How long you dated your partner before going down the aisle?

How soon is too soon?

Yes i kena one similar bomb, ex gf came back from US. Hang out for Christmas and now together at Vietnam(no she not vietbu). Never ended the rs initially over any bad terms, so things naturally fall back into place. Now she wants to go further.

Mai zap me for being ignorant. I'm only human.

Hmm.. Personally I reckon you need to know that person for at least one year before you get to understand his/her character. But since she is your ex-gf, I guess you would have known her for sometime. If she has not changed much from the past, you may start counting the time when you first get to know her.

As for marriage, it depends very much on mutual feeling. You will know it when the time comes. I strongly believe fate plays a big part on it. Like myself, I was in a 3-years relationship with my ex before i know my wife. My ex and I were supposed to ROM but things did not turn up well at last minute. Our relationship turned sour and I was in despair until I met my wife. We got married within one year of relationship.

Looking back, God has His reasons why my past relationships did not work out as He wanted me to learn how to appreciate people and things in life.

I agree with bro yang guo. Min one year. But sometimes , even one year is not even enough. you must learn to read the tell tale signs.

Bro, you are a nice guy. No offence, but you have a strange God that punishes you with broken relationships to teach you lessons. Does he also make cars bang you to teach you how to cross roads properly?

Why not tell it as it is? You had a free choice. There are consequences of your free choice. Someone else too exercised her free choice in those relationships. It just didn't work out. And you got wiser. Nothing to do with God.

Its like you choose to put your hand in fire. There are consequences. You get burnt. Period. Nothing to do with God. He didn't make you put your hand in fire to teach you lessons.

Again, no offences. Just clearing up some strange beliefs. Everyone likes blame the old man when he is seriously not involved.

The real problem, if you asked me, is he should never give Man free choice in that garden of Eden. We tend to screw things up. :p

If anyone stops me from going, most likely is my own body(can't wake up) lol see you on Sunday!

Bro MoJoe313, i think bro yangguo meant that everyone are given alot of challenges in life. Anyway not every god is a old man. My god can be guanyinma also. Hehe.

And thanks yangguo and greenfrog, I agree that I need some more time together before committing. I definitely dont need another crazy episode of relationship like I had prior to this.

Hope everyone had a happy new year.
Leave all shit behind and enjoy a new start!

Huh? Do you mean you have a choice to decide who your parents or siblings are? Doesn't the same principles apply to your wife, gfs or even friends?

Especially in a relationship, loving someone wholeheartedly does not guaranteed that you will be reciprocated by the same amount of love.

Of course you do a choice to disown them but you do not have the choice to select who can be your parent in the first place.

Hope you can understand what I mean.

Its like you choose to put your hand in fire. There are consequences. You get burnt. Period. Nothing to do with God. He didn't make you put your hand in fire to teach you lessons.

I reckon the above example you gave on "putting your hand in fire" is a irrelevant one. Who in his sound mind will do such a thing?

There are certain "rules" in life we have to abide with. Staying away from fire is one of the rules.

Again, no offences. Just clearing up some strange beliefs. Everyone likes blame the old man when he is seriously not involved.

For goodness sake, I am not blaming God or anyone else. In fact anyone who has read my sentence carefully, he or she will know that I am indeed grateful for all the lessons He has taught me.

Pardon me for my bluntness. No hard feeling. :D

Decided to push this at least till mid 2015. I think things will be clearer with time. Likewise I don't want to go back with her just for convenience.

Had kopi with her dad. Her dad was my mentor during my time playing soccer in poly days. He knew what shit I went and did. So can't hide shit. Lol was surprised he supported our decision. Was happy to hear that I'm generally a good and kind Kid to him. I thought he might kill me. Lol.

Thinking back i can't believe in 2014. I was able to tank myself going to the same hotel room that my to-be-gf just finish her last deed with her sugardaddy. << anyone interested in this story? Lol kidding.

Yangguo,
Bro, we are good. Thanks for the mature exchange of views. Aiya, of course parents we cannot choose. But gf, can. You got the gist of it. Our choice and actions in boy girl relationships have nothing to do with God. Its between two people with free choice.

I know you are taking it positively, that you are grateful for the lessons. Just that I don't agree He dishes out such lessons. Breakups are just consequences of our choices. We screwed up, not him. Yes, no hard feelings bro :)

No one can know the other person well enough to know whether it's too soon to get married or not. Some people be together for 10plus years then get married, but marriage turned out to be broken. Yet on the flip side, some that only be togethet for less than a year have a great marriage life.

I would say, to go with your gut feel, if it feels right at that point, then go for it. Love in itself is a risk, including marriage. Good luck

Yes, ten years together you will be surprised to know what you will find out about your partner. Just like your partner thinks you are an Angel on earth, imagine her horror when she finds out you cheong haha.

Back to the question: Why the fuck sake in hell do you want to marry? Marry is about losing something, not gaining something. Yes we love and then get fucked into marriage, in the end what is it that you want? Children? Stability to fuck same pussy everyday? Promise of fidelity? All these can fade. Yes children can be taken away in divorce.

Marry because that person is the person you can be friends with the rest of your life, even if there is no sex and no money-That is the test.

To find the your other half for marriage is extremely difficult nowadays.....Most people are simply too self-centred for marriage to work out...

End of the day, the signing of the marriage certificate should never be a priority to be together...One can still have kids...blah blah without the need for marriage....Best to find someone who don't mind being with you without the need for marriage certificate....:D:D:D
