Place : 28 Hang Thuyen, just east of Thi Sach and Le Van Huu.

Went there with 2 bros... sing for 2.5 hours.

The best way to get money in Vietnam is by using Citibank Bank ready Credit cards, go to the citibank teller in airport or in town, and draw cash from there, you get the best exchange rates that way.

next best way is the bring large notes of US$ (50 or 100) and exchange at the airport money exchange.

next best way is to bring Sing$ and change at the airport.

next best way is to change USD$ at hotel receptions

worst way is the change for any VND in Singapore!

When u going to Hanoi for first time, do also take note about booking of hotels. If u book a USD$20~30 hotel, you are likely to have fun. If you book a USD$100~200 hotel, and when u want to have fun, u will end up booking another USD$20 hotel, and ur luggage can enjoy the facilities of the 5-star hotel but not you ;-)

Rice Cooker

You might wonder why the title of this article has the title of Rice Cooker? It's actually slang for motorbike helmut in Viet Nam. From December people all over Vietnam have to wear helmuts. It sounds weird that the government has to force people to take care of their own safety.
In Vietnam a few years ago, we had a rule for wearing helmuts but only for those driving motorbikes on the highways but still not many people followed it, including me. I don't really feel comfortable wearing a helmut but I bought one today. For western people, wearing a helmut is something that they more than happy to do to protect their lives but for Asian people, especially Vietnamese, it isn't a habit even though they know it's good for them. I felt like I had to buy one because I have seen quite a few accidents recently between my home and the old quarter. I think it's worth spending 165,000Vnd just in case I do fall off and hit my head.
Since the policy was announced, the helmut business has been doing extremely well. I went to the Honda shop and they said they sold out a few days ago, then I went to the Protec shop, which was crowded with customers selecting a helmut to suit them. Luckily I got one for myself at a good price. I also tried to buy 2 more for my friends but the staff told me that I have to go back in a few days when the next stock arrived. The most popular brand for helmuts are Amoro, Honda, Lucky Star, Protect. You can buy copies of these helmuts which are made in China cheaply from 30,000Vnd instead of buying an original from 165,000Vnd. Most stuff from China is really cheap but I'm not sure about the quality.

Went to Do Sen beach, bot another half hour away from Hai Phong.

He say its the only legalised RLD in Vietnam w/o police to kar cheow. cheap and good!

The whole str of RLD with shops facing the beach. good environment to call gals. The price is 150,000 vnd for a single bonk for 1/2 hour, or overnight of 350,000 vnd. Cheap!!! and the gals quality are quite good i would say. so of cos we took overnight la, more worth it right.

And the seafood there was good and cheap too!

Just across the road there's this small restaurant that serve very nice food.
Shop name: "Quan Chien Beo" just across the street of our hotel with 5 mins walk down south. I remembered we order some hot dogs, beef, vege, bread & pork. The hot dogs & beef were very nice. Just a stone throw to Sheraton hotel & West Lake.

Yes, I have been there, Doson. first time when I was there, it cost only VND90k for a 2 hours session. But I guess rate has changed to VND150K. However I dun think u are limited to 30 mins... this is not Geylang! And vietnamese are never in a rush to do anything.. even screwing...

And u are also right about the Quality! Damn good.

Seafood there good too.

I also had a lot of fun in some other beach resort south of Hanoi... there was this place called Quat Lam... its really fun... a long long row of little houses parading to be small restaurants.. only have about 4 tables each with seating capacity of 4 to 5 people. We noticed the waitress are all young girls.. so we went into 1 of the "restaurant".. we even went right into their living room inside the house instead of seating outside where the tables for guests are. The girls are so playful.. we took some snack from the car to share with them, watch TV, drink tea, chit chat... then we ask for the toilet.. went behind and realise 3 small rooms.. identical ;-) That is the tell tale sign already. me and my friend drag a girl each into the room, we just strip and shower.. and wallah, girls also automatically strip and shower with us... and go 1 round and somemore got massage. Now refreshed, we proceed to order dinner and eat outside... entire ordeal about 3.5 hours... total bill comes to VND250k.. inclusive of everything! They even provide rubber!

I also had a lot of fun in some other beach resort south of Hanoi... there was this place called Quat Lam... its really fun... a long long row of little houses parading to be small restaurants.. only have about 4 tables each with seating capacity of 4 to 5 people. We noticed the waitress are all young girls.. so we went into 1 of the "restaurant".. we even went right into their living room inside the house instead of seating outside where the tables for guests are. The girls are so playful.. we took some snack from the car to share with them, watch TV, drink tea, chit chat... then we ask for the toilet.. went behind and realise 3 small rooms.. identical That is the tell tale sign already. me and my friend drag a girl each into the room, we just strip and shower.. and wallah, girls also automatically strip and shower with us... and go 1 round and somemore got massage. Now refreshed, we proceed to order dinner and eat outside... entire ordeal about 3.5 hours... total bill comes to VND250k.. inclusive of everything! They even provide rubber!

