From past experience, Arcade usu provides one of the highest rate. However, if you are changing less than Ringgit 1000. The difference is negligible

Just sumthing to share for those who don't already know..

1. SGD rate in JB town area is quite high compared to other area. and most likely the highest.
2. SGD exchange rate for $100 notes, $50 notes and $10 notes are different. Even if you have ten $10 notes, they will still use the $10 rate. $100 notes gives better exchange rate.

According to my experience, JB rates are better than SG by RM0.50~RM2.00.
But of course depends on location too.

In JB, the money changers after customs are having similar or very competitive rates. the most, diff is about RM0.50 for SGD$100.

In SG, you can consider changing at Woodlands, near Sheng Siong area, rates are competitive to other parts of SG, no point go far far and change for the RM0.50~RM1 difference.

For changing large amount, I recommend changing in SG cos security is much better. You might lose out some RM but safety and security most impt.
If you changing a bit only, can go JB for better rates, nt much but is along the way. Take it as a parking waiver by JB $ changers.

I change 2.41 Near Custom. 100 Sgd and above

28/4/11 Toa Payoh Central near Courts Superstore (2nd shop).

Posted sign on window 240.80 but when I changed she only give me 238.00.
When I asked why, she says 240.80 rate is for big notes :mad:
I asked back my money and went to the 1st shop opposite Fork n Spoon cafeteria. They give me 240.00.

They only want $50 note and above......... once I went to change SGD$500 into ringgit after CNY...... and had plenty of new $10 notes from the angpows but the moneychanger refused to accept them. :mad:

Location: After exit the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (CIQ), turn left after the Shell Station.

$SGD 100 = MYR 240.70
Location: Taman Ungku Tun Aminah (Opposite the Wet Market, same row with Public Bank / Maybank)

brother , u go until the end along the by pass the maybank, u can see another money changes in the road end. They offer higher.Normally their rate on the board is higher then town. but when u change, they give u more 0.15

Next time go to the $$ changers after Shell stations, You can get better rates there. Most of the time better than SG if u change >$100.

Most of the Money Changer display the converter rate at 2.40
when you ask for the actual, they will type on their calculator 2.42 and show you.
but when you ask, you intend to change more than 2K,
may be they will give you 2.422 or 2.423, it depend on them.
anyway, I heard my friend told me, Money changer in Tun aminah, JB, can get the higher rate. hehe...

I changed $100/RM243 @ the 1st $$ changer after SHELL petrol station from Woodlands.

changed at money changer opposite Shell (where you come out of customs, look on the right side) yesterday. gave me S$1 = RM243.5 Is the highest in JB! And I didn't even bother to negotiate for higher cos only change less than S$500. The one after Shell is erratic, IMHO not the highest in JB..
