is either u tell her to go for abortion( touch ur heart) or u keep the baby and start a happy family. gd luck

I personally feels that if the couple is ready and committed, then of course they should proceed. If they are not ready , they should not proceed.
2 mistakes don't make 1 right. A non 100% mutual ready consensus of marriage would inevitably cause 2 adults and 1 innocent young one to suffer a
lifetime of miseries. The couple will hate each for the burden they have created for themselves. The kid.... I leave that to your imagination
how a unlove kid will grow up to be.

Its cis if this reason that y I have a few ladies (divorcess, single ladies) willing to sleep with me but I never go into them except for their mouths.

And best part is, I tell them lets not do it till we decide to get married. And they are so impressed by my disciplined principles, and all the more they want me in them..

I'm quite sure that in any developed country with an established legal system that includes family law and family court, the biological father of the child, regardless married or unmarried to, or divorced from, its mother, is always liable to pay for child support until the child becomes an adult.

By being such an irresponsible man, you don't deserve a lady loving you to begin with. You plunder her for sex & when she receives the gift of life, thanks to your sperms, you flee from responsibilities.

Your girlfriend deserves our sympathy.

And yes, I'm a father to three beautiful kids and adopted another so that makes four.

But TS, if you weren't avoiding, you wouldn't be asking such a stupid question here right? If you weren't avoiding, you would already be busy preparing yourself for fatherhood, not asking to confirm with others if there is a law stating that you need to marry a person BY LAW if you get her pregnant.

btw, the law requires you to make 2 babies and not 1. Its illegal to have only 1 offspring in Singapore. You need to get your 2nd asap. trololololololol . :D