My 2 cents about Hanoi

If one is coming to Hanoi, one should not have the 'Thailand' or 'Bangkok' mentality. The scene here is totally different. Most hotels are not guest friendly, especially those in the 3 to 5 star range. It seems that the ruling here is that if one wants to bring a Vietnamese girl back to the room, one has to produce a marriage certificate. Tough.

The second barrier here is the language. One can not make passionate love if one does not understand one another. And I can tell you that these girls give the best GFE.

Let's get to the juicy bits. I have done the Fortuna Hotel thingy. I went to the Boss KTV with 2 friends and one of them 'used' to be a regular here. Called for a lineup, told the Manager who to bring only the girls who can go long time and speak a bit of English. Picked one and she sat down beside me. Her hands did the autoroaming. After staying for about an hour, we left the place. Three guys and I was the only one that chose a girl. Strange huh? I get to that part later.

Hanoi has many cafes and bars to choose from. From the cheap bia hoi's to the 5 star hotels. It all depends on one's budget. Actually, as there are many places to eat and drink. Every corner of the city has a cafe.

Now after we left The Boss, we proceed to 17 saloon. There is a live band playing there and a DJ takes over between the break. The band is a decent band but the music played between the break is not that good. Now when one steps into 17 saloon, one will notice that most of the staff are girls. Yep. That is their selling point. Take out a cigarette and a girl is ready to light it up for you. Of course the girls will coax you into buying a bottle. Drinks are overpriced IMHO. I guess the music played in between the break is mind blasting to cater the patrons who missed New Century. New Century is a disco that was once popular with Hanoians. It has closed down as it was abusing it's opening hours and a drug bust was made by the Central Police that was published in the local paper.

Back to the Boss gal. As the Boss only allows the girls to leave at 12, the girl I booked called me after work to check where I stayed. As I am staying a mini hotel already, she made her way here. But before that, I asked her if any of her friends who are working at the Boss wants to come over to be with my other friends. This is the way to beat the system of paying extra to the Boss. Don't have to pay the extra USD for take away fees for the other two girls.

My rating for the gal I took is;

Height: 5' 4”
Spotlights: 33B (Damn Perky)
BBBJ: 9/10
FJ: 9/10
GFE: 10/10
Damage: 100 USD

I was flying back home the next day and she stayed until I checked out. She even helped me pack my bags. Hanoi girls are very GFE.

I guess a trip to the Boss KTV in Fortuna Hotel is ok if one is a business traveller that is coming to Hanoi for only a short trip. Discreet as the girl can go up to the guest's room if one does not want to do the walk of shame.

The health club scene here is really funny. I can only comment about 2 places that I have been. The first place was Sakura massage. We took the VIP package which costs us about 500,000 dong. It's a two hour package where the gal give you a bath, scrubbing every part of your body. After the bath, she will massage you and fondle the little fella. She is basically offering you a HJ. It is better if you decide on the price before she strokes the little fella till he vomits. She initially asked me for 500,000 dong and i laugh. I can't speak Vietnamese so we used hand language. We settled at 100,000 and she whip the little fella.

The second place we went to is the Oasis Hotel. There is a health center on the 6th floor (or maybe it was the 5th floor). This time we took the normal 1 hour package which cost us USD 4 per person. I did not want a HJ and luckily the girl did not offer. One friend went for a HJ (he paid 100,000 Dong) and another fella got a HJ with a little BJ action. He paid 200,000 Dong for it.

Now a short review on some of the places that I have been. Remember, YMMV.

Decent Band (By Hanoi's Standard)
Service staff are eye candy. They drink with you and party with you. (Of course at your expense)

I have to be a bit biased about this outlet. I like it. Not a cheongster's outlet though but it serves decent food and the price for it's drinks are reasonably priced. A large beer here is half the price of a small beer in Seventeen saloon. If one is traveling alone in Hanoi and require some information or help, the patrons here are friendly enough to share a tip or two. Lots of expat teachers come here for dinner or drinks. For me, it's a pit stop before I go somewhere else.

IMHO, to cheong in Hanoi is a totally different experience. The learning curve is not as easy as say Bangkok or Hatyai. Buy a local sim card, learn a bit of the language and smile. It can open many doors for you. I am still learning.

my first night in hanoi is as below.

Reach air port at 7pm local time. then reach hotel 8pm. check in, dinner and drink a bit.

then bro deprait4u came and join us with his most friendly friend andy.

Ok, my second day in hanoi.

First we woke up. Brekfast in Classic One hotel (Help Book By bro Deptrait4u), well, typical hotel breakfast. Then we went to sight seeing a bit. At noon, after we felt a bit heated and tired. I call up bro deptrait4u to bring us out for massage. And we meet up, and so he bring. The massage has about 10 rooms. Quite a numbers of customer, we waited 20mins to get a gal. 5 of us went in then.

Do Son Beach, near Haiphong, North Vietnam

The Beach
If I have to travel that far just to get to the beach, Do Son would be my last choice because the sand is dark & the waters murky. There was no attraction except to check out the action.

Someone posted that the seafood is good & it should be since there were many restaurants selling the stuff. For a lone traveler, it’s difficult to check this out without wasting a table full of food you can’t finish.

