Hi all,

would like your opinion on my future work prospect..

Recently i went for SIA interview as a steward. After many rounds of interview and spend money on shirt, tie, belts, shoes and pants i got thru. But the problem is, is it really that good to be flying around.

I know i will have the chance to bonk many different kinds of girls but is it really that important to travel and bonk girls. When i ask my friends, those who encourage me to go are telling me that i have the chance to see the world and bonk the girl.

On another hand, people who have more working experience are telling me that there isn't a really good career path.

I dun see myself working as a steward for life. so i am little troubled whether i should take up the job. salary wise is not very very fantastic, i heard rang from $3200 to $4000+

I got 1 friend who work with SIA as a steward but resigned after2 yrs, he ever told me they sometime don't even have time to rest cos once they arrive the country 2nd day morning got to fly back. Even they got off day he have to standby cos someone MC or last min taking leave. Paid depend which country u go. The further the more allowance u get. Can try if u still young, but once u resign u got to start all over again of low paid.

You have to decide what you want in life. It appears that you are joining this job with a thought of doing things that are not roles and responsibilities of your job. Like bonking girls... hmmm...Honestly, many of us if not all would like to have pretty girls in our respective jobs to bonk. But joining a job with this negative approach will backfire.

You have to make a decision what you want, and go for a job that will give you a job satisfaction. If your job is aligned with your passion then you will surely succeed.

Keep in mind "All that glitters is not gold".

Hi digby. I was told many years ago by a Singpore Airlines (SA) steward that he and his air crew colleagues were put up in lower quality, meaning cheaper, hotels than other airlines. He also added that their pay is lower than the air crew in foreign airlines. SA's staff union is rather strong and vocal.

As for sex among air crew, it's not uncommon. Usually the new air stewardesses are preyed upon by senior male air crew. The easy lays are called 'crew meals' which I find repulsive. Read the write-up in http://sg.yahoo.com before it is deleted. Do not join SA just for this though.

And if an air crew dies overseas, there is always an empty seat reserved just for him on a return flight in SA back to Singapore. I mentioned it to my above friend, he kept quiet.

I hope you are not put off about joining SA by all this. The economy is improving. Wages and bonuses should be increasing. You never try, you never know.
