Has any brother out there actually deflowered his bride on his wedding night?

Its almost a stupid question to ask because times have changed, values have changed. And with so many brothers out there looking for a feather in the cap, deflowering as many as they can, it is a wonder if any virgin remains.

But there should be a nicely brought up girl. A girl who prides herself with her chastity, a girl incalcated with Confucian ethics, moral values, etc. A girl who will "reserve" herself for her husband and to exercise the Sacred Act of Cosummation on the Matrimonial Bed.

The Chinese, especially the Cantonese, have a ritual to provide a roast pig on the wedding day. It is actually a chastity pig. It is brought to the groom's home when he fetches her. The pig is then carefully cut in the middle for consumption and the void is covered with red paper so that the pig still looks intact with head and legs.

3 days after the wedding, the groom has to bring the bride back to her house and brings the pig along. But if the bride is not a virgin, the groom removes the pig's ears and tail. Something like that, I can't remember exactly.

Non-virgin brides will probably opt out of this pig thingy. But if she has old fashioned parents who insist on the roast pig, then she'll have to hide her blushes under her makeup. I think brides these days are smart enough to include a clause to return a "whole pig" in the pre-nuptial agreement. *LOL*

So, are there any brothers out there who had the privilege of a virgin bride? Please post and include your year of marriage. Deflowering her before your marriage doesn't count.

For the record, I'm Teochew and I didn't get a roast pig. If I did, I'll return it without tail and ears.

My mum has been doing this for many many couples with many dialects. She knew alot of this.

To answer your question, and let me cut it short. Nowadays, people don't like pig. They do not give pig anymore. Customary and traditional wedding has been simplified.

Me .. teochew, we give strange kinds of biscuits which are much more expensive than cakes, 16 different small teochew biscuits, normal cake box size. People still give pig lah, my place got 1 shop specialised in roast. Often got people order pig for weddings but it's like a seasonal thing. Bad months not a single order, but on a auspicious date, his record is 16 pigs on a single day.

People don't give pigs anymore because the old customs died with the old folks and there's no patriarch in the family who thoroughly knows what is required. If they have an old relative around, then they can sought advice.

Just like your mum who has been helping out with weddings. I think she's doing a great job in keeping customs alive, she is knowledgeable in the field, well experienced, knows about different dialects and different practices.

In Kuala Lumpur, they actually hire a professional to ensure all customs are adhered to. There was a documentary about this and this male (I don't know what you call him) was fairly young, must have done a lot of research. I mean, there are so many dialect groups and varying procedures. And for inter-dialect marriages, 2 sets of customs come into play and some may be contradictory.

I'm certain everyone has to offer tea to elders but it was very rewarding, first at the groom's house, then back to the bride's house. Maybe this portion of the custom is still alive and kicking because of the rewards *LOL*

The purpose of my thread is not about deflowering my bride. We had sex before we were married and she wasn't a virgin then. I don't think any lesser of her and married her. I'm no saint either.

Its just an inquisitiveness. At this age and century, pre-marital sex is normal and virginity is no longer sacred. It has nothing to do with moral values and no explaination is required. My humble views and thoughts to ponder:-
Most guys would love to have a virgin wife, but then how many guys are able to control and overcome their urge and wait till the big wedding night to so call "deflower" the wife? keke...I think most guys would think of ways to deflower their virgin girlfriends like fastest by a week, slowest probably within 6 months.

Mine contribution i would turn the table to the brides. Read yes i believe the long mountain ppls, PRC had this old custom of 3days return to parents-in-law home. The pig w/o ears is consider the bride is non virgin, sort of like the man after spending tons he got cheated.