My attempt to order a fried fish, with a vegetable soup in local Viet style, boiled white rice ended up all wrong. I was given fried rice with pre-fried fish meat in the fried rice, a western style gluey seafood soup (tiny bowl) served before my main course western style, and a stir-fried “morning glory “served after my fried rice was finished. I would say the cooking was ordinary at the place where I ate. The entire bill including a bottle of beer was all of 81,000 dongs. Next to me, the locals were having what looked like a sumptuous meal for sure; it’s all about communicating what you want for sure!

Casino
Strangely enough, there is a Do Son Casino located at its loveliest headland on a hill overlooking the sea. My hotel man was always looking out for me as I wandered around the area and he picked me up on his motorcycle saying some words that sounded like “Casino”. Not knowing exactly what he was saying, (and thinking he was taking me to see women), I hopped on and soon was brought on a ride to the location of the Casino high up on the headland. On the way back, he took me on a road round that headland from where there were lovely views of the Ho Dau Beach Resort, a local attempt to beautify and develop a quality resort here at Do Son.

The rest of the Do Son area is littered with small hotels (pretty decent looking) and small shop house type guesthouses with an average pricing of 150,000 to 350,000 dongs at rack rates. Foreigners without prior discounted reservations would probably pay close to the listed rate. I was charged 200,000 dongs (rack rate 220,000 dongs) for my decent two-bedded room with a balcony and a moderate view of the outside although at that late Friday afternoon hour, most of the place was deserted. It was the second hotel I walked in to enquire.

The Town
Do Son town looked pretty busy as with all Vietnamese towns and MAY present mongering opportunities in terms of Karaoke & other higher end establishments if you can find them., During this short visit, I did not have the time to explore this at all & decided against spending an additional night groping around with no local knowledge since my primary objective of checking out the RLA on the beach was fulfilled.

The Red Light Area by the sea at Do Son Beach
The objective of my visit, the entire RLA is an inverted “Y” in terms of the roads. You can walk there from the main beach area in about 10 minutes. The entrance area consists of low terraced houses on both sides of the Y. The bottom of the Y is a single street with the sea on the right and the terraced shop houses on the left. At the entrance area moving to the bottom of the Y, there are some bigger hotel-like houses on the right. Further in, on the right, there are some open verandahs where you can sit in a breezy location to drink your beer and view the ladies outdoors.

When you enter the area, you will be waved to go into the house by the people outside. It’s best to take a walk in the entire area before deciding where to do your viewing and “heave-ho”.

After taking a slow deliberate walk to have an idea of the modus operandi, I settled myself at one of these verandahs and had a brief learning chat with the mami of the place. She was carrying a cordless handset from her land phone line like all mamis anywhere else in a whorehouse. Despite our communication difficulties, she was more than enthusiastic to show me the girls and started calling out.

Having read that the cost was 100,000 dongs, I indicated to the mami the amount to confirm the price and she shook her head and showed me 120,000 dongs. The difference was not going to change my life so I agreed.

I viewed several girls who she called over and they arrived on their bicycles. The quality was between 3-5 overall and I rejected them all purely because they all looked “sour” and unsmiling.

Somewhere from within, one of the house girls surfaced and was smiling and teasing in her manners with me. Quite far from perfect, I took her despite her many imperfections. I would score her about 4 on a scale of 10. After all, I had come all the way to Do Son to leave behind some of the little wrigglers that my body was producing each day. For the purpose of this report, I will call her smiley since I did not even ask her name.

Smiley sat her down to enjoy a drink while I continued to sip my beer which is a nice fluid I usually consume when I am in viewing mood.

Mami organized the room which to my surprise was not in the house, but beneath the same verandah where I was sitting. I took the room facing the sea and from within the small window, I had a “sea view”.

Tried my best to imagine I was in the one of the Balinese Villas facing the ocean with a local lass to administer appropriate treatment that comes with such luxury.
The reality was a clean simple room with a double bed and a small television with a video machine. Smiley had gone out to get some videos and soon found an appropriate video for us, two girls in pigtails and schoolgirl outfits servicing a handsome fella with a big one. That might help I thought to myself.

The room had a simple shower room with two small clean towels and some used soap in the receptacle.

She pulled off my clothes and undressed herself while I was on the bed watching the video. To my surprise, she did not lead me in to the shower to wash ourselves, standard operating procedure with all whores in Asia that I have been with.

To my surprise, she pounced on swollen dicky and proceeded to give it the ice-cream treatment it was seeking with a skill level of about 2 out of 10. There was no subtlety nor variety, just pure sucking and licking at the knob without real deep throat. My thought wandered about the lack of oral hygiene and more. I quickly pulled out and went to wash the thing before returning to bed with my trusty pack of rubber in hand. She would taken it “au-naturale” if that was my preference for sure.

Given the circumstances, I did not initiate any kissing nor was I persuaded that DATY was deserved.

For me, this was going to be “wham bang thank you mamm!”.

Gave her some treatment with my fingers before plunging in with my hummer and she reacted by closing her legs. Oh no! I thought, this won’t do! She won’t let my hips get in between those legs so shorty can thrust at will? I pulled out and showed her how to spread those legs. She opened up and closed up again as I pushed in! This went on for a few times so, I let her get comfortable with the shallow shoves as it was useless to fight that move.

Changing method, I clasped her body close and let her insert me at her will. Those legs which first refused to open eased up a little and my hummer began to buzz. I sensed it was my chance to push for home and picked up the pace from there. A young slightly blumpy body with a tight shaft helped me to reach the point of no return. Those swimmers came rushing and I let her have it hard and fast.

When I had expelled all that “poison” from within, I pulled out and went to wash up, staying focused that I am probably in a high turnover heavy duty danger zone so taking extra care is not a bad thing. (This purely my own thoughts).

She went and washed up too and we both dressed up and clowned around a little with the camera. She would not let me take her photos at all. (Something I should have negotiated).

We then went upstairs where I paid Mami the 120,000 plus 20,000 for the beer and red bull. Took my leave and recommenced my wandering around.

Simply put, some houses have house girls while others don’t. If you take their house girl who they will show you, you go into one of the rooms and do your deed which should include BBBJ and FJ or other deeds which you could discuss before you agree to take the girl. Language is obviously the difficulty if you are not Vietnamese as in my case.

There was one house where there were 4 girls inside on the lounge set and I went in and loitered around. Young Papasan came in and he shook his head when I suggested taking one of the girls to my hotel for an overnight session. On my suggestion that I take her for ST at my hotel, he continued to shake his head and pointed me upstairs.

I laughed and said no as my dickie was already dead without possibility of revival for at least half an hour. Sat around & played around with the girls with my pocket translator and they found me funny to laugh at because of the communication difficulties I was having.

Once “thawed” I found the girls without attitude although initially, most of them did not smile naturally. The young papasan and the girls did allow me a few photographs which I took just to show readers the average looks and quality you get here. I would think it would be about the same you get in Cambodia at the low end shacks that have now ceased operations outside Phnom Penh due to NGO action.

On that late Friday afternoon, there were about 20 to 30 girls moving about from house to house and all on bicycles. Customers were just a handful of people like me. I would imagine that in the Do Son area, if someone wanted a viewing, they would go to one of the small hotels within and outside of the RLA and a call would be made for the girl to cycle over for the viewing until a choice is made.

I nicknamed them the “cycling butterflies” and began to enjoy viewing them as they cycled by me each time.

A bad throat (sore & ticklish) in Hanoi was breaking out that day and I went back to my room to sleep. That evening, I awoke at 9.30 pm. Walked back to the location and the same “tour” of the RLA to see if there was more talent at night that late Friday evening.

There were many taxis and cars mostly local people from Haiphong from what I was told. Many people sitting in the lounges while taxis and other private cars were parked wherever there was space. Girls coming and going on bicycles for the viewing. During that walk, I would estimate that there are about 30 to 50 girls in the entire area moving about. The quality that night looked a little better than in the day. It could just be the lighting being dimmer.

A lovely looking cutie who I would rate about a 6 sat on a bicycle outside the house where I had paused that afternoon. She was “horsing around” with the young papasan who was rubbing himself on her on the bicycle. Papasan offered her to me and again, I proposed for her to go to my hotel room. He shook his head. I was not really up to a session and went back to suffer the night in my room alone. If I had not had that bad cough, I would have taken her upstairs for the ST session at that price of 120,000 dongs since she was the best looker in my eyes all day and evening.

If you like ST sessions and are in Hanoi, (with time to spare) I would recommend a one-two night stopover here in Do Son simply for the experience if nothing. 120,000 dongs is the equivalent of about US$20/- I understand that the locals pay around 90,000 to 100,000 dongs a shag.

Getting There
From Hanoi
Via Haiphong
By Train 5 times a day. Only the 5.50am train departs from Hanoi Station, the others leave from Long Bien Station. I was advised not to use the train by my hotel travel desk. To quote the lady, “the train is very uncomfortable and stops many times along the way.”

By bus from the local Luong Yen bus station at Tran Khanh Du – Duong Nguyen Khoai.
The bus fare was 30,000 dongs to Haiphong. On my return journey, I discovered that I had taken the wrong company bus at that station; sort of hijacked by that bus’s runner while the main operator runs a better and bigger bus for only 25,000 dongs at the station.

Also discovered that I could easily have waited for bus along the route which passes a point near my hotel (Tran Quang Khai) and saved myself the taxi ride to the bus station. Both ways, the bus drives at a snail’s pace to pick up passengers along the route as it leaves both Hanoi as well as Haiphong.

It continues to pick up passengers along the route wherever there are people seeking to board the bus. For the return leg, I managed to alight near the area of my hotel on the main road (Tran Quang Khai) and walked to my hotel in Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem area saving myself the taxi ride from the bus station.

From Haiphong, there’s another 20 kilometers to go to reach Do Son. A minibus service every 20 minutes from Haiphong gets you there. I could not work out where to get this bus. Since it was my first trip. Hopped into a metered taxi and he took me there. The meter ran all of 234,000 dongs. I made him circulate the entire beach area so I had a good idea of the layout of the place before I sent him away. This also allowed me to locate the “red light area” of Do Son Beach to ensure that I would not have to enlist another “guide” to locate it later. For the return journey, I managed to ask my hotel where to catch the bus and waited for it on the main road. Arriving in Haiphong, I did not manage to alight at a suitable nearby place to the bus station and had great difficulty until a kind mother and daughter put me in a taxi that got me to the station. That screw up cost me a 22,000 dong taxi ride.

My recommendation to anyone with little Vietnamese language ability to have ready to show photographs (in your digital camera) of the bus station and other important destinations or things to help describe what you want to local people. My pocket electronic translator with its words & phrases proved to be less adaptable when I needed it most but, it did help.

ok. last night was too drunk to continue write my FR. Last night we woke up and continue our in town sight seeing. Kwing reach our hotel early morning.

At noon, we call Bro Deptraits4u, and he bring us to another massage. A cheaper one. Massage place is a saloon, you can have a hair wash first then massage and of course HJ. The massage was ok. 4 of us went in. 2 gals are pretty and young. The other 2 are average. But the damage is lower than the previous massage. Most of the gal can give u thier phone number. Then u can call them for supper later on. We did not phone them cause we were too drunk that night.

Today, we went a day trip to Ha long Bay. tired but the view was ok. Depends you like those natural scenery or not. When we reach back to Hanoi, it was too late to cheong KTV. So Bro Deptraits4u brought us to those one short kind of place. Gals was average looking but you have longer time then Geylang. Damage: 350k for the reception and 100k for the gal. My friend have 2 shot with 350k on the reception and 200k for the gal. And he got a photo on her naked. You only get this price is Bro Deptraits4u goes with u.

During dinner, Bro Deptraits4u brought 2 very pretty gal over. Unfortunally they dont want to do over night tonight and just want to do one shot.

One of my friend went for over night gal introduce by Bro Deptriats4u but unfortunately the hotel does not allowed and wanted my friend to pay more. Therefore boh kang tao.

Ok, my advice to all friend is if you want to cheong in hanoi, you haver to decide early and tell bro Deptraits4u so that he can organise. As for us doing all the sight seeing staff, we have no chance to do over night.

My recommendation to anyone with little Vietnamese language ability to have ready to show photographs (in your digital camera) of the bus station and other important destinations or things to help describe what you want to local people. My pocket electronic translator with its words & phrases proved to be less adaptable when I needed it most but, it did help.

If I remember correctly, charges for the VIP rooms are VND350K for 90mins & VND450K for 120mins.

I guess the charges should be same across all the 3 joints.
Only difference is, the other 2 joints have lesser VIP rooms while the one at 39 Vu Thanh have ONLY VIP room.

I just came back from Hanoi and I have visited massage at 36 Cat Linh. I have a session with no 6 and no 18. No 6 is fun and playful and 18 is a little serious but very young (20 Yrs). I went with two other business partners, first time ever to Hanoi for all of us (first time to Vietnam), touchdown at 1.00pm (plane delayed), went out and withdrew money from ATM at airport (used Citibank card as advised by bros in the forum) and purchased a pre-paid GSM card on a second HP I had brought along from Spore, very convenient, the girl will help you put it in and turn it on right at the counter, the SIM card that is.

Have booked Fortuna Hotel, met the pick up and to the hotel we went. It took about one hour from the Noi Bai airport to Hanoi city centre, was surprised that the city looked quite clean, cleaner than many cities I have been. The driver told me it is a good choice to stay at Fortuna, it is very good hotel because "many girls there". Checked in with no hassle, it says FORTUNA Hotel, the business and entertainment hotel, I am liking what I see already, was told it is owned by Singaporean.

Tried to call bro deptrai to "bao dao" (check-in) but having problem with my phone or coverage. So went to business meeting the whole afternoon and was brought to have dinner at a local buffet restaurant (not sure where it is), but the food was local food with a live band and singer, cost around VND100K (S$10) per person, very reasonable. Went around to get food and tried many new types of food that I have not had before, very tasty. I tried the traditional “pho” soup noodle, but with some type of snail instead of the normal beef. Finished dinner around 9.30pm and went back to hotel. Tried to call bro deptrai, but still having problem, so what to do?

During dinner, was advised by our Vietnamese partner to try out OASIS, just directly across Fortuna, it is the same as Fortuna, but cheaper. So decided to try it out. Went in there, but don't know where it is. Looking lost, a sweet looking waitress from the restaurant came to the rescue and advised to take lift to 5th floor for SPA. Out of the lift to the counter, greeted by two guys, one of them started speaking Vietnamese explaining the services and pricing pointing to the price chart on the wall......before he went longer, I said "wait....you'd better speak English" - and he started smiling, I guess we looked Vietnamese.

Although I don't understand Vietnamese, we could make out what he was trying to say, the pricing chart on the wall was in English and self explanatory. Pricing starts from around VND300K for an hour to around VND750K, depending on how long and the room type. So decided to take a 2-hour VIP package, costs VND525K. This looks a bit expensive from what I have read and heard, but what the heck, I am here to enjoy.

I was brought to a big room, a little bigger than our HDB master bedroom in Singapore. Waiting inside I looked around, it had a Jacuzzi, a single bed and a small "shower" cubicle.....or that was what I thought. The room was not all covered, it had glass windows covered until the height of around 170cm, after that it was clear, allowing someone from outside to see in. After 5 mins, a petite SYT, fair smooth skin, look Chinese (Vietnamese look similar to Chinese) came in and introduced herself speaking in Vietnamese, did a small bowing gesture, very courteous and looked shy. She is young....around 20yo, wore a low cut mini dress. She looked really sexy in the dress. Although she is petite, around 155cm, but her neh-neh looked more than a handful, protruding, spilling out from the bra cup and I could see nice curvature, very inviting. I was mesmerized, out of words, just nodded and smiled with happiness. If anyone had seen me, I would have probably looked like a cat with a big smiling face drooling in front of a succulent fish.

After that mesmerizing first 5..10..seconds, I finally regained my consciousness and utter “hello” in English, and she just smiled back, very sweet. She started speaking in Vietnamese again, but I could not understand a word, and she started to unbutton my shirt, looking at me smiling all the time. I asked her “what is your name” in English and she just shook her head and smiled. I now knew that she could not understand English at all.

Never mind that, I had invested sometime before coming to Hanoi, to learn some Vietnamese sentences. Thanks to bro uglyman who sent out the Vietnamese language course, it proved to be very useful. I worked out some courage to say “ong ten gi?” with the last word sounding like “zee” and she laughed, she replied something in Vietnamese pointing to herself. I guessed she said her name, but I could not catch what it was, but I was relieved and happy that she understood me, I had probably sounded totally off tune or use the wrong choice of words.

Stripped all out, she gave me a pair of shorts, said something and pointed to the “shower” cubicle. I put on the shorts and went in, it was rather dark inside and had a chair, only fit one person. I sat on the chair and she closed the door, and I heard something was turned on. A stream of hot steam came out from somewhere, don’t know where. Now I realized that it was a sauna. I am very “sua gu”, only been to communal sauna where there is a burning hot stone thingy in the middle and you pour water to create the steam.

The steam was getting hotter and hotter and very very hot, I was sweating like I was running a marathon in Sahara dessert, except that it was humid, wanted to adjust the heat/steam, but don’t know where, everything was covered by steam, could not see anything, hard to breathe. After about 5 mins, could not “tahan” anymore and went out. I was greeted with that sweet smile again and pointed me to lie on the bed, so I did.

For the next 45mins or so, she coated me with some scrubbing gel and working through my body from neck to toe, one limb at a time, excluding the private part, I still had the shorts on. She then rubbed all over with warm towel, felt very “shiok”.

As we both chicken and duck, I tried to break the silence, I asked in English “How old are you?”, pointing to her. Again, she responded with only smile. Then I blurted …… muoi tam, muoi chin, hai muoi? Ooh..what a sweet return, she pointed to herself and said “hai muoi” with a shy expression in the face, she understood me, she is 20. I tried many other questions but to no avail.

After the scrubbing, she guided me to the Jacuzzi, bathed, shampooed, cleaned my whole body. She did everything standing outside of the tub as she was trying not to get her clothes wet. Haven't seen any posts on playground across the bridge, so thought I'd contribute.
If you drive across the bridge across the red river, you come to the "slummier" (for a lack of better word) part of town. Quite a bit to enjoy there, like Le Mat (or is Mat Le), or snake village where for about S$50, you get one kg of snake and they'll cook an 8-course dinner for you.
But I digress, along the main road (Nguyen Van Cu) are a number of local joints. The one I went to is Khang Hong at number 223, and also the one beside it (can't remember name). The ladies who works there are typically from the villages; shy, tight, and don't speak a word of English. All are also very young, and very inexperienced. Much wilder experience than in town. First time I was there, before I even finished my first beer, my girl was already on my lap sucking on my nipples. A-Z in the room itself or any other empty room in the KTV and tips for the girl is 200K Dong (locals pay 150...). They even supply their own helmet, although I would recommend bringing your own cause the VN helmets tend to be too small (or maybe it's because I'm bigger than the average Joe :)). They open from 1pm all the way till late, so I've been there on lazy Saturday afternoons to get some knob polishing.

I was in Hanoi last week and stayed in Lake Side Hotel, Ngoc Khanh Street, besides the exhibition hall.

On night after dinner and nothing to do, so took a walk towards the main road where Daewoo Hotel located. Half way saw a sign borad of "Thai Massage", so follow the arrows and went into this "Flower Thai Massage". They wrote to me VDN65K for 60 min massage, so I gave it a try. The room was ok to the local standard, but cannot compare with those 5 star hotel one. I was massaged by a young Vietnamese girl who couldn't understand any English, but her massage was strong and very good. After she massage my tummy, she touched my little brother and asked "massage?', I asked how much and she wrote 200 on her hand. So I said "ok" and she proceeded her HJ. Her HJ was normal but I managed to unbuckled her bar and massage her small and soft breast.

The overall experience was good, had a solid good massage and HJ to release, and the total damage was only VND265K.

Hi all old birds,

Just recently went to Oasis Hotel (directly opposite Fortuna Hotal on Giang Vo) and visited the Sauna Club there. As it was my first time there, opted for the 375k special room service for 1 and a half hour with massage.

It's pretty cool --- a small private sauna (its really for one person), a nice Jacuzzi, a small shower area and also a massage bed... the standard kind in the privacy of a room. Just recently went to Oasis Hotel (directly opposite Fortuna Hotal on Giang Vo) and visited the Sauna Club there. As it was my first time there, opted for the 375k special room service for 1 and a half hour with massage.
It's pretty cool --- a small private sauna (its really for one person), a nice Jacuzzi, a small shower area and also a massage bed... the standard kind in the privacy of a room.

Come to think of it. It was fun getting to know her.

First time in Hanoi, here is my contribution.

I went with two other business partners, first time ever to Hanoi for all of us (first time to Vietnam), touchdown at 1.00pm (plane delayed), went out and withdrew money from ATM at airport (used Citibank card as advised by bros in the forum) and purchased a pre-paid GSM card on a second HP I had brought along from Spore, very convenient, the girl will help you put it in and turn it on right at the counter, the SIM card that is.

Have booked Fortuna Hotel, met the pick up and to the hotel we went. It took about one hour from the Noi Bai airport to Hanoi city centre, was surprised that the city looked quite clean, cleaner than many cities I have been. The driver told me it is a good choice to stay at Fortuna, it is very good hotel because "many girls there". Checked in with no hassle, it says FORTUNA Hotel, the business and entertainment hotel, I am liking what I see already, was told it is owned by Singaporean.

Tried to call bro deptrai to "bao dao" (check-in) but having problem with my phone or coverage. So went to business meeting the whole afternoon and was brought to have dinner at a local buffet restaurant (not sure where it is), but the food was local food with a live band and singer, cost around VND100K (S$10) per person, very reasonable. Went around to get food and tried many new types of food that I have not had before, very tasty. I tried the traditional “pho” soup noodle, but with some type of snail instead of the normal beef. Finished dinner around 9.30pm and went back to hotel. Tried to call bro deptrai, but still having problem, so what to do?

During dinner, was advised by our Vietnamese partner to try out OASIS, just directly across Fortuna, it is the same as Fortuna, but cheaper. So decided to try it out. Went in there, but don't know where it is. Looking lost, a sweet looking waitress from the restaurant came to the rescue and advised to take lift to 5th floor for SPA. Out of the lift to the counter, greeted by two guys, one of them started speaking Vietnamese explaining the services and pricing pointing to the price chart on the wall......before he went longer, I said "wait....you'd better speak English" - and he started smiling, I guess we looked Vietnamese.

Although I don't understand Vietnamese, we could make out what he was trying to say, the pricing chart on the wall was in English and self explanatory. Pricing starts from around VND300K for an hour to around VND750K, depending on how long and the room type. So decided to take a 2-hour VIP package, costs VND525K. This looks a bit expensive from what I have read and heard, but what the heck, I am here to enjoy.

I was brought to a big room, a little bigger than our HDB master bedroom in Singapore. Waiting inside I looked around, it had a Jacuzzi, a single bed and a small "shower" cubicle.....or that was what I thought. The room was not all covered, it had glass windows covered until the height of around 170cm, after that it was clear, allowing someone from outside to see in. After 5 mins, a petite SYT, fair smooth skin, look Chinese (Vietnamese look similar to Chinese) came in and introduced herself speaking in Vietnamese, did a small bowing gesture, very courteous and looked shy. She is young....around 20yo, wore a low cut mini dress. She looked really sexy in the dress. Although she is petite, around 155cm, but her neh-neh looked more than a handful, protruding, spilling out from the bra cup and I could see nice curvature, very inviting. I asked her “what is your name” in English and she just shook her head and smiled. I now knew that she could not understand English at all.

Never mind that, I had invested sometime before coming to Hanoi, to learn some Vietnamese sentences. Thanks to bro uglyman who sent out the Vietnamese language course, it proved to be very useful. I worked out some courage to say “ong ten gi?” with the last word sounding like “zee” and she laughed, she replied something in Vietnamese pointing to herself. I guessed she said her name, but I could not catch what it was, but I was relieved and happy that she understood me, I had probably sounded totally off tune or use the wrong choice of words.

Stripped all out, she gave me a pair of shorts, said something and pointed to the “shower” cubicle. I put on the shorts and went in, it was rather dark inside and had a chair, only fit one person. I sat on the chair and she closed the door, and I heard something was turned on. A stream of hot steam came out from somewhere, don’t know where. Now I realized that it was a sauna. I am very “sua gu”, only been to communal sauna where there is a burning hot stone thingy in the middle and you pour water to create the steam.

The steam was getting hotter and hotter and very very hot, I was sweating like I was running a marathon in Sahara dessert, except that it was humid, wanted to adjust the heat/steam, but don’t know where, everything was covered by steam, could not see anything, hard to breathe. After about 5 mins, could not “tahan” anymore and went out. I was greeted with that sweet smile again and pointed me to lie on the bed, so I did.

For the next 45mins or so, she coated me with some scrubbing gel and working through my body from neck to toe, one limb at a time, excluding the private part, I still had the shorts on. She then rubbed all over with warm towel, felt very “shiok”.

As we both chicken and duck, I tried to break the silence, I asked in English “How old are you?”, pointing to her. Again, she responded with only smile. Then I blurted …… muoi tam, muoi chin, hai muoi? Ooh..what a sweet return, she pointed to herself and said “hai muoi” with a shy expression in the face, she understood me, she is 20. I tried many other questions but to no avail.

After the scrubbing, she guided me to the Jacuzzi, bathed, shampooed, cleaned my whole body. She did everything standing outside of the tub as she was trying not to get her clothes wet. Nam Hai 1 is a conveniently located hotel with food and shopping and beers surrounding that place. However with respect to "guest-friendly" that will be a challenge. If u have not paid anything, then I may help u book a guest friendly one within walking distance from there. But if u have already booked, then u may consider a "secondary" room within the walking distance for your ECA (Extra Curriculum Activities).

Cheong at Fortuna is a no Brainer.. similar to those at Havelock road in Singapore... at that kind of pricing too! However, the girls there may not follow u another hotel so there is a risk. Usually the girls just serve those staying at Fortuna Hotel and they also not likely to do LT (long time) unless they are familiar with you. If I go with u to Fortuna, I can migitate a big part of those risks but still not a water-tight guarantee. So far so good...

For a Virgin-trip with only 1 night to cheong, my advise will be not to get ur hope too high... Hanoi is a still very much communist and its a let-go-long-tread-catch-big-fish environment.

Nam Hai 1 is a conveniently located hotel with food and shopping and beers surrounding that place. However with respect to "guest-friendly" that will be a challenge. If u have not paid anything, then I may help u book a guest friendly one within walking distance from there. But if u have already booked, then u may consider a "secondary" room within the walking distance for your ECA (Extra Curriculum Activities).

Cheong at Fortuna is a no Brainer.. similar to those at Havelock road in Singapore... at that kind of pricing too! However, the girls there may not follow u another hotel so there is a risk. Usually the girls just serve those staying at Fortuna Hotel and they also not likely to do LT (long time) unless they are familiar with you. If I go with u to Fortuna, I can migitate a big part of those risks but still not a water-tight guarantee. So far so good...

For a Virgin-trip with only 1 night to cheong, my advise will be not to get ur hope too high... Hanoi is a still very much communist and its a let-go-long-tread-catch-big-fish environment.

Really a waste. My first trip to Hanoi but missed meeting up with you.
But I'm sure there will be another chance.

The time now is 6:00pm. I am finally back from my meeting to the hotel.
I would say it is a very excited way back because of the traffic.
I was in a taxi but there is also a policeman who stop less cars from entering the lane back to my hotel. The taxi was forced to make a left turn. Then the driver suggest to take me on a motorbike but I suggested to walk back myself. The distance is only a mere 200m but I took a video of the traffic junction and also tried crossing the road. Lucky I am still in one piece. :D

Just too bad. No one to meet up from here. However, the taxi driver is going to bring me out tonight for a drink. Where I also dun know. Just hope he dun con my "innocence".

We went to a restaurant at about 8:30pm. He told me he had to fetch a friend from the airport at 10pm. We had a total of 7 bottles of Saigon beer, or Viet would call "bia". We chatted alot and we shared alot between Vietnam and Singapore. I am surprised he is only 32 years old (young man), married with two kids. His wife even joined us when we about to leave at 9:30pm. He offered to pay the bill but I insisted because if without him, I would be staying in the hotel last night, doing nothing. I was even surprised the beer only cost 15,000 VND (1.5SGD). One bottle is about one mug. I told him in Singapore, we normally drink 1 jug and that is about 4 mugs and can cost us 20SGD. Total bill is 134,000VND, which is only about 13.4SGD, which I happily paid 150,000VND (15SGD), plus some food and tips, because I am happy he brought me out. I also tried to give him 20USD for his company last night but he insisted not to take it.

My last few hours in Hanoi before I go to the airport. I will try to write another summary of my 3 days stay here after I reached back home if you bros do not mind my story.

May be old news but Sakura Club at 36 Cat Linh is a pretty good health club.

Two hot and cold pools, one swana room, one steam bath room, one TV room (with complimentary beverages); the TV room is pretty crap but those who go there ain't there for TV.

Low budget massage, 60 minutes for 150,000. Beer-drinking contest in Hanoi
Both foreigners and Vietnamese contestants raised their glasses of beer in the contest titled ‘the best beer drinker’ at the Vietnam Beer Festival 2007 on August 11 in Hanoi, the first of its kind in Vietnam.

Each contestant had to drink five glasses of beer (equivalent to 2.5 litres of beer) as fast as possible. The winner was a man from Hanoi, who finished his five glasses of beer in under two minutes. After loading his stomach with beer, the winner received his prize, which was also beer. Hahahahaha
